((Background for his lore: In my headcanon, the tale that Moth and Evie talk about in the "Unveiled" story is true. Some dragons can turn into veilspuns due to the power of the Shadow Deity. Nameless, who once was a nocturne, fell under the spell of this power and turned into veilspun, but lost all of his memory.))

When Nameless opened his eyes, he found himself in the middle of some abandoned ruins. He didn't remember anything - not his name, not who he was before, not where he came from. His head was buzzing and spinning, his body was weak, his wings didn't obey him, and his consciousness was strangely... empty. He didn't know where to go, but he clearly understood that he needed to find a safe place where he could rest, come to his senses and calmly think about what to do next. On trembling legs he walked away from the ruins, hiding in the shadows of stones and destroyed parts of buildings along his way.

As he left the ruins, he encountered a flock of Tengu who immediately attacked him. Nameless understood that he couldn't fight them off, nor fly away and escape them. He only managed to instinctively cast shadow magic into the eyes of the attackers and use their confusion and blindness to slip into a crack in the nearby stonework which seemed good for him to hide. His actions only seemed to anger the Tengu and they tried to get to Nameless, but the crack was indeed deep enough that they couldn't reach him. Veilspun was lucky then and was saved by Assertor, who was tracking this flock of Tengu since they were afflicted with the Shade. Gaoler took the veilspun under his wing and took care of him until he came to his senses.

Nameless didn't know where to go, so he decided to temporarily join gaoler in his travels until he figures out what to do. Assertor didn't mind anyway - during this time they had become some kind of a friends. However, this temporary joining became permanent, except that Nameless decided to search for some clues about his past or about what happened to him, in parallel with his travels. Still sometimes he stays alone in the Shadow Territory when he wants to take a break from traveling and just relax for a while.

Nameless seems to be calm and indifferent, it even can be said that he is kinda emotionless, at least outwardly. Usually it's difficult to understand what he is feeling and thinking of behind his appearance, and to those around him he may seem cold and indifferent, the one who just "goes with the flow" and doesn't care about anything at all. But he is not actually emotionless and indiffirent - emotions and feelings are just complex things for him; he is experiencing them but sometimes he can't even figure them out, not to mention showing them. All of this bothered him once, but he found its advantages over time - detachment from emotions allows him to look at many things more practically and perceive reality more clearly, it helps him to keep a cool head in a critical and dangerous situations.

Despite problems with his own feelings, he has advanced empathy and easily understands others feelings and emotions. He is still capable of showing really strong emotions, but this happens extremely rarely - either something out of the ordinary must happen, or something must touch him to the depths of his lost soul for the emotion to become clear and strong even to himself.

* Nameless has some lack of attachment to the concept of gender; he feels like he might be male-aligned but he also doesn't feel like this is important or matter anything to him, so he doesn't really care what pronouns or labels others use for him but mainly refers to himself with "he/him".
His "name" is actually an entrenched nickname. Nobody including himself knows his real name.
Thanks to the Shadow magic, he not only hypnotizes dragons as is typical veilpuns can do, but is also able to make them see illusions (to intimidate an enemy into retreating or miss their target, for example).
He really likes to swim, so he can spend hours basking in the water.
