@yallmstdve

zomg hiii :3 check out this really cool game called friendship test [link] :) please

hhhhhhhhhh ok. proper intro. ish. name is juno or absol, it/its, i use first person neopronouns sometimes (vi/voi/void/vine/voidself instead of i/me/my/mine/myself). vi have a pronoun page (link) but nothing on it is that important imo

blog title is pretty accurate, vi don't make many original posts and if i do it's ambient chatter of little substance.

i reblog a fair amount of wildlife photography, which very notably includes bugs. vi like bugs. they're kinda inherent to the blog, so vi won't be tagging them soz

dms will go nowhere fast but i'm always happy about getting asks, so if you wanna talk please send an ask instead of a dm

dnis are a pointless endeavor but i'll follow yours if you have one

and here's another friendship test plug, in case you didn't see the one in void bio :)

Glistening-green Tanager (Chlorochrysa phoenicotis), family Thraupidae, order Passeriformes, Ecuador

photograph by Sam Woods

i hate people who know highways. “i’m heading south on I-65” okay man. i’m moving my rook to c2

Do you hate them or do they frustrate you? Cause hate is a strong word to use

i hate them also i’m done with my worksheet now. is the first session free

Apparently ICE now has agents posing as utility workers to get into people's homes. The electric and gas companies have posted information on how to tell if it's one of their workers, and numbers to call to confirm whether they've sent someone to do utility work on your house.

Stay safe, friends.

The White House just launched a “Media Offenders” list.

On the official WhiteHouse.gov website.

Not a campaign page.

Not an RNC graphic.

The government’s actual website.

They’re listing reporters by name.

They’re accusing news outlets of “offenses.”

They’re stamping “EXPOSED” over every independent newsroom.

They built a leaderboard for “repeat offenders.”

Like journalism is some sort of crime and sport.

This is not “messaging.”

This is not “spin.”

This is state-run media targeting,

and we have never seen anything like it in the United States.

Ever.

They’re calling Mark Kelly’s PSA “follow the law” sedition.

They’re calling journalists who report it criminals.

They’re building narrative infrastructure for repressing dissent

All while a former TV host is being accused of unlawful killings.

You don’t put reporters on a government enemies list unless you’re planning to do something with the list.

This is authoritarian architecture.

And they just published it out in the open.

@daysleftofsecondterm i think this would be good to have on your blog. you likely have more reach than i do, and this important stuff to know.

Hoo boy. Okay we can survive this. We can and will survive this.

Important additions from replies

Thanks… Fading? Queen? Milkshake? I need to give you a nickname.

Whatever, thank you

Sometimes I remember that time the girl I sat with on the bus wanted to play with me at recess, and I didn't want that, but she wouldn't take no for an answer so I ended up having to literally run away from her all across the playground. And then somehow I got in trouble for that? I was the one who got given indoor recess and made to stay inside the next day?

Apparently consent isn't important when you're a six year old who wants to be left alone. If someone decides they're your friend, you can't actually say no. If someone refuses to take no for an answer to the point that you have to physically remove yourself from the situation? It doesn't matter. You're a bad person for not wanting to play with someone during recess. She just wants someone to play with, after all.

Hot take, but maybe the solution to bullying and kids being ostracized isn't to force kids to be friends with everyone, either. Maybe children's consent matters.

Like. I know aplatonicism isn't widely known and platonormativity is huge and pervasive, but sometimes it really hits me that I have in fact been aplatonic all my life and that's never been treated as a possibility or a thing.
