nobody, and I mean absolutely nobody can beat a dead horse like the byler fandom. we've analyzed the same 5 scenes over and over and over again for YEARS and still find new ways to be entertained by it. the horse ain't even dead; it's decomposed to the point that it's basically fused with the earth.

I love the fact that if this was any other show, the reveal that Edwin spent decades in hell would have been this Big Shameful Thing that would have taken ages to be revealed and would have ended with someone (probably Crystal) not trusting him because of it. But this isn’t any other show and not only is it revealed in the first episode but it’s also dropped casually as if talking about the weather and Edwin brings it up constantly.

Haunting actually comes naturally to ghosts and the boys have to exert themselves to not do it, because they don’t want to frighten anybody and it might get in the way of cases.

Charles who causes cold spots; Charles who can make a whole room cold enough for the living to see their breath in the middle of summer, if he’s upset enough. Charles who occasionally leaves footprints of muddy water where he walks. Charles who leaves droplets of water running down mirrors after he uses them.

Edwin who has the smell of burning sulfur clinging to him; Edwin who always has the living checking around for a fire. Edwin, whose calculating gaze can make even non-sighted living shiver like they’re being watched. Edwin, who might seem calm, but the electricity surging and fuses blowing gives him away.
