Greetings!

@the-patience-bean

💙icon by the amazing haybaeden! thanks!💙 Welcome to my blog! You can call me Beanie! Pronouns: they/them | Zodiac sign: Gemini |Fandoms I'm in: too many to count | How much I care about my friends: 100000% | Also, for those curious, I am an adult. I just don't like having my age to be public info.

you know what scares me? what will you do once george floyd's name fades out of the news cycle? will you go back to your "normal" life or whatever normalcy you've created during this pandemic and forget? will you stop listening, learning, speaking up? will you forget about this and disappear only to come back again until another black person succumbs to state sponsored violence? you probably will. so please don't stop learning. please don't stop listening to and amplifying the voices of black people. please don't stop speaking up. dig deep and find the courage to keep this up. insist that you and everyone you know fight for a future where black people can live without fearing for their lives. a future where white supremacy is fundamentally annihilated.

Me, reblogging from anyone I don't follow: I'm introducing diversity into the gene pool. This will make my mutuals' dashes stronger and healthier.

Me reblogging old posts: I am reintroducing historical species into the gene pool to hybridize with the dashboard equivalent of pugs, making them stronger and healthier.

Me reblogging legacy posts: there are New Users, young Mutuals who were not here for the Old Times and do not remember the Old Ways. Someone must teach them, lest they be Lost.

Me reblogging 20 posts a day from a new hyper-fixation completely out of left field: I must strengthen the bodies and minds of my followers. Only the most determined will remain, and once we’re through, their resilience will know no bounds

cold as fuck out is anyone else experiencing this? [remembers i should be inclusive to my southern hemisphere followers currently experiencing spring-summer weather] hot as fuck out is anyone else experiencing this?

it’s fucking TEMPERATURE out there. TEMPERATURE with a side of WEATHER.

when I was like 14 I used to reblog these posts on here that were like "YOUR 20S ARE NOT AN IMAGINARY RACE YOURE DOING JUST FINE!!" just to be positive towards my older mutuals even though i didn't really get what they were about and I'd be in the tags like "#so true!! #everyone does things at their own pace!!" and now im 24 I'm thinking back to it and it's like Oh of course the imaginary race. Which im losing

reblog if your name isn't Amanda.

2,121,566 people are not Amanda and counting!

We’ll find you Amanda.

world heritage post

I HAVE to reblog this eleven million note post. That’s the most notes I’ve ever seen on tumblr. Also my name is Jade, not Amanda.

*sandwich voice* the world is vast and beautiful and i have a sandwich

*wiggles fingers* balicazam!! Your sandwich is now yarn

idk what you did and normally i wouldn't complain but my sandwich has straight up vanished as if by dark magic

im not even joking my sandwich is gone and i am fucking pissed

motherFUCKER i bet i lost it on the railway tracks

ok im on a train right now. so what happened is I was rushing with my precariously-stacked luggage with my sandwich on the top. and unfortunately it was a vertical sandwich (baguette) and i didn't tie the plastic baggie shut. fucker slid right out of its wrapper

somewhere in this train station is a single perfect naked sandwich lying peaceably on the ground

MOTHERFUCKER I WAS RIGHT i lost it wheeling my luggage (jostling) across the tracks. i can see it from the fucking window. it's just sitting there, taunting me

the train leaves in 5 min, I'm already in my seat, and as stated the sandwich is lying buttnaked on the train tracks.

i still kinda wanna run and get it tho

hey op are you still alive

sorry i was busy staring out a train window. yeah got my sammich

yes i risked missing my train for a dirt sandwich, and paused to take a tumblr photo of said sammy. my decision-making skills are extensive and highly-developed.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a sandwich to eat.

Not to be that person, but if you remember this, how's that newfound back pain going for ya babe

i know a lot of you are hardcore "obesity is going to kill you" truthers, and im not gonna convince u otherwise, but i hope u know that medical neglect bc doctors refuse to consider anything other than our weight is a real contributor to our poor outcomes

Look, it’s a weird hill to die on, especially when I don’t really explain, but children deserve to experience fear, disgust, and discomfort in safe scenarios where they can process those sensations.

Media for children used to be scary and that’s important.

This sounds ridiculous, but even though everyone makes jokes about Artax dying in the Swamps of Sadness, or Littlefoot's mom promising she'll always be with him even if he can't see her traumatizing a generation...the lessons that came with those moments landed harder BECAUSE the situations that spawned them were so awful. Media aimed at children used to have actual stakes (I know some of it still does don't @ me, but examples of stakes that have actual TEETH are no longer the default) that couldn't necessarily be overcome with the power of friendship and helping the bad guy realize he/she really just wants friends. And obviously it's not the ONLY reason that kids today are losing grit and resilience (and no, I'm not saying children need "tough love" or to just "walk it off" but I as an elementary teacher will die on the hill that kids need to be able to understand sometimes bad things happen for no good reason and you HAVE to have the emotional skills to accept that and find a path forward anyway), but it's A reason and one that people could definitely address.
