Okay, so I’ve been thinking a lot about Artemis and about her strange “not a scar” thing on her shoulder. In part 3, she seems fine and it looks like that the wound (?) is not there. You can also see Sun even place her hand on Artemis’ shoulder when talking and Artemis doesn’t react like she is in pain at all. In part 6, which is the next part you can clearly see Artemis, she already has her wound and it is bleeding. I was then rereading everything and I noticed something which may not be anything but, I wanted to point out. After closely examining all the monsters, none of them have long range weapons such as bows or crossbows meaning that Artemis couldn’t possibly have been shot. Also, she’s at the top of the cliff, away from the monsters. I also noticed on part 3 that when all the monsters are confused by Artemis light arrows that she shot, the monster all the way to the right has a very odd weapon/tool? It’s shaped like a rectangle and has waves around it which kind of reminds me of magnets. I’m not sure what it is but it could also have magic in it as well. I could just be over thinking it, but all the other monsters have spears and swords while this one has like a hollow, rectangular frying pan. Also, it seems that as the story goes on, her wound is getting worst. When we first see it, she looks like she is fine as she is shooting a bow but, as the story continues though, it’s very obvious that she is hiding it from the others and is even showing pain from it. So, I just have to ask, what is the rectangular weapon the monster is using? Is it just an odd shape weapon or something more?

Ah, you mean this guy from Part 3!

He’s a technoblin from Skyward Sword!

They have these electric baton weapons, and tend to hang around in the Lanayru region— which is where the girls are at in The Founder’s Call.

I didn’t really have anything in mind for him other than spicing up some of the bokoblins to make them a bit more fun to draw (though you can probably assume Flora picked up one of those electric batons 😆).

But now that I’m considering it, I’d like to think he got left behind after Sun or someone else used a timeshift stone a while ago, and kinda just started tagging along with the larger group, at a loss for anything else to do. At some point, he swapped to their clothing too. But he kept the helmet. He thinks it looks cool, and has no idea it resembles a pair of particularly thick human underwear.

As for the rest of what you’ve written…

✨Colors & Light✨

This is the artwork I mentioned deconstructing in order to make Dot’s design page :)

(Bet you didn’t sign up for optics diagrams in your Zelda content either, but here we are 😆)

I find it very appropriate that Dots magic is akin to a Magnifying Glass, something that is used to see Small Things Up Close.

Yes!

And a prism, which is used to split things into their component parts :)

Good catch!!

Layers of symbolism? In my Wisdomverse? It’s more likely than you’d think! 😆

Ah, you mean this one!

The resemblance isn’t completely intentional, but it does fit! I must have had it in mind :).

Funnily enough, this Dot art was inspired by one of my old arts from a few years ago— just a different one: here!

I already had a lot of these theories in progress back then; I’ve just been getting to the point where I can refine and post them. There’s so much to draw, and so little time 🥲. But I’ve gotten better at art since then as well, so that’s a plus!

i noticed you have the icons of all the lu boys on your redbubble but only flora of the wv girls, would you ever consider putting the rest of them up? i’d love to get some stickers of the girlies!!

oh rip I forgot

Yes, definitely! I’ll also add the new style for the LU boys so they match.

Out of curiosity, do folks prefer stickers with the name, or without? I’ll probably default to without.

shouldn’t Dot’s occupation be ‘sorceress’ not ‘sorcerer’?

Avatar

I considered it!

In the end, I decided to keep Sorcerer because it’s the same title as Vaati, and I like the parallel. Less importantly, I didn’t want their titles to imply any additional symbolism, such as associating the feminine title with the good side and the masculine title with the bad side. Especially since Dot’s philosophy is about how no force is innately evil, and that any ability can be used for good or bad.

I’m also personally a fan of gender-neutral titles in fiction, like how Fire Emblem: Three Houses uses the title “Emperor” instead of “Empress” for Lady Edelgard once she ascends to the throne. I think that sort of thing is neat.

Essentially: In Dot’s era, gender doesn’t matter, and the title of Sorcerer can be used by anyone who has mastered an element.

I’ve definitely got more thoughts about Dot as a sorcerer, her connection to the Light Force, and how she uses the elemental crystals. Funnily enough, I actually deconstructed one of my old artworks about this topic and added it to Dot’s design post 😆. Perhaps I’ll try cleaning that and the rest of the relevant art so I can post it sometime soon!

honestly i considered doing something based on @/mirazuwu's drawings of legend's memory of marin fading but once i thought a bit about it i think it would make far more sense if echo actually had a photographic memory

like in Echoes of Wisdom the echoes that you get are never reffered to as "acquired" or "got" they are referred to as "learned" like look:

you Get rupees

but you Learn echoes

this also explains why the cloud and water block echoes dont behave the way normal water and clouds work in the overworld, echo learned them from stilled water and clouds in the still world and since thats how she remenbers the originals this is how they behave as echoes, she is using the tri rod to recreate stuff from her memories

some translations make this even clearer, the PT-BR translation uses the word "memorizar"(memorize) and according to the wiki the same is said for spanish, french and maybe italian? (the word is similar but idk italian to translate :p)

we also know that echo's echoes are extremely accurrate, the only time someone manages to notice its not an original its the gorons during the main quest(honestly its because echo didnt know how rock roast tastes like if you ask me :P they should have let her take a bite XD) every other time not only her echoes are as good as the originals but also can be used to create real things

perhaps thats one of her few conforts after the great decline, after all she knows that no matter what happens, she will never forget silent 🥲

Yes!

