I'm going to use this as an excuse to infodump about my 2012 + Portal AU a little bit, please forgive me- LMAO
Starting with Cave Johnson ! I think Mrs. O'Neil would be perfect for this role ! I want to give her character more than 2012 did, and I can absolutely see her being a CEO / in a management position, specifically in S.T.E.M. ! I know Kirby was also pretty intelligent (At least from what we saw from him in S1 to early S2-), but I like April following in her Mother's footsteps more ! Aperture Science would do all kinds of research under Mrs. O'Neil's leadership, and one of those things would be mutations ! I want this to be why the Turtles existed in the first place, as well as their direct connection to Aperture ! Mrs. O'Neil is honestly very cold-hearted to the Turtles in my head (Not exactly cruel, but sort of indifferent-? Like she won't react if they're in pain or uncomfortable-),, They're "simply experiments" to her, you know? She also has a strained relationship with her husband and daughter due to her being an incredibly busy woman-!
I think Kirby / Mr. O'Neil would fit Caroline's role best ! He doesn't directly work for his wife (Since Caroline was Cave Johnson's assistant-), however Mrs. O'Neil does leave him Aperture Science when she becomes ill (Possibly dies-??),, Something Kirby did not want and she knew that,, When he would help out at Aperture, it was usually to help with the Turtles cognitive abilities, given he's a psychologist ! Kirby was a lot kinder and gentler with the Turtles than his wife-! Eventually, due to declining health reasons, Kirby runs the facility for a short while- But it's mostly a title-! I think Dr. Falco (AKA The Rat King-) would be a good fit for Mrs. O'Neil's actual secretary at the time, and he'd be the one calling the shots rather than Kirby,, ! I don't have a definitive chain of events yet, but under Kirby's "leadership", a disaster happens (Probably due to Dr. Falco and his hubris-) that damages the planet, causing Aperture to be abandoned with the Turtles still inside-!
Dr. Falco could be Greg (Johnson's assistant who was replaced by Caroline-) I guess ! Dr. Rockwell could be Doug Rattmann? Maybe?
April would technically be her own character in this ! The daughter of the O'Neils who would occasionally visit Aperture Science sometimes as a child ! She had vague memories of the Turtles from back then, but genuinely thought she imagined them until reuniting with them years later (Upon revisting the laboratory to salvage supplies / materials during this apocalyptic situation-) ! I kind of started merging games with her, because she reminded me a lot of Elle from, "The Last Of Us" during all this !
Casey would be Chell ! I always give Casey a sad backstory, so he was given to Aperture Science by his Father for the child testing department (Something Dr. Falco facilitated-),, ! Of course it was for financial reasons,, He didn't meet April personally, only saw her in pictures, and he didn't interact with the Turtles back then- He was only permitted access in certain areas ! He remained in that Relaxation Vault Chell starts in during the beginning cutscene of Portal 1 for many many years (Even after the disaster- He practically knew nothing had happened-) ! The facility would provide him with food and water, so he didn't need much ! He always learned basic knowledge and academics in the vault ! He only leaves once it malfunctions and releases him from holding, where he then aimlessly wandered the laboratory until he crossed paths with the Turtles (Specifically Mikey and Raph-) !
All the Turtles were made into cyborgs, hence the robotic enhancements ! The goal was for them to be superweapons, of course- But the laboratory couldn't get far enough to actually utilize them-!
Mikey and Raph are Turrets ! I felt this fit them the most- For Raph it's the lethal aspect, for Mikey it's their deceptively innocent voice lines ! Plus they both feel like sharp shooters to me !
Leo is Wheatley ! He has such a charmingly dorky personality to me, which fits Leo, and I like Leo having this undertone of being in control even when it doesn't seem that way (Though I know Wheatley's story played out a little differently-) ! He's the one who takes care of Donnie's physical body and has the most access to restricted areas with the Labs !
Donnie, of course, is GlaDOs ! He runs the entire facility post the disaster via using his body as a power source (He made a lot of modifications on himself,,), using a robot body to act as his stand in (Kind of like Metalhead 2.0 from the Mutant Apocalypse Arc but has his consciousness inside it like Fugitoid-) ! So his robo self walks around the lab for him ! Donnie can control everything in Aperture, quite honestly !
He has an infatuation with April from the day they met, which is sad considering she barely remembered him and assumed she imagined him- But internalized that pedestal he put her AND her family on ever since, preserving Aperture Science as a love letter to them and hoping the act would put him in their good graces when they returned one day-! He lied to his brothers about that though, claiming it was "too dangerous" to leave (Which was technically a half life, given that was true at the time but later wasn't the case- They could leave by the time they turned 15-16 !). Leo found out eventually, but didn't say anything. It would've been too volatile to call Donnie out at the time, so he waited,, Raph and Mikey are pretty much oblivious the entire time-! Casey integrates into their group well (After Mikey always killed him though- LMAO), and the others enjoy having a new face around the Labs ! Donnie doesn't think he's that great at first, naturally-
Casey gets his Portal Gun as a result of an accident,, ! Casey (sort of) presses Donnie (His robo stan in-) about why they can't leave- He gets a little to close to the truth, which causes Donnie's physical body to panic, resulting in his robot retaliating against Casey believing he was in danger (Donnie's elevated heart rate and sweating sent signals to his robot body-),, So Casey lost his left arm,, And the only solution Leo / Raph / and Mikey could give him was a prosthetic arm with a portal gun attachment , since Donnie was having a mental breakdown over the whole thing and could help,, ! :')

