Hayworth and Welles kept the ceremony secret, and Hayworth returned to the film set the next day.

#sweet smell of success#shadow of a doubt#films#🎬.mp4#i get why they axed jj witnessing susie's suicide attempt for the finale's trap scenario but i was still struck by these moments#charles and hunsecker equally affected (and more so than in any other scene)#not out of any real guilt for the ruin they've made of other lives but for the way the ones they love most in the world are looking at them#and knowing they've lost them forever despite the final desperate bid to keep them for themselves forever (dead or alive)#also the identical cries from charlie and susie... “don't touch me!”#anyway. i need to do a ssos rewatch soon and read the novella
