I'm getting too comfortable yapping here

@panicloser

yapper - multifandomer - procrastination writer - this blog is very unorganised I just talk about whatever I want, mostly stuff related to fiction - they/them - 18 - ADHD

My dream job is incessantly endlessly yapping about inane things in fiction only I care about

However if someone else happens to care too that would be a nice touch <3

Jackie Taylor did the thing that every teenager wants to do at least once — die after a petty argument so that everyone will feel fucking guilty for the rest of their lives

Fucked up that I still get a period even tho I'm never gonna use this shit, pregnancy & giving birth terrifies me in every way, I'm never gonna use this shit! You're just putting me through this for shits and giggles

Excuse me☝️I would like to cancel my monthly piss blood subscription please

I would like to board the hysterectomy express🚂

Guys I need to break it to you

Ya'll need to stop taking everythinggg Gooseworx says online seriously because 90% of the things she says online are a joke

I mean I don't know her but like I've just seen so many things she's said that are obviously jokes and people discussing it like it's completely serious

The posts about telling people to NOT harass others over shipping or about the show in general are serious tho, stop doing that

I think having social anxiety makes it harder to tell the difference between platonic and romantic attraction

A crush is supposed to make you nervous, get your heart racing

EVERYONE makes me nervous and gets my heart racing because people are scary

You're supposed to get inordinately excited about positive interactions with them

I get inordinately excited about EVERY positive interaction with someone because it's a big accomplishment for me

You're supposed to think about them a lot, think a lot about even the small interactions you have with them

I think a lot about my interactions with EVERYONE, wondering over whether I did well or not and what I should do in the future

I think I can tell the difference, it does feel different but it's just extra hard to tell because I can't use those typical examples as proof

And it's even harder to explain. No idea how to express the difference, idk it's the same as platonic attraction but like...sparkly...?

The misogyny of easily being able to find several old/older man picrews but struggling to find & only finding like 2 old/older woman picrews

You see this in the way parents are drawn in animation too, both in western cartoons and anime, the dad looking his age and the mom without a wrinkle to be found

Wrinkles do not make women ugly!!! Stop this propaganda! Let me make more older women on picrew please!!

I actually think Minecraft is a great metaphor for how we follow a specific path in life despite the amount of freewill we have

Minecraft is similar to life in that it has really no rules, other than physical limits, no one way to play, you can basically do whatever you want in this game

and YET, because there is this set certain path that has been expressed:

'chop wood, mine, upgrade tools, work your way towards killing the ender dragon'

that's the path that most people follow and conform too when playing because that's what you think you're supposed to do in order to "succeed at the game" "to beat the game"

just like in real life, we have been told certain paths in life will lead us to success in life:

'doing good at school completing it, going to higher education, getting certain jobs, getting married, having kids'

and if you don't do these things, you're supposedly not succeeding, not doing what you're supposed to

But the game, the world itself doesn't push you to follow this path! The game isn't beaten after you kill the ender dragon, just like life doesn't end or reward you when you do these things. Within reason, you can do whatever you want in Minecraft, you can do whatever you want in life, and yet we do this one path over and over because we have been made to feel like we're supposed to, and that's why people get bored of the game and that's why people get bored of life

you don't have to get bored. Because

YOU. CAN. DO. ANYTHING.

We are living in a sandbox game. The world itself is not asking you to do anything, the only thing asking anything of you is your emotions that tell you when you're happy and sad.

If you genuinely enjoy doing the path to kill the Ender Dragon, you can do that! But if something else might be more fun for you, you can do that!

...do I sound crazy?

Rewatched the Hazbin Hotel pilot last might and god it's justtt

It's so much BETTER

Words cannot describe the way that I grieve what the pilot was, the writing, the art, the voice acting, almost everything about, it was written so much better

I mourn what this was so much, please take me to the alternate reality where it stayed like that, where it stayed as an indie project, please🙏

I've seen a decent amount of discussion on the scene in Beach Episode where Zooble and Gangle have a conversation in Caine's office, especially on Jax's reaction to said conversation. The most common reading among the TADC subreddits that I saw was that Jax, triggered by Zooble and Gangle reaffirming how much they mean to each other, started remembering something about his relationship with Ribbit and began to hyperventilate.

I have a bit of a different theory on Jax’s reaction, however. Here's the transcript of the conversation for reference:

Gangle: A-Are... Are we still gonna be friends when we're... out there?
Zooble: Why wouldn't we be?
Gangle: It's just... gonna be strange. I've only known you like this. Will it be the same when it's... real?
Zooble: It always was real. Everything we felt. Everything we've done. Everything we are. It'll never leave us. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
Gangle: (laughs and sniffles) Thank you... for always being there when I needed. (laughs tearfully as Jax pants softly.)

I personally don't believe Jax's reaction is mainly because their conversation is bringing up thoughts of Ribbit, I think he's actually reacting to what Zooble is saying: the possibility that everything they felt, done, and are was real.

Jax’s coping mechanism depends on three assumptions: that the Circus isn’t real, that the others aren’t fully people, and that his actions therefore have no lasting moral weight. Zooble's words directly challenge all three at once. This is why I think he responded so viscerally to this conversation. Their conversation threatens the one belief that allows him to function in the Circus: that nothing here truly matters. If Jax actually considers this possibility, that everything they experienced was real, then so was the harm he caused. He has been mistreating real people that were trapped in this situation with him for years. All of the cruelty and abuse that he inflicted on others as a “joke” would be recontextualized in his mind.

Accepting Zooble’s perspective would mean accepting that the people he’s treated as playthings were real people all along, and that’s something Jax just isn’t prepared to face yet.
