Twenty seconds of insane courage brought me here. | Chaotic mess of a blog.

the underlying comedy of Catching Fire is that Peeta is rooting hard for Team Gale while Katniss “[chooses] Gale and the rebellion” and then proceeds to be the most unhinged Team Peeta stan to never have internet access

Peeta's "I just want Katniss to be happy and I think that's not with Peeta" vs Katniss's "if Katniss doesn't end up with Peeta I'm killing myself"

I love jokes like these where its like "oh te-he they're exaggerating for comedic effect" but no. This isn't even a little bit of a stretch. Its simply an accurate summary of the authentic levels of insane these two are serving

Writer culture is impulsively posting the first chapter of an uncompleted work because you’re starved for interaction and suddenly realising the crushing expectations you have placed on yourself as people begin to comment how excited they are for the next chapter.

thinking about the possibility of langdon really holding onto mel during his absence. and being so eager to have that person back in his orbit. only the mel he reuinites with is someone entirely different. the 10 month gap has proven to grow mel’s confidence, leadership, but she’s missing that little sparkle in her eye. the one she used to get when she correctly diagnosed a patient, or when frank would praise her work.

and i know what you’re thinking, he only knew her that one day, but the impact of someone like her lingers. when he asks around, they brush off his question with a shrug of their shoulders and a simple “she’s always been like that”.

cut to kingdon break room floor scene because that’s of course happening in season 2. frank thinks this is as good a time as any to ask her how she has been. “it’s been fine”, mel says, her eyes stuck on the floor. “mel”, frank says. she glances at him before returning her eyes to the floor. “it was challenging. still is, i guess. i know that i’m not easy to get, or understand, and coming into a new place will always have its challenges. but that first day, i was so certain i would be okay”, she turns to catch his gaze before continuing, “you made me feel like i would be okay”. she holds his gaze for a second more before looking away.

it is in this moment when frank realizes his absence had just as much of an affect on her as her absence did to him. but before he can respond, dana is in the doorway, allerting an incoming trauma.

later, robby approaches frank, pulling him aside. “i noticed you’ve been sticking close to dr. king today”. a question or statement, frank doesn’t know, so he just nods his head, hoping robby has more to say than that. “she’s been doing really well, during your absence, and i’d hate to see her get turned around”. frank shakes his head in disbelief, not because of the dig at him, but of his presumption of mel, an outward assessment only.

“robby, i can say with full confidence, that i remember everything about her from that first shift, and i am aware that she has changed a lot over the last 10 months, i’ll give you that, but it you were truly watching out for her, you’d recognize that she’s drowning. it was the first thing i noticed when i walked back in here today, so i’m sorry, but fuck you opinion. i’m not leaving her. not again.” frank doesn’t wait for robby to respond, instead he sets off in search of mel.
