I don't mind the character designs in Pixar's upcoming film Elemental at all but the one thing that bugs me is how they don't really do anything special with their eyes. Everybody has the same Standard Pixar Eyeballs, like they bought a bunch of doll eyes in bulk and stuck them in everyone's faces.

Honestly that's something I've noticed with a lot of Pixar characters; no matter what species they are or what material they're made of, they all have more or less the same eyeball shape and design; just a perfectly round cue ball with an iris and pupil. The only exceptions that immediately come to mind are the robots from WALL-E and some toys from the Toy Story franchise.

As some of you may have guessed by now, I'm a D&D lore whore. While I've played plenty of tabletop RPGs, I've never actually played D&D proper, but even so I love reading all the various descriptions in the Monster Manual and other guidebooks about monsters, magic items, and the multiverse.

Although one thing that always bugged me was how, while the descriptions for various planes of existence were varied and inspiring, they rarely included illustrations for such places. So I decided to try and draw up a couple of the classical Elemental Planes (Air and Fire) to flex my environmental drawing muscles. --- One of my "Midweek Moleskines", a series of sketches previously exclusive to my Patreon.