If we got another animated crossover between the turtles, which iterations would you like to see and what do you think would happen?
Personally, I think 2012 and Mutant Mayhem would be super fun given their both more practical / realistic iterations ! But if Mutant Mayhem were to introduce more mystical / magical aspects into it's narrative, then I would absolutely say the Rise! Turtles and Mutant Mayhem !
As far as what would be the threat, I think the introduction of the Kraang and Intergalactic threats to the MM universe would be the best way to go for both ideas ! It gives the outside Turtles a reason to help with the Mutant Mayhem's storyline ! 😌✨

I'll try to give a few of my favorites and a few of my least favorites ! :D ✨
• "Lair Games" ( Season 2, Episode 3B )
Everything about this episode is my favorite thing in the world ! I love the cinematography direction they took with it, I love how it truly captures the essence of a home video meant for friends and family, I love the loveably stupid challenges that encompass said "Lake Games", I love Raph and Mikey's reactions and recountings during their interviews, I love Donnie's drawn out sob, I love how conniving and mischievous Leo is in this episode- They only part I didn't love was the oil / butter showdown between Donnie and Leo at the end (Not only was it strange but to find out people with gross mindsets about siblings storyboarded added onto me feelings about the scene-),, ! But otherwise, a fantastic episode !
• "Mystic Library" ( Season 1, Episode 20A )
I think this episode is so charming ! It did a lot of fun things, like Donnie song / rap about the directions or the stand off with Raph and Leo against the Foot Lieutenants ! Not to mention Mikey's takeover of the kids corner- 😭 / The only thing I wish they'd done differently was allow April to be apart of this silly situation !
• "The Gumbus" ( Season 1, Episode 9A )
This is one of my favorites primarily because of April ! She is so me !! I love spooky / scary things, and to see her laugh and have such a great time during this episode warmed my heart so much ! I also loved the entire plot of the episode in general as a girlie who watches scary shit in the middle of the night myself- 💅✨ Lmao
• "Down With The Sickness" ( Season 1, Episode 4B )
I honestly found this episode really gross, and not in a fun kind of way,, LMAO / I'm not saying it wasn't a fun concept, but the execution fell flat for me personally and it's not an episode I think about rewatching-!
• "Bullhop" ( Season 1, Episode 14B )
Bullhop as a character just annoys me personally,, I wasn't rooting for him, didn't find his obnoxiousness entertaining- I was just waiting for the episode to be over when I watched it for the first time,, Lmao
• "Bad Hair Day" ( Season 2, Episode 9A )
This episode was kind of boring to me-? I know Rise! Leo fans might hate me for saying that, but compared to the other Mystic City antics we see with the rest of the cast, this one didn't really match those stories for me-! So it's not that I think the episode was "bad", just that it felt the weakest of out the four-!
There are so many more episodes I could've included for both, but I decided to keep it at 3 each ! Also, any April centric episodes is one my favorites , just in case that needs to be said ! 💛💚✨
Let me just say I really love the concept art of 2012 April, like I'm glad that they still made her Ginger in the main series but she seemed to have so much personality in those little sketches, I especially like the concept of her being into ballet because it gives her something to do other than hang out with the turtles, like I feel despite the writers clearly trying to make her a very unique and interesting character it falls flat, because all of her character despite having outside forces that play into it just relies heavily on the turtles, as if she has no passions or interesting activities she does outside of hang out in the lair and training with master Splinter sometimes, it makes it feel as if before she met the turtles she was just existing.

