i like to think of shiftblr (or any shifting community really) as an airport, a place where we all hang out before everyone goes somewhere. some shifters go home, some go on vacation, some just go visiting a friend, but everyone’s getting on a flight and is in the airport for a purpose.

♱ slow dancing . . . when you think nobody is around, you slow dance with the fireplace radiating heat. as rain softly hits the windows surrounding you, you begin to believe that life cannot get much calmer than this

♱ rooftops . . . you sneak out of the manor late into the night when you think bruce has left for patrol, choosing to venture into the city and find a rooftop to sit down on. you two talk for hours, even when you know bruce is watching

♱ gala . . . matching outfits at one of bruce's galas, sparking nonstop rumours from the press — with no response from bruce's representatives, obviously ("is gotham's richest bachelor, bruce wayne, finally a father-in law?! we have the inside scoop!")

♱ scarves . . . borrowing his scarf when you fail to dress appropriately for the weather, and to your surprise, he doesn't mind if you keep it

♱ subtle . . . all of your touches in the public eye must be subtle. when you're studying in gotham university's library, your knees touch just enough to send sparks down your spine. similarly, you touch each other's hands just subtly enough when sitting in the manor's living room that no one takes notice. yet, it is enough to cause a blush to rise on your cheeks

♱ annotation . . . passing annotated books back and forth, with notes specifically meant for one another. after implementing this unspoken system (which arose from your two-person book club you created), you read sixteen books in one month

♱ ferris wheel . . . before you go on patrol that night, you attend the fair that's currently in gotham. before you leave, you choose to go onto the ferris wheel so that you can have that classic couple experience (even though you secretly hate that stupid ride). to your surprise (and distaste), you get stuck at the top

♱ it's just a dream . . . as if in tandem, you two dream of a life where there is no crime, no suffering, no relentless mission for something greater. only happiness, only tranquility, only peace. this is a life you know you both will never be able to achieve, but you allow the dream to linger for just a few minutes longer. in another life, you get to experience this together

♱ miniature portrait . . . they keep a miniature portrait of your eyes on their person constantly, never daring to forget it or leave it at home. their most treasured possession

♱ mona lisa . . . you know how much they love art, considering that their own artwork lines the walls of your room. thus, when you are finally able to travel as a couple (albeit, on what bruce calls "official wayne family business" to you both), you plan an entire day surrounding the best art museums you can find. to the happiness of your lover, they promise to give this back to you tenfold

♱ desire pollen . . . while he's on a takedown with bruce, you patrol the city with tim. over the comms, bruce makes it sound like everything is normal and ivy is now in custody at arkham. weirdly enough, though, your lover does not sound as typically composed and stoic. you later discover, after he requests you meet him at the manor, that he inhaled some of ivy's desire pollen

♱ cuts and bruises . . . taking care of each other's cuts and bruises after a long, hard night of patrol. the criminals you dealt with were not playing around that night, so you both spend the early morning hours tending to the various cuts, bruises, and grime now littering your bodies. a bonding activity, you tell yourself

𝜗ৎ 01. Their psyche is at your mercy so bad that their reaction speed is superhuman when it comes to you—just by talking to them, their eyes find you instantly.

𝜗ৎ 02. It is physically impossible for them to ignore you; if they could add one more day to the week just to worship you, believe me, they would.

𝜗ৎ 03. Without a doubt, they would devote their infinite existence to you; not because they don't value their own, but on the contrary, because you are the most fundamental and precious part of it.

I SHIFTED IN CLASS. WITH MY EYES OPEN

So this literally happened to me the other day, and I’m still kind of in shock about it. I was sitting in class, half pretending to care about what the teacher was saying and out of nowhere, I shifted. Like, full on shifted. With. My. Eyes. Open.??

Up until now, I’ve only ever shifted using closed eye awake methods or sleep methods at night. You know, the whole “get comfy, relax, sink into it” type of routine. ( which isn’t needed!!)

I was literally just staring at the whiteboard, zoning out, and suddenly my awareness just slipped?? Like a channel switch. I didn’t even try. No counting, no affirmations, no prepping. One second I’m in class, the next I’m not. It lowk felt kind of illegal.

The funniest part is, the teacher probably thought I was just daydreaming. Meanwhile, I was ACTUALLY moving realities with a pen in my hand.

Here’s the thing though, that experience taught me something big. Shifting isn’t fragile. It doesn’t need the “perfect conditions” we convince ourselves it does. It’s not about lying perfectly still, waiting for hours, or babying the process. Awareness doesn’t care if you’re in your bed at night or stuck in a classroom at 11am.( TRUST ME)

I shifted in class. WITH my eyes open. And if that doesn’t scream “you can stop waiting for the stars to align,” I don’t know what does.

RANDOM THINGS TO SCRIPT NOWWW!! -no reflection on TV or any other device -you don't do pupillary light reflex and can naturally perceive all brightnesses and colors perfectly -phones can take professional pics 🙏 i am sick of the moon always looking like a white circle like -human eyes have more color cones -your hair never gets tangled -crunchy leavesss -the textures of your clothes, belongings etc never feel uncomfortable -you naturally know all song lyrics and don't need to learn them you can jst sing -no doomscrolling!! if you open any social media, it always shows you desired images, videos, whatever you NEED. -perfect vision, hearing, speech. you don't say "what? huh" million times when talking to someone, you don't stutter, you don't mess up words, you don't accidentally say smth wrong -you never unknowingly offend or hurt someone -you know when someone is lying -you don't accidentally make bad choices/ everything will ALWAYS end well for you, you and your loved ones wi'll always be safe -you always remember important things like birthdays, passwords, secrets, etc -a spirit who knows everything abt everyone in your dr, and abt you, your crself, the fact that you shifted, so you can ask them for advice -icecream doesn't melt fast, chewing gum doesn't lose flavour -your fave shops, restaurants, etc are always open the moment you wanna visit -crowds. don't exist. ugh. no more suffocation!! everyone either moves in an orderly fashion, or jst, idk goes somewhere else? lol -you don't get overwhelmed easily aaaaaah -when you were a kid, your plushies and toys were sentient. or maybe they still are, who knows? -Coincidences!! you're listening to a song, smth happens in front of you that matches the lyrics, your coffee always makes patterns, your friend says smth you were thinking abt yesterday, you see you and your friends names in public, etc!! -ummm no one sees your "flaws" (you have none) -nothing you do is "weird" it doesn't matter if your brain, personality, lifestyle etc is different. everyone accepts you for who you are.
