Jake's therapist

@reyjakestherapist

Here for The Sandman, Jake from Sweetbitter, Rings of Power and everything Tolkien related (currently reading Unfinished Tales). I ship Haladriel and Elrondriel and write fics for both. I also write Dream x OFC and non romantic Sandman fanfiction 🤍💜🖤. My AO3 handle is ReyKryzeJakesTherapist

A fully Númebros fic!

“To us!” Valandil cheered, raising his glass. His two friends raised theirs to his and clinked. Once again they all drank together.

“The sea is always right,” affirmed Valandil after swallowing.

“The sea is always right,” Ontamo followed.

“...for Númenor,” Isildur offered, slightly unsure.

The Númebros met and then became inseparable friends for years. (We'll leave it at that for now, we'll keep it happy.)

Very Happy Holidays to the wonderful @ghost4tets! I'm glad that our Secret Santa exchange got me writing a fully Númebros fics, somehow I hadn't done that yet!

She so wanted to fulfill her vengeance that she made Halbrand whoever she wanted him to be. She was in a state where she would believe things easily if they aligned with what she wanted. [...] There was barely anything saying that he was the king of the Southlands. He always said he wasn't. But it suited her because she needed to go to Middle-earth and she needed the Númenoreans.

Sandman ends in 1996, but Morpheus's story never ends.

This is a comic based on The story“The taste of Honey” by Edonohana. It's one of my favorite Sandman fan fictions. I really wanted it to be visual, so I asked This genius to license it and drew this comic. After you've done that, please give the most talented Edonohana some credit and comments! Enjoy it! ‍

I am not a native English speaker, any mistake, please forgive me

OMG I'm speechless, this could be an actual Sandman panel!! 🤩

Maybe this explains where I've been since I last posted online: I just finished dreaming of Mordor as a comfy abode despite all appearances. And yes, there is no pool of lava. It's just a hot spring down there.

Mount Doom is Sauron's secret sauna.

Heh.

The Last Skerry

There are rules, even in the Dreaming. I knew the moment I begun to rebuild the island from the small things people remember the moment their heads hit their pillows. Of course, that’s also the exact moment they forget.

But now, he stood at the waterline, all angles and shadows, and he did not look at me.

“I am responsible for this place,” he said, and I could feel that for him, responsibility and mercy were not necessarily the same thing.

So I expected anger. Punishment. Some sort of consequence.

Instead, there was a door.

It seemed to balance on water, reflecting stars I had never seen before. Old wood and a tarnished silver handle.

Dream was very, very still. Then he asked:

“Who created this portal? It should not be here…”

Any ideas? 😉 Would love to hear them if you do. Or would you even like to keep writing? A bit of round robin can be fun...

[I read #36 again and felt in the mood for a bit of flash fiction….]

the thing with romance for me is that you need to convince me through behavior and dialogue that the characters enjoy spending time with each other and seek each other out. even with enemies to lovers a foundation of mutual respect goes a long way. you can be like "he's the youngest ever general of the dragon slaying guild and I'm secretly a dragon, but he's the best swordsman I've ever fought and our sparring matches are the only thing that make me feel alive ever since my family was killed." if he implies something similar then bam, you have a reason for the two of them to hang out even though one of them knows it's dangerous. you can't be like "he's a dragon slayer and he's mean to me all the time but the flex of his arms when he swings his sword is just too sexy." it does not matter how many times you have your protagonist say "I shouldn't be drawn to him... but I am" if you never show a real moment of connection between them that draws them together

People who hate Frodo Baggins are my enemy. "He didn't do anything and was useless"--yeah, okay, so what you're not understanding is that he was the sacrificial lamb. He endured physical, mental, and emotional torment that got worse and worse as his will broke. Everyone knew this. EVERYONE KNEW THIS. That's why everyone was devastated about it. Because Frodo was the most innocent among them, that was the entire point. He represented ordinary peaceful people being destroyed by the horrors of war. And as a hobbit he also represented some of the last vestiges of magic in what was basically a post magic apocalypse.

Frodo was basically an innocent puppy thrown into the Torment Nexus so that EVERYONE ELSE could maybe have a hope of surviving. And he did that willingly. HE DID IT OF HIS OWN FREE WILL, KNOWING IT WOULD RUIN HIM.

Frodo haters won't see the light of heaven

Also wtf do people mean he didn't do anything? He knew they shouldn't attract attention, he is the one who solved the riddle of the door to Moria, he literally Intuits so many things that someone who has never lived an adventure wouldn't.

Did we even watch the same films with these people
