Headcanon: Astrid constantly debates the teachers about Catholicism because she sees so many contradictions with it, so basically the theology teachers don't really like her. She also got in trouble for asking if/arguing that transubstantiation (basically where the cracker and wine are seen as the real body and blood of Christ) could be considered cannibalism.

Headcanon for the current state of the musical: Astrid has a fear of rollercoasters which is why she didn't go on the Cyclone. She had to watch her cousin Ocean and the rest of the choir die and the last person she talked to in the choir was Penny oops I made it angsty.

I was drawn to Astrid originally because I was told she was Ukrainian and I have Ukrainian ancestry. I'm also autistic with ADHD and I'm a bit hyperfixated on RTC still and I'm also hyperfixated on Ukrainian culture. So when I found out that Astrid was actually Norwegian in the show, my autism was like Ocean after Karnak tells her that not every story has a lesson; basically it couldn't handle the change. Plus I'd already come up with a ton of Astrid lore and some of it revolved around the idea of her being Ukrainian, so like wtf was I supposed to do? So to compromise, my personal headcanon is that Astrid is half-Norwegian and half-Ukrainian. If people don't agree, fine, but I just ask that it be respected. I really don't think it's too much to ask for it to at least be respected.
