them putting the shot of mike and el reuniting in the desert with will in the middle of them in the bg was actually so cruel

very sad that the beautiful slow burn relationship of byler was 'resolved' by mike apparently not even clocking that will was in love with him but also by the writers deciding to twist the knife in further with the 'friends? no way.' line. big sigh. lots of people are going to say it wasn't queerbait too, despite it being one of the worst queerbaits of all TV ever 🥲at least will byers is happy

so the duffers literally didn't include the scene of mike and will talking after will's coming out originally. and noah had to ask them to write it. what the hell 😭

i'm so annoyed that will didn't even get a dialogue scene with his supposed new boyfriend/ love interest or anything. literally a three second clip of them together. this is the boy who has yearned for love for years and we don't even get to see it.

mike writing on his typewriter with will's painting up on his wall healed something inside of me but also destroyed something inside of me

oh so we didn't even get a scene where mike acknowledges that will's in love with him. okay.

this is probably my last post before season 5, so i just wanted to say that whatever happens i love you byler community!!! stranger things has been my special interest for just over two years now, and i've been watching the show for what seems like forever, and the byler community in general and on tumblr are such a funny, kind, supportive and brilliant part of it. we may get horrifically queerbaited in the finale, or it may be a wonderful plot twist with everything we've dreamed about for years happening-- but, whatever happens, being a part of the byler community has been such a wonderful experience and i hope the community doesn't die out after season 5. thank you all for existing and remember that byler will always live on with our creative minds no matter what happens. ahhh i can't believe it's going to be over in just 7 hours (it was a seven?) byler foreverrrrrr

before the finale tomorrow, i just want to say that in my opinion if they 'resolve' byler with mike saying 'hey i'm glad you came out but i don't feel that way about you. you'll always be my best friend though. no homo though.' that is just cruel and also bad writing. you don't have a character go through so much trials and suffering, have life be "unfair" (as quoted by hopper in the finale trailer) to him, then give him hope in his love for his best friend just to destroy it like that. and you don't spend 4 seasons building up a ship and building up one character's love for another just to have it 'pay off' with a measly rejection. that makes no sense and is textbook queerbait. of course, it's not over till the final credits roll, and i'm sure there will be beautiful moments in this finale, but it's not looking good right now.

did we ever get will's 'everything...changed' line that was in one of the first teasers???
