Here to write fanfic and have a good time

Adventures in writing with pipuhattar

A quick reminder that I write fanfic as strawberriesandtophats on ao3.

I write mostly hurt/comfort, lgbt+ found family and character analysis stories. Notable fandoms are: Discworld, The Untamed, Our Flag Means Death and Good Omens.

Recent fics:

Hidden reserves, a one-shot set after the first four episodes where Haru goes to catch up with her old work bestie, things don't exactly go as planned.

All those truths (some not so universally acknowledged), a Good Omens fanfic in which Aziraphale and Crowley meet up at a party during the Regency Period and have a great time eavesdropping on a certain famous author.

Picking up the torch, an Aggressive Retsuko fanfic about Haida doing his best to make Retsuko's workload easier.

Older fics:

Seeds in a garden (that you'll never get to see), a post-canon The House in the Cerulean Sea fic where Linus and Arthur go back to the city to sell Linus' house.

A Honored Guest, a Good Omens fanfic, Outside POV from the perspective of the sushi chef in the restaurant concerning his strange and possibly immortal customer.

Park that booty (on the hood of the best car in the galaxy), an introspective fic about gender-fuckery, found family and masks.

The Dresscode doesn’t involve scarlet cloaks or cowboy hats (you wear them anyway), a Night at the Museum AU fic where Jedediah and Octavius are teachers going on a road-trip to an academic conference, hijinks and shenanigans abound.

Please feel free to reblog!

Goths, punks, metalheads, rockers and alternative people have been discriminated for almost 50 years, and hate crimes still happen nowadays.

If you really are part of the community, the scene and the subculture, YOU stand AGAINST prejudices, discrimination and hate crimes.

Last year, I spent so much time looking at other people's art and being genuinely amazed, not at just what they make, but at what they're willing to share. This year, I'm going to try to follow their lead by not just making more art, but by experimenting as well. So here's a study I did, combining the flat arts style of mid century animation and the birds of Arizona

i would love to go to bed when i plan to, but unfortunately the person in charge of me is me and that bitch LOVES screentime and poor decisions

Everybody STOP having a crisis, it’s now tea time

Pause all dread and catastrophe to have a cuppa and some cookies for the next 15-30 minutes

This is a wizard spell

Murderbot diaries is really just a bunch of horror/thriller plots from the perspective of the Deus Ex Machina. Except it has anxiety. And 100% believes they are all going to die. And it has an eldritch horror bff that rides shotgun in it's brain. Wonderful

[Description: a TikTok video showing someone holding up a Macbook laptop with an incredulous look, with a caption reading "Alan Turing after I bring him to 2026". The person inspects the laptop, and as they do so they say "Oh my god. This is—this is incredible. Like, I just—I can't even comprehend what I'm looking at here. Like, I just never thought that like in a million years society would ever, ever be able to create something like this." They pause and look at the laptop screen, and say "And you said they're both hockey players?" /End description]

fucked up how no matter how much literature you read there’s always literature that you haven’t read. and in fact there’s literature that you CANT read because it’s “only published in a language you don’t read” or “it is translated but every translation is straight up bullshit” or “it’s no longer extant” or something stupid like that and so it’s always going to be literature you’ve never read. you can’t read it all. sick n twisted

I feel like something GREAT is going to happen to me. I feel like something WONDERFUL has happened. It hasn't reached me yet but it's on its way.

"I confessed, to the wrong priest" is my favorite line in Wake Up Dead Man, because it's so subtle and yet so kind. Martha has been so dismissive of Jud the whole movie. Not outright mean, of course, but she clearly saw him as a tenant who sometimes gave her a hand rather than a priest, and put him down when he seemed to overstep by acting like one. The line is an admission that not only Jud is a priest, he's a priest who does share the beliefs she's built herself over for decades. Even disillusioned by Wicks's self-serving hypocrisy, he still allows her to see her faith as a moral pillar. It's saying "I should have trusted you, and if I had, maybe none of this would have happened".

It's the "because you are a good nurse" of the movie.