It did feel like they were setting her up to be an actual character (Crazy concept, I know- Lmao) and then the execution of that character fell flat,,
But to me, the blame should be directed at the leadership changes that took place behind the scenes from Season 2 onward- It truly felt like someone with a different vision was working on / directing Season 1, and then that person got demoted or maybe got put on a different project that wasn't 2012-?? And then the people that did take over basically ruined everything- 💀
April had a lot of potential to be a really fun character in this version and a part of me does feel saddened that that wasn't the case. 😔
Also, giving 2012 April a background in ballet would've made things far more believable as far as her having the same type of endurance training and athleticism / flexibility as the rest of the Turtles + Karai early on !
What do you think of Mikey2012? I mean, not so much his character in the canon series, but rather how you think his character could have been used, like in his interactions with other characters,his brothers, Splinter, or some villains like the Krang or Shredder.
Also with Donnie, I feel he could have given much more to the series. What are the aspects you think he could have excelled in?

Personally, I always loved the idea of Mikey and April having their own kind of centric plot line within 2012 ! They're the most connected to Dimension X / the Kraang, and I feel like if the writers could've actually committed to April being a big part of the Kraang narrative like they were attempting to do in the first season, Mikey would be a great addition to help that develop ! It also would have been a great way to show Mikey and April's strengths outside of the team ! Like the duo freeing Leatherhead from his capture in Dimension X without the others' involvement !
I also think Mikey would have been a great avenue to help with Saki's redemption had the writers chosen to go that route with Shredder as a character ! Out of all of them, Mikey is the most receptive to actually giving people second chances, And I think in a lot of ways Mikey could have reminded Saki of what his brother (Yoshi / Master Splinter used to be like in their youth-! An expanding on Mikey and relation to Saki / Karai / The Foot Clan, I honestly would have really enjoyed Mikey in 2012 having a similar ultimatum or dilemma with the Hamato Clan and The Foot Clan like he does in the IDW comics ! I think Mikey having a character driven plotline that was taken more seriously than the joke of an episode that was, "The Croaking" from Season 3 would've been really refreshing to see ! Something that truly allows Mikey to make his own conscious choices / his own discernments about those he surrounds himself with-
It honestly would have been incredibly validating to see Mikey view Saki in the same way that I do- That This is a severely mentally ill man who's been through the ringer in multiple different ways-! But also to help him see that his brother is not the enemy either- That their generational feud is the poison, not each other as individuals-! Something tells me 2012 Mikey would be really good at breaking generational curses- 😭
As far as his brothers go in relation to 2012 Mikey, I can't help but feel like a lot of the fault falls on them rather than Mikey-? I know Mikey has his moments where he's very childish and obnoxious, but for the most part he does prove himself to be trustworthy and someone that his loved ones can rely on and they just-?? Refuse to acknowledge that-?? Which of course was such a glaring issue with Mikey's writing in this version overall, as the writers just wanted to keep hammering in the "comical relief" trope at the detriment of everyone- 💀
And you're absolutely right, Donnie also deserved more character driven stories ! I've talked about Donnie a lot in the past, so to avoid regurgitating word vomit that I've already made, I'd suggest reading those ! ☺️👍✨
Ever since I read a ff mentioning how Mikey was dating the Pizza delivery boy. I've thought about it ever since. Especially after learning a pizza delivery guy named Woody Dirkins exists from IDW. I wish that guy was their friend in the show, especially since he is the first person they ever met. Have you ever thought about him before?

I have to admit, I don't personally give him a lot of thought outside of IDW (And In that context, that's pretty much never because I don't think about IDW that often,, ! I love the comics I do I just am not a TMNT comic enthusiast as much as I am a TMNT television / film enthusiast- 😔👍 Lmao),, ! But it is a cute idea for Mikeys in general as far as relationship partners go ! 😌✨
If Jonatello was a villain duo the turtles had to fight instead of part of the team, Mikey would call them Donnie and Clyde. Casey would constantly be yelling shit like “for the last time, it’s not Clyde, it’s CASEY!!” And one of the turtles would say “Yeah whatever, Clyde. Where’s your Bonnie?” Then Donnie’s go “Right behind you.” And then he’d knock them out with his stick so he and Casey could run away with whatever they stole and go make out. Sorry I was possessed by a vision. Why Donnie and Casey are evil and for how long is up to interpretation. But I know in my heart that my vision is true. Personally I like to imagine this is a world where Donnie grew up separately with no one to curb his creepiness or lack of morals. He and Casey do a lot of heists because they like the challenge of robbing extremely high security places.