Agreed that the only time anyone notices something off about Echo’s echoes is with food— there’s the rock roast, and also iirc that fish you give to the boy south of the Zora area; I vaguely remember trying an echo when I played the game on stream, only to find out that he turns it down in favor of his mom’s actual cooking. (Echo can make powerful smoothies, but she would presumably not be a great cook 😆.)

And as you said; the Echo|Wild parallel between Echo having an amazing memory and Wild forgetting everything works out really well! Apparently, Wild forgot everything except tastes, and Echo remembers everything except tastes.

On a relevant note, I’ve also been portraying Legend as having a really good memory. Four even remarks upon it as Legend perfectly describes a specific encounter he faced 10 whole years ago to Four in Ch12 of TSWK. (Shoutout to this chapter of @zarvasace’s fic; I think this is what introduced me to the “Legend has near-perfect memory” hc back in 2022)

Considering the many (intentional) parallels between Legend and Echo, the fact that Echo also has a great memory makes even more sense!

Design page for Wisdomverse Dot!

Shoutout to @kiriekonamistan for the headcanon that Dot’s mother is Wind Tribe— I love it! Makes sense, with Dot’s repeated struggles against the Wind Mage Vaati, and her later imprisonment by Shadow atop the Tower of Winds. Also fitting that Earth is the opposite of Wind, and Dot resists all magic except the petrification spell at the start of Minish Cap.

This also works well with how I wanted to portray Dot’s family in WV. I think it would be neat if Dot’s mother is alive— she’s just separated/divorced from Dot’s father, and lives with her extended family in Cloud Tops. Dot visits her every now and then, but stays on the Surface with her father most of the time.

Also, shoutout to @wishyoudwell for being a large part of what convinced me to make Dot’s hair even more wavy/curly than it already was. It really does look nice this way! :)

Hello, I don‘t know if you answer asks, but for research purposes I need to know each of the zel‘s opinion on the sand paper floor room, which ones would consider it as a punishment for ganondorf or other various villains for example if the zel‘s even consider torture methods. This question is very weird but trust me it’s all in the name of science

Avatar

Hahahaha okay, this one’s an interesting question for sure!

I’m not sure the sandpaper room would be an effective torture method on some of the villains, to be honest. Ganon grew up in a desert. He probably knows how to deal with sand. Or he’d give himself magic/phantom armor and sleep like a baby, and then bust out when he’s ready. Yuga would just phase into the wall, Vaati can float, and Ghirahim can teleport.

But if we’re assuming that the torture would work (or assuming some other torture that does)…

Would the Zeldas consider torture?

  • Dawn would never. She sees the good in everyone. Actual moblins were swayed to the side of good in Zelda 1 because they took pity on her plight and couldn’t bear to see her essentially being psychologically tortured by Ganon.
  • Lullaby would definitely want to. The Sheikah torture rooms implied by OoT confirm that torture was present in that era, and Lullaby was trained by Impa in more than just combat. In the words of Leda: there are people Lullaby hates so much that killing them would not satisfy her. We’ll probably get to who and why in Time’s Refrain. But despite wanting to torture someone, she may not actually do it. The difference is that Lullaby is also very practical. Even if someone deserves to be tortured in her eyes, she wouldn’t do it if it would harm her reputation or if it wouldn’t benefit her in any way. She’ll go for the optimal response. Even if she wishes otherwise.

The rest of them find torture much more situational.

Artemis and Dusk might— Artemis if she hated someone enough; Dusk if it would give her answers she desperately needed. Fable prefers charm over torture: why cause pain when you can convince/manipulate them over to your side?

The rest probably wouldn’t consider it unless under really dire circumstances.

(All previous theories/analyses at #lin thinks!)

Avatar

i do think some relevant points where raised there btw, i can see dot being knowledgeable on the subject and while i dont think she(or most of the girls for that matter) would torture someone i think monster torture is a significantly lower bar

i feel like echo is the most likely to do it to monsters btw, she does have a functionally infinite supply of test subjects(her echoes) and often shows curiosity toward the monsters she summons often taking notes on them she probably would experiment on them

Hahahaha, oh yeah— Dot totally would!

