Markiplier and Ethan Nestor (also depends on the clip. But in the clip where they get caught cooking with sex toys, Ethan is Toast Mark is Ghost. Mark does look a bit more like Toast tho.)

ghost was born and grew up in a small southern town, therefore i think he'd fuck with country music and by extension country metal
also i'm pretty sure i said this in another post but he also has a southern accent, or more accurately a mix of a general american accent, a southern accent, and a british accent (and he uses southern words and phrases)
he sounds just generally american most of the time, going in and out of the other two, expect when he's angry, then the southern really comes out
I’ve been giving Ghost more southern speech patterns, and even some narration, in my fics recently. It’s a lot of fun, especially when it’s contrasted with Toast’s Properness in his dialogue and POV.

i find it interesting that on two occasions (that i can think of) toast doesn't know ghost's birthday (in reality it was probably just them not wanting to say a date) but like, does anyone know ghost's birthday ? (including ghost)
i mean ghost might know his birthday. in the video [Johnny Ghost's BIRTHDAY Party! - Gmod Acachalla Roleplay] he says it's not his birthday, but then never answers when his birthday is. this is one of the times toast doesn't know his birthday, because he asks when ghost's birthday is
the other time is during the puppet arc, the video is [GHOST HUNTERS! - Gmod Scary Horror Map (Garry's Mod)], when toast is having a dream / nightmare and when asked to try to put ghost's birthday into a key pad he hesitates and just says "19....86?? ....I don't know!", but this could also be due to him dreaming so maybe shit is fucked (but he also doesn't know it's a dream till the end)
cuz you'd think he should know his birthday considering they are childhood friends, but if ghost's childhood was fucked up to the point were he's a "different guy" now then it wouldn't be too surprising that his birthday got lost
and by "different guy" i'm kinda going off the gregory casket / johnny ghost connection, where it looks like this child was just abandoned in a house for a while. regardless his childhood was some kind of fucked
tho in my au / headcanons ghost has 2 birthdays: the day he was actually born on (being oct 31st) and his new birthday being sometime in july. which he got this birthday based on the day toast found him abandoned in the casket manor. and because of information being lost or something this is now his legal birthday
My hc is that his birth parents just simply didn’t get him a birth certificate. Like his mom had him at home with zero medical intervention, and they kept him inside the house enough that no one really knew about him. Until The Horrors,(I have some very specific headcannons about what exactly happened, but I don’t wanna get into that here) which caused him to be brought into foster care, where they got him an actual birth certificate, and just estimated the date.
So not only does he not know his birthday, he doesn’t even know how old he is with complete accuracy. There is a non zero change he’s a whole year older or younger than he thinks. I dunno if this would be the practice in the US when he was found, but I like to imagine they estimated the year based on his development (probably hard to figure, cuz he was malnourished as fuck) and put his legal birthday as Jan 1st, as like. The default.

Can’t remember if I’ve talked about this here before, but we all know Toast’s player model- after the first one got yeeted- is based on Alan Wake, right?
Okay so I didn’t know that for YEARS, and only found out relatively recently. Some time last year, if I remember correctly. And the way I found out is that I was watching a video essay on horror games, as I often do, and it kept switching to footage of Alan Wake and I was like “Wait. Wait a god damn minute. That’s my boy right there. That’s my bread man. That’s him.”
I didn’t know if I was just seeing shit though, and it was different enough that I wasn’t 100% sure. So I took a screenshot and sent it to the only other person I knew then that liked vtale, and asked if they saw it too.
AND THEY TOLD ME “no that doesn’t look like him to me” SO FOR MONTHS AFTER THAT I HAD A WHOLE CRISIS THINKING THAT I WAS JUST SO PIE BRAINROTTED THAT I WAS HALLUCINATING MY WEREWOLF BLORBO ON SOMETHING COMPLETELY UNRELATED.
I felt SO fucking validated when it got confirmed for me.
Subspace would cure Johnny Toast’s alcoholism- HEAR ME OUT
He’s the most uptight person known to man. Grew up with the idea that expressing literally any negative emotion, or even positive ones that are too much, would get him punished. Because he needs to hold up the family reputation.
And he’s internalized that so hard that it’s impossible for him to completely let the mask down.
That’s one of the reasons he was drawn to alcohol in the first place- it forced his brain to chill the fuck out for a bit.
He’s also got a super Catholic Guilt coded complex about sex, and anything relating to it. The only way I can see him losing his virginity, atleast as a teenager, is if he was drunk enough to break through the fear, and even then it went poorly because he was still overly anxious, and once he sobered up he had a full on panic attack over it.
But as an adult, Ghost is there, and makes him feel safe. He goes into subspace at the drop of a hat because his brain is so desperate for a way to calm the fuck down, even just for a moment. Ghost knows how to calm him down if he gets anxious, too. So Toast finally has a healthy way to drop the mask, and let himself breathe for a while.

AITA for accidentally poisoning the president of the United States with alien ‘chicken’, and then making my partner help me cure him by impersonating the Queen of England(who is also his grandmother)?
AITA for calling my bestest fwiend ever Gwegowy even though he doesn’t want me to call him that, and also doesn’t remember me? It’s not like I’m deadnaming him, it’s still a masculine name!
AITA for laughing when the two idiot tagalongs on my very important ghost hunting mission got blown up and died infront of me and my partner? I know how it sounds, but trust me, it was very funny! You just had to be there.

what's really funny to me is that the height difference they have in that video is basically how i imagine them / draw them. Ghost being at Toast's shoulder and i did that by accident, when i had decided their heights i hadn't watched that video in awhile. This is also partially where i got the idea to give Ghost platform boots, the other part just because I wanted to (Ghost is at Toast's shoulder without the boots btw).
