You know how Four asked Legend about a companion on his third(?) adventure in TSWK? Who was it?

Answer implied in the Ch13 flashback of TSWK— Four was talking about Shadow!

The Chain only knows the story of FSA as told in the games. None of them were aware that Four befriended his Dark, and Four really didn’t want to tell them, especially considering what Sky says in Ch10:

Sky’s gaze drops to the floor. “In retrospect, I was wrong to hesitate. Of course I was wrong to hesitate. I was naive and scared of killing for the first time. Demise was no Ghirahim, who was forged by the Goddess and might have had a chance; he was no Groose, who chose benevolence in the end. Demise was formed of pure malice, like all creatures of the dark.”
Four shudders visibly and pulls his bedroll closer around him.

Four assumes the Chain would insult Shadow’s memory, mistrust Four, or almost worse, condescend towards Four for having been so naive as to trust a manipulative Dark.

Four doesn’t want to have to deal with that. Not while the memory of Shadow’s last sacrifice is still so raw.

For a while, I’ve been meaning to change some of the profession names that were a little confusing in Wisdomverse— specifically the ones for Dusk, Flora, and Dot. Scholar, scientist, and sage are technically the most accurate names for their professions, but they’re not unique enough imo.

I already changed Echo’s profession name from “dreamer” to “relic” after the merge. And I feel like Flora -> “inventor” and Dusk -> “historian” works better as well, so I’m pretty set on that.

Thinking of what to use for Dot… maybe “sorcerer,” since her focus is in crafting elemental/magic items and spells?

Will have to decide…

(Also, shoutout to the tags about Dusk being a historian on desmess’s very cute Zelda artwork here (check it out!) for the reminder! I’ve been talking about changing the professions for so long; I should finally do it 😆)

Mage is a good one, but I actually kinda like the slightly dark connotation of “sorcerer” for Dot!

(Also, good point on Witch, and either way, I’m reserving that title for Maple and Syrup. They’re not Zeldas, but they’re clearly more witchy than anyone else in the series lol)

Not that Dot is evil or anything; it’s just that she’s definitely a little scary. She’s always smiling and really peaceful and calm, but she’s got that enigmatic aura that makes you wonder whether she’s really on the side of light (truth is, she’s just figured out that dark ≠ evil).

Dot and Shadow really grew to care about each other when she was imprisoned at the top of the Tower of Winds. Which is partly why Dot of all people understands that folks can have both light and dark within them :).

Sorcerer would also be a cool parallel to Vaati (so would Mage):

Vaati is a Sorcerer of Wind.

Dot would be a Sorcerer of the Four Elements— and even without the elements to channel her magic through, she is at base the “Sorcerer of Light”.

That title implies how magically powerful she is (watch her casually deflect the magic attack that took out her father at the beginning of Minish Cap), and also balances out the good and evil connotations nicely, even more so than “Mage of Light,” I feel. So I definitely favor it at the moment.

Legend has no fucking clue what’s going on.

For a few short moments, everything was fine. For a few short moments, Four forgave him. But then he started asking questions, and now—

Four reaches for his sword and there’s a flash of light, a jumble of colors, and a shout.

“Wait!”

“Vi—”

“STOP.”

Legend stumbles backwards. When his vision clears, he gasps. There’s a blade aimed at his chest.

Fellow fans of the FSA manga, this one’s for you :)

Just two shadows who escaped a life of abuse and villainy, now chillin’ together in peace.

All the evil chain accounts— and the latest chapter of The Secrets We Keep— motivated me to draw Shadow again. He’d definitely approve of the evil chain; 10/10.

I’ve drawn at least a few different Zelda crossovers now, so I’ve decided to collect them all in one place! You can find them in the Wisdomverse Masterpost linked below.

Hello (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)

First of all I'd like to say that I absolutely adore your art; you have a truly incredible style whether in drawing or writing ( I devoured your fanfictions on the Linked universe and I can't wait for the sequel ! ). Really don't stop because it's really a pleasure to see each of your posts!

Then, and I apologize if the question has already been asked and I missed it, but if this is not a spoiler I would have liked to know if we were going to see Shadow link again on one of your works? I discovered your account a long time ago thanks to your incredible fanart of Four and Shadow (I really love what you did with the design of Shadow by the way! ) and I know he's mentioned in ''The Secrets We Keep'' a few times but I must admit I have a huge soft spot for him and Four ( definitely my 5 favourites >v< ) and I sincerely hope we'll see them interact again (◍•ᴗ•◍)

Again feel free to ignore the question if it counts as spoilers!!! Thank you so much for your incredible work ! This is a happiness of every moment to see and I can not wait every time to see the sequel!!! ( But don't overwork yourself !!! Take all the time you need and want !!! )

Bye bye ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧

Thank you so much!!! It’s very nice to receive comments like this; I really appreciate them.

It cannot be overstated how much I love the Four Swords Adventures manga. It was the first manga I ever read, and since I’d only played a few Zelda games before I read it, it shaped my view of the Zelda series quite a bit. And even if I didn’t love the FSA manga so much, I still personally prefer to keep Shadow because his existence adds such a unique spin to Four and Dot.

Both Four and Dot spent a lot of time with Shadow— Four as Vio in the Tower of Flames, and Dot when she was imprisoned atop the Tower of Winds. Both of them love him, were affected by him (Four’s dramatic streak and Dot’s love of dark humor), and miss him dearly.

In any case, to answer your question, all I’ll say is: Shadow and the FSA manga are canon to the Wisdomverse (includes both Wielders and TSWK). Bit of a non-answer, but I really can’t say anything more at the moment :)