I agree: I’ve always portrayed her as just a bit unhinged, a character trait that I like to think manifested from her experiences in Minish Cap, and was only exacerbated by her time with Shadow. There’s a reason she happily told Fable that the Fire Element will “burn the flesh off [Fable’s] bones so fast she won’t have time to scream” back in Part 6 of Wielders. Very good point by you and Wish; I’m so glad other folks see the vision!

Unfortunately, Dot… doesn’t really have anyone left that she wants to torture in her era. She kind of already got rid of everyone that meant her harm, and she did it with a smile 😇. But Dot would help Lullaby or the others torture someone! Honestly, I could see Flora going for it as well. She’s a bit of a mad scientist. In both of their cases— as with Dusk or Artemis— only under dire circumstances.

As for Echo, her committing monster experimentation and starting fight rings is practically canon lolllll— the implications of this with the friendly moblins from Dawn’s era are interesting indeed. But monsters in Zelda are, in most eras, different from the sentient races in that they’re implicitly evil. Torturing a person and a monster are different in the Zelda series. So Dawn would have to convince Echo that some monsters in her era have developed their own identities. Once she does, Echo would probably stop experimenting with them without at least asking first.

In short: Young Echo would freely mess around with the Echoes. If Present Day Echo had access to Echoes, she would still experiment, but with consent— I view the Echoes as helpful manifestations of the monsters’ existences, sorta like the Emblem Rings from FE Engage but more animalistic. The Echoes probably don’t mind. They’re clearly down to go along with what Echo tells them to do.

Like the others, (except maybe Lullaby) Echo would also have some moral issues with torturing a person.

But… if Echo got a crack at Dawn’s Ganon or the Wizard… well, there’s no telling what she’d manage to come up with 😈

You know how Four asked Legend about a companion on his third(?) adventure in TSWK? Who was it?

Avatar

Answer implied in the Ch13 flashback of TSWK— Four was talking about Shadow!

The Chain only knows the story of FSA as told in the games. None of them were aware that Four befriended his Dark, and Four really didn’t want to tell them, especially considering what Sky says in Ch10:

Sky’s gaze drops to the floor. “In retrospect, I was wrong to hesitate. Of course I was wrong to hesitate. I was naive and scared of killing for the first time. Demise was no Ghirahim, who was forged by the Goddess and might have had a chance; he was no Groose, who chose benevolence in the end. Demise was formed of pure malice, like all creatures of the dark.”
Four shudders visibly and pulls his bedroll closer around him.

Four assumes the Chain would insult Shadow’s memory, mistrust Four, or almost worse, condescend towards Four for having been so naive as to trust a manipulative Dark.

Four doesn’t want to have to deal with that. Not while the memory of Shadow’s last sacrifice is still so raw.

so before echos of wisdom did you have any plans in mind for aurora/echo? because now it seems to be her main focus (not that i'm complaining. i love seeing more echo) i'm just curious if you had any scrapped or changed plans after you decided to make aurora echo

Avatar

Ah, I’ve answered this one before!

Surprisingly, very little has been removed. EoW fit in very well with my plans for Wisdomverse. It has pretty much only added to Aurora’s character. There is one thing Aurora used to know that Echo now doesn’t, but other than that, her arc is basically the same :).

2025: A Year in Colors 🎨

Art vs artist, except I picked one artwork for each color because I love color-coding things :)

Proud of everything I finished this year! Special mention to the comics as well— they’re not represented in this graphic, but Echo of the Past and As I Recall absolutely deserve a mention alongside the continuation of the main Wisdomverse series <3

Here’s to another great year of art!

What are your settings for procreate? My line art is so pixelated it’s not even funny. Also brush recommendations if you have any. Love your art!!!

Avatar

Thank you!!

Here’s the canvas settings for my Wisdomverse post-TotK Flora/Wild art from earlier. I usually use something like this, or a little smaller if it’s not a full artwork. As for brushes, I use a bunch of heavily customized ones based off of stuff I downloaded so long ago that I no longer remember where I got them. My favorite brush is literally just called, “Good Pencil” lol.

If you feel like your art is pixelated, it could be that your canvas is too small, or it could be that your brush is too sharp— try either using a larger canvas or a “softer” brush, like the ones from the Sketching tab in Procreate.

In the end though, it’s all up to personal taste. My friend Dust, for example, uses only sharp brushes since she prefers the more clear look they give vs the softer, more shaded look from the brushes I use.

You should feel free to try a bunch of things and find what works best for you!

Avatar

@danger-noodle3 Heck yeah; the murder-Zeldas are amazing 😈

On the topic of art, I use Procreate for iPad!

Feels like a good time to reblog some of my settings + a few opinions, for folks who may not have seen it.

I also stream art on Mondays. Anyone who’s interested, please feel free to stop by and chat then! Always happy to answer any questions or give whatever tips I can :).