I have a bigger plot in mind but I'm just not sure how that would happen. How would casey get those powers? At first I had the idea that maybe back in the episode (of 2012 because that's what I'm basing this on) where Casey and April switched bodies, some of her powers followed Casey's brain back to his body, but overtime that didn't seem to make any good sense 💀 so uhm. Yeah!

I have seen, "Stranger Things", so I absolutely know what you're talking about ! I think what's so interesting about psychic abilities, especially in humans, is that it seems like every human has them- Some are just more in tune with those abilities than others ! That the human brain is capable of developing such skills, it just takes the right circumstances to evoke it, you know what I mean? In my honest opinion, the only reason why April had an advantage in this sense is because of the fact that she was a product of experimentation in the womb via her Mother- But Her brain is just like any other human brain, I think? Which makes her similar to Eleven in this way, as a character who was also experimented via having some kind of alteration with their DNA / genetic makeup (AKA Henry's blood-) !
If I were to make a kind of fictional character comparison for Casey in this sense, I honestly lean towards the character of Tetsuo from the film, "Akira" ! He was not somebody born with psychic abilities or anything like that, and managed to acquire them through bizarre circumstances (i.e. Encountering one of the Espers and being taken by the military due to exposure / as well as other plot related reasons but I don't want to spoil too much of film for you if you haven't seen it- It's a phenomenal movie !). Casey could have a similar origin as far as his psychic abilities !
After giving this some thought, I have a couple of ideas you're welcome to use if you'd like for your story / AU ! As you know, I really enjoy trying to make things make sense in a canonical context as much as possible, so that's what a lot of these ideas are ! But you're also completely welcome to think outside the box and go outside of the parameters of canon ! ☺️ :
• Idea #1
Since we don't know a lot about Casey and what he was up to during the first Season of 2012, I think this would be a really good opportunity to use that lack of presence to create a logical explanation ! So what I was thinking was having him be abducted into the Technodrome during the first Kraang invasion (AKA during the two part episode, "Showdown"-) ! The Kraang could have viewed him as a viable test subject (Maybe acknowledging some dormant abilities within him-) ! Attempting to assimilate him into their hivemind in a much more polished fashion, as opposed to their attempt with Kirby O'Neil in this same episode, but being interrupted during that process due to the Turtles (And April technically, I guess- Lmao) thwarting Kraang Prime and damaging the Technodrome ! I could see Casey being in a fight or flight mode during this entire thing, which could explain his escape from the Technodrome, but him not remembering much of it afterwards due to his brain trying to protect himself from trauma-! However, because the process was interrupted, he didn't get assimilated into the hivemind, but DID get the awakening of his psychic powers !
• Idea #2
We don't know much about Dimension X and its effect on humans-! April never got to go in there in the show (Which was criminal-), and Casey only viewed it from afar in that Grand Central Station of Dimensional Travel (As Donnie described it-). So this idea revolves around the two-part episode, "The Manhattan Project / Wormquake!" ! Because we don't know the effects of Dimension X or its inhabitants on humans, there isn't a lot of evidence refuting that direct exposure could cause an awakening of some kind- So What if when Casey got consumed by that Kraathatrogon ("Kraang Worm"), the direct exposure altered his brain chemistry? I think the biggest reason why Dimension X things lack any effect on the Turtles and April is because they have a direct connection- The Turtles have mutagen in their bloodstream and April is quite literally walking retro mutagen due to her having both Kraang (Utrom) and Human DNA (Which technically the Turtles do as well via Splinter, but I digress-). Casey is all around human, so to me, it makes perfect sense that he would be more susceptible to changes via direct exposure !
(Because it's such a similar concept, I didn't want to make it its own idea number- But you could technically do a similar narrative with April's Mother and his awakened psychic abilities being a byproduct of her consuming him in that episode !)
• Idea #3
This one would involve more of a rewrite of an episode and it's plot structure- But what if Casey had been rewarded with the Aeon Crystal / Za-Naron instead of April in, "Riddle of The Ancient Aeons"? I don't know what circumstances would lead to that outcome, but it does seem like a good way to introduce more benevolent powers / capabilities to Casey's character ! It could also give Casey another chance at having this sort of interesting plot line / character development after the events of, "The Weird World of Wyrm" two episodes prior ! I think having a situation like, "The Power Inside Her" but from a Casey perspective would be super fun to play around with ! Especially considering the fact that when Casey was handed such immense power + a lack of accountability for his actions via Wyrm, he refused to let it consume him and managed to do the right thing despite the temptation dangling in his face-
(I'm sorry, but you all know I have a lot of thoughts about April during that Aeon Crystal situation- LMAO)
