Here’s a few color pencil sketches I’ve made of some cool Cretaceous dinosaurs, from bottom to top: Utahraptor ostrommaysi, Iguanodon bernissartensis, two Deinonychus individuals compared in size to my human oc Samantha, and Centrosaurus apertus!
Various sketches I’ve made of some Cretaceous dinosaurs, including conceptual studies of Triceratops and T.rex. The Edmontosaurus sketch is based off the well-preserved Dakota specimen and the throat pouch of the male T.rex is inspired by one that was once found on a Tarbosaurus specimen.
Happy 200th Birthday Iguanodon, and Happy Valentine's Day! This iconic European dinosaur, whose fossils have been found in Belgium, England, Germany and Spain dating from around 126-122 million years ago in the Barremian Stage of the Early Cretaceous, is celebrating its bicentennnial birthday this week, and here in what will one day be the Wessex Formation, an amorous pair of I.bernissartensis consisting of a female at the right and a male at the left bond together under a magenta sunset sky as an Istiodactylus passes by.
