x -» Story x Trickster once was a ridgeback hatchling that was born in Tangled Wood. His rebellious, light-minded nature and a certain amount of curiosity constantly pushed him to run away from his clan to explore the surrounding territories, that led him near the Wyrmwound one day. Accidentally he fell right next to the cauldron, and direct contact with its contagion turned him into Aberration after a short time. This mutation duplicated his mind, creating two new, independent, but still pretty similar minds. Mutation felt like a severe and nasty illness, and these changes scared them for the first time, but they didn't get a chance to think too hard about it - it wasn't a main problem for them that time anyway. Their situation was unenviable - they couldn't return home because it's not known how other dragons would react to... their new appearance, Scarred Wasteland wasn't known well to them to survive here for their own at that moment, and they were too weak and disoriented after the mutation. They also needed to learn how to harmoniously manage their body - their movements were too clumsy and messy to defend themselves from any danger or at least run away from it. Likely for them, soon after their mutation other Aberrations found them and accepted them into their community. As Trickster grew older, they reconciled and even started to like their new state - it was even more fun and interesting like that. The difference in the personality of each mind became more noticeable, but this had little effect on their relationships. Life in Wasteland demanded to constantly fight for survival and be stronger than others, which eventually led both minds of Trickster to reach a high level of synergy between them, so they no longer needed to think much about the overall control of their body. In order to make it easier for them to speak to each other and other dragons don't get confused about which mind they want talk to, they chose new name for each of the minds - Curtis (with two eyes) and Rufus (with three), and "Trickster" became their collective name. They still hoped to return to their homeland one day, and when Aberrations were relieved to the world and there was no longer any need to hide from other dragon kins, they gladely returned to Tangled Wood. x x -» Personality x Raising by ancient Plague dragons along with the soul of Shadow dragon made their personality and behaviour more tough, even kinda "predatory". Their movements are smooth, slinking and at the same time majestic and confident, they almost never take their eyes (at least pair of them) off the interlocutor while having a conversation with them. There is a touch of pathos in their speeches, but they are still mesmerizing, with the use of complex sentences full of various figures of speech and passing tones - everything is aimed to fool others with smooth talk or let their guard down. Any of their laughter sounds sardonic, even the most sincere one. Trickster just adore to play some really tough tricks on someone like scare the hell out of the dark or sneak up from behind and start murmuring in unison, staying out of sight of the victim, then chase them while they are fleeing in fear or even lure them into dangerous terrain. But not deadly dangerous, of course - Trickster never aim to kill someone, only to scare them well. One of their favorite pastimes is to team up with one of their friends, Nameless, and put on a real horror show for dragons that lost in the Tangled Wood. But all of this of course can lead to significant showdowns, so they do it really rarely, at least for their own safety. The rest of the time Trickster are quite calm and do no harm, content with just a few little tricks, even though their manner of behaving may seem threatening and can frighten because of it already. Trickster prefer to resolve conflicts with words, using various manipulations of course, but otherwise they will not be afraid to take the fight even with someone who is obviously larger and stronger than them - they can always take the enemy with dexterity and cunning. The fight anyway wouldn't be fair after all, because it was two against one from the beginning. x x -» Relations x -» Trivia x
