The Museum of Val Astevia is a grand building that holds thousands of artifacts and might seem like an endless maze to a visitor. The curator of these items glides around the space with confidence, purple silks clinging to her body glimmering under the overhead lights and she seems almost as magical as the remnants of old times around her. Zearae could easily be one of the wonders of the museum with her long, silver hair and when she talks about the things she looks after one might think that she’s an ancient being since her knowledge about the items is so vast. She truly loves her job even though she doesn’t really see the artifacts.
Zearae was born blind: a fact you wouldn’t ever guess. Her ability to peer into the past has granted her the ability to see where old artifacts have been buried and sometimes her visions catch more than just the resting places of the things the museum might be interested in. She sees people and the stories behind the artifacts and sometimes more: old, forgotten beings that have made her a loyal student of old religions and deities. Zearae is chasing ghosts and trying to make a connection with gods that the present has forgotten about. |

STORY
After leaving home (a fact her parents protested: wouldn’t the unknown world around them be too dangerous to a blind dragon?) Zearae wandered around from city to city. She found a band of archeologists that made her interested in the old times and at this time her seeing abilities really peaked and she helped the excavation team to find many relics by seeing in her mind the places they had been left behind in the dark under the soil. Her new friends were very impressed by this fact and asked Zearae to join them on their journey back to their homeland: the kingdom of Astevia.
At the capital city, Val Astevia, Zearae was introduced by the archeologists to the leader of the museum and she was offered a job there. Since then she has worked at the museum and has looked after the many artifacts. Zearae helps out excavation teams with her visions: gives advice where to dig and also has helped others at the museum to know more about the items already found by getting visions of the items past. She is a valuable part of the workforce at the museum and has become very well respected by her peers because of her vast knowledge and unusual skill of just knowing things others wouldn’t have any clue of. Her visions aren’t all about buried riches but she has also seen people in her visions. Dragons huddled around fires in dark caves and cities bathing under a dim moonlight in the dead of night. And of course the visions she finds the most interesting: ancient deities waiting for their followers in the darkness. Old gods the present has forgotten about. And sometimes she thinks they see her too. Just a turn of head in a vision, a piercing gaze that seems to look right into her own eyes and sometimes the beings speak. How haunting it is to hear your own name muttered by someone who should be living only in a vision of the past. How haunting and exciting! What is even more exciting is that one of the beings she saw while peering into the past has now arrived to the present and acts almost like a guide to her. Maybe the skydancer with glowing marks on his face has always lived at the same point as her but she only caught her first glimpse of him during a vision, but he feels magical anyway. Falondin says that he too is an avid researcher of old religions and shares the same passions as Zearae but sometimes she thinks he might be one of the ancient deities she sees in her visions. A forgotten god playing the role of a mere mortal and Zearae might be their first follower in centuries. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ |

"Dragons born with uncommon shadow eyes have the ability to peer into the past, albeit not willingly. Their visions are limited to things that are in darkness. They get their visions randomly, and cannot control them. Training can help them learn how to control their visions."
