Dinner went really well - everyone was saying how impressed they were with my work on the book! It's selling pretty well, and a couple of people asked for my card because they have upcoming work they'd like to discuss with me :D It looks as if this freelancing thing might actually work out o.O Also um I don't know how to link to replies but thank you so much @winebearcat and @only-in-movies for the encouragement, I really needed it! <3

Asked my client three times if she had a timetable for print and she said "no not really" and as soon as I give her a date it's all "oh we need it way sooner also I'm on holiday then" so now I can't go see Metric tonight :( faaaail

It is a good feeling when the last words you hear from your former office are "don't leeeeeave me!" from the intern-turned-designer you hired :D That said, I am very sad to be leaving. But crazy excited to be starting my freelancing career!

Carefully and deliberately leaving the "kind" in my signature's "kind regards" because even if this client is an asshole, I am sweetness and light and unlike some people I understand that a certain level of courtesy is appropriate and indeed expected within a work environment, particularly between client and supplier.
