ALRIGHT, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY MUTUALS AND PEOPLE WHO USE THE BYLER TAG, PLEASE HELP OUT WITH THIS.
People are review bombing the 7th episode of the 5th season of Stranger Things.
If any of you have an IMDb account, PLEASE give it a 10/10.
People like Elon Musk are using the low reviews the episode is getting (due to it being a little cringe) to say queer rep shouldnt exist.
We. Cant. Let. That. Shit. Happen.
So please, if you're reading this, try to give it a good review. We need this right now.
im not saying that cutgate is fully real, but im also not saying it's false. like a lot of it does make sense. like i really dont think that there would be this much lying from the cast if there wasnt anything cut, also if there werent any cuts then the bts photos in the wheelers house make no sense, and a lot of the scenes are very disconnected. so, yeah, the theory makes a lot of sense.
im also not taking blame off the duffers though. like if in the end cutgate isnt real, then its real fucking crazy to mess up your show so much that people think you cut out a shit ton of stuff from it. also not harrassing the cast or anything for this because thats childish behaviour and i dont partake in that. ALSO dont go harassing people who like fully believe in this theory. like dont be toe rags and harass people
yk they also messed up the pattern where the # season x # episode is supposed to have the most vulnerable byler scene
season 1 x ep 1: will not being able to lie to mike
season 2 x ep 2: “crazy together”
season 3 x ep 3: the byler rain fight
season 4 x ep 4: the “you didn’t have to” scene
so unless you count the single hug at the start of ep five they messed up the pattern, which is another thing that pmo abt vol 2
can i just say that mike and will’s relationship has CONSISTENTLY been the most focused on/important relationship in the show???
like season one, obviously it had mike being adamant in searching for will. even with el, mike mostly was with her because he was searching for will. he didn’t gaf abt her for half the season otherwise.
season two, while yes was mike wishing for el to come back, he still didn’t try very hard to find her. he was still mostly worried for will with the mindflayer and ALSO the whole “crazy together” scene. they confided in each other and created a safe space and mike was therefore able to provide information to help will.
season three—i’d say this is the least byler heavy season and el’s and mike’s breakup did overshadow a little bit, but their relationship is still important!! i’d say this season specifically focused on mike’s feelings—yes, more subtly than will’s in season four, but still focused!!—for example in the rain fight and at the end with the byers moving.
season four was obviously the season where will’s feelings were revealed and made canon. his feelings were crucial in him being bob the builder and fixing mike’s and el’s flailing love. will’s calling of mike being “the heart” also pushed mike into becoming the leader again. mike not being able to say i love you to el was also a big focus.
season five—mike’s and will’s relationship was crucial here for will to gain his power’s and save mike, robin, and lucas—will’s feelings were also a big role in vol 1. So far, there has been very little talk of mileven AT ALL.(im not fucking talking about volume 2)
both of their arcs are intertwined with each other and not having them be endgame is both a disservice to the fans, but also a huge disservice to the show and character arcs.
