Poverty sucks bc what do you mean Lola just got 400 bucks but bc of hotel feels and no apartment half of it's gonna be gone. And she has to pay for her English proficiency test ($200 USD) AND find an apartment. But she can't do all this with the same 400 dollars, especially not since we don't know when an apartment is going to become available or even where.
Thank you to all the people who've donated so far. You're doing the real work of making sure this woman lives to see another day. She still needs help though, and she still has the goal of getting to Germany for safety and so she can finally actually thrive.
I hope I'm not asking too much by asking for help to get her a new laptop so that she can get a new job online. A new laptop would run her about 300-500 dollars in Nigeria, depending on the brand. Is there a way we can get allies to finance this quickly so that she can get back to work and make money for herself?

This is the case for Elaf Babiker and her family. All of them have evacuated from Sudan and are residing in Egypt. Since they are in Cairo, everything is difficult to afford. Yesterday, ThomasSerena received news from the community kitchen he's supporting that waterline in the neighborhood broke. The kitchen had to use most of the money Thomas sent them to buy replacement parts and bring in water tankers so the community could have access to water.
After paying for those needs, the kitchen is now behind on their operating costs. It is highly likely ThomaSerena will have to take on more debt to help them because donations have been so slow. He is one man trying to do the work of an entire aid organization by supporting this kitchen and families in Sudan who've reached out to him for help. He is stressed enough and does not need to add more debt to his load.

the thing fantasy racism doesn't understand about real racism, and honestly all bigotry, is that it's silly. like on its face it is absurdly silly. it follows zero logic at all. trying to backfill it with reason and logic belies a misunderstanding of this. so when you say the bigotry a class of fantasy people face is due to some event in the past, or some inherent danger to them, some genetic predisposition, or anything else to make it make sense, you're giving credence to the idea that bigotry makes logical sense. which it doesn't. it never has.
