This isn’t a call out to anyone I just feel the need to say this out loud and acknowledge the fact that the sports that seem to be most popular for RPF are the whitest sports imaginable like hockey and formula 1 and shit which is just like interesting because (at least here in America) football is insanely popular AND a full contact sport AND all the men wear tight outfits like if you sit down and watch football it just looks really gay. But I’ve never seen anyone RPFing football. Hmmmmm I wonder why.
while the people who insist that spock was straight in tos so it’s totally fine for him to be straight in snw and anyone who says otherwise is just too lost in the spirk sauce aren’t wrong in terms of the raw facts of canon they gloss over the fact that spock being gay is so deeply embedded in the cultural consciousness that it might as well be the truth and as cultural norms have evolved since the sixties it becomes harder and harder for those making new officially licensed trek media to ignore. spock being not just straight but also sleeping with every woman who crosses his path with wild abandon is then a very deliberate choice that says something about the values held by that particular production
