The whole thing’s actually pissing me off. Making fun of the people in power has been a comedy staple for longer than I’ve been alive. Often, making fun of the decisions that are ruining our lives is all we can do. Now it’s not enough that the country’s being ground into the dirt under Tory heels, now we’re not even allowed to mock them?

Okay, you know what. Now I’m really pissed. This is a prime example of why clickbait headlines suck, and I’m not talking about ‘headline does not give deeper specifics beause that’s what the article is for’ sense. Googled this after Sarky’s rebagel, which you know what? is very much on me for not doing before, because it is bloody ‘check your sources’ o’clock All The Time. This is not the hilarious, ‘sorry bitches, what passes for humor isn’t welcome here’ it’s  ‘Showrunners are trying to clap back at the station in attempt to continue to be allowed to roast these motherfuckers on air.’ Headline should’ve been something along the lines of ‘New BBC director general threatens left-leaning comedy shows - claims they are ‘unfairly biased’ despite failed attempts to find Conservative comics’ - (and keep the little original headline burn in the fucking article. Mine has the same number of words, and could probably be better, but it’s still closer than the shit that’s on the original) Relevant quote from article: “On Monday the Daily Telegraph claimed that the new BBC director general, Tim Davie, was preparing to axe left-leaning comedy shows, such as Radio 4’s The Now Show and Have I Got News For You because they are “unfairly biased against the Tories, Donald Trump and Brexit”, as part of a push to make the corporation’s output appeal to a broader audience.”

So, for American audiences who didn’t have the context, and people like me who failed to google, (both.gif in my case). A sick burn does not equal solving the problem, and in this case is covering up some nasty fucking shit.
