I think people are kinda skimming over the fact that Greenland is colonized by the Danish, because many people seem to think that colonization can only happen when the Yanks do it.

Greenland Kalaallit Nunaat is Inuit land!!!

WAIT IS THIS AN INNUENDO

This is about the influential new wave band Talking Heads, active 1975-1991 and consisting of members David Byrne on lead vocals and guitar, Tina Weymouth on bass, Jerry Harrison on keys and guitar, and Chris Frantz on drums. However, these members also played various instruments across their studio recordings and live performances, where they also frequently collaborated with other artists for additional vocals and instrumentation. This is showcased in the concert film Stop Making Sense which sees the band joined by Steve Scales on percussion, Bernie Worrell on keys, Alex Weir on guitar, and Ednah Holt and Lynn Mabry on vocals. But actually, the imagery in this post is related to their album True Stories, which is itself associated with David Byrne's feature film of the same name. In the film, the songs are performed by a combination of Talking Heads themselves and the actors in the film's narrative, whereas on the album all of the songs are performed by Talking Heads with vocals by Byrne. Byrne was the primary songwriter for the band and has frequently discussed the impact of musical styles from around the world on his music, such as the afrobeat sound of Talking Heads' fourth studio album Remain in Light and the latin influence on David Byrne's solo album and tour Rei Momo. This is also discussed extensively in Byrne's nonfiction book How Music Works. As Byrne pursued his disparate musical interests, relations in the band grew strained, and they broke up on bad terms after Byrne impulsively announced their disbandment during a TV interview. Disappointing as this was, there is now broad agreement among fans that their later work saw a decline in quality, and all four members have gone on to fulfilling lives and musical careers.

I THINK I KNOW TALKING HEADS I LOVE THEM (im so new it’s not funny 😭) BUT I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS FUNNY THEN AN INNUENDO

Can I use this as a playlist image on Spotify

You can do anything if you believe

I was on here two days ago feeling very detached from reality talking about "everywhere is the same as everywhere else" seemingly completely forgetting that like political climates are a thing

To be honest I devalue the profession of librarianship by being a part of it even though I am not working as a librarian currently. This is my current perception of reality

I guess I'd like to live in the yukon but I don't remember why that's the case right now. Wow I just remembered I have job alert set up for library jobs in the yukon. I wonder if that got deactivated at some point or there just haven't been any library jobs in the yukon for eight months or something

Probably everywhere on earth is equally as good as everywhere else

To be honest I like to listen to talking heads "cities" and ponder very depely because for me I don't know how one would "find myself a city to live in" if I didn't already have a job there. If I had a job there I would move to the city. Actually I guess this isn't true because I don't live in the municipality I work in. But I already lived here before I got the job so it's different

also listened to the you're wrong about christmas episode where people talk about the places they live and felt very detached from this expressed sentiment "I knew the first time I visited that I wanted to move there someday" like come on now it's a location with humans and buildings in it

Probably everywhere on earth is equally as good as everywhere else
