Ansgar was one of the first dragons to join leagues with the original leaders of the clan, Ethelda and Casimir. He was a but a hatchling then, but together with Ethelda and Casimir he has earned an extensive knowledge of the Light domain as well as what lies outside of the clan's borders.

Due to the clan naturally respecting the elders for their input on any matter, he has become a valued member of the clan. His children have all earned lofty positions within the heirarchy, however it is not uncommon to hear a bit of gossip consisting of how Ansgar only appreciates kin of his that meet his requirement of "beauty."

While he does choose his favorites specifically, he does not disown those who do not meet his expectations. He still loves his children and their children; Ansgar knows that in order to maintain his pride he must have strong ties within the clan. Despite forces wanting to wreak havoc on their home, Ansgar is known to be the peacemaker who returns tranquility.
