fledgling duo, mean gills, and shinyduo my beloveds she/any ⚢

Majorscythe this, Aviscott that, CUT out the middle man. I've been manifesting Fireshot since they interacted in VSMP Episode 5 and even though I may have been dead wrong about their canon dynamic, I can still promote their hypothetical duo all I want.

because to be honest, all it would have taken was one serious conversation between the two of them to completely change their fates. Pyro and Avid have a lot in common, after all - they both have pasts filled with pain and homes that they can never return to. Scott even says “you may want to be careful, because you're following a very similar path to Pyro right now, getting too excited too quickly” to Avid after he’s turned. and though they’re often at odds, they do have a few key moments of understanding - the one that sticks out the most is Avid saying “look what you did to him” to Scott about Pyro (shortly after Pyro attacks a group of townspeople who were trying to approach him about the cure, telling them to 'just give in').

walk with me here. Pyro and Avid, the first turned and the vampire hunter, are always going head to head as they compete for a certain elder vampire's attention and approval. but slowly, they discover more about each other - Pyro learns about Avid's traumatic experiences and debilitating injury, and Avid realizes just how complex and toxic the vampire hierarchy is. and the more they open up to each other, the closer they become. after a while, they realize they might actually be able to work as a team... and that Scott Goldsmith himself, Pyro's sire and Avid's antagonizer, is the problem here, not each other.
