The Cearula Arbor

The Eurydice crew was losing their sense of time.

The darkness seemed to stretch on forever, the silver vessel the only beacon of light as she broke her way through the haze. The two captains sat on the deck, gazing at the sea with two mugs of beer. Llmabros raised one wing, sheltering the mirror from the growing sea wind that was howling into their faces.

“It should be dinner time now,” Kyrenia mumbled, sloshing her mug around with no intention of drinking it. “But honestly, it feels like it’s been night all along.”

Llambros said nothing, staring down into his cup with exhaustion. The excitement of the adventure was starting to wear off, and while being a captain sounded as cool as it could be, the workload that came with it was tiring. The golden liquid in the cup swayed with movements of the ship, its surface reflecting the nothingness of the skies above.

“…You should probably eat something sti — ”

He stopped abruptly, nearly throwing the mug out on impulse. The reflections on the beer had suddenly lit up, a distorted dot of cold blue staring at him on the surface of the rippling drink. The surroundings brightened suddenly as well, as he could now see his claws better. It all changed so fast, as if the Eurydice had stepped into a new realm of this ocean.

Half frozen, he slowly looked up.

A perfect round circle hung high up there, lulling alone in the night sky, radiating a soft pale blue aura that seemed to dispel the fog from its surroundings.

Viatieth — The blue moon.

Llmabros felt every scale on his body rise and prickle, as the full moon bathes him in its supposedly serene moonlight. To Minders, the sight of the blue moon on its own had always been a warning that the Starfall Isles were in grave danger. And though at the back of his mind he knew that this was natural here in the seas and that Sornieth was now peaceful, he couldn’t shake the uneasiness that was rising from his very own nature.

He heard Kyrenia a deep breath beside him, claws hovering over her weapon as she fought the urge to unsheath it immediately. She opened and closed her jaw a few times, tongue darting anxiously as she whispered a sudden realisation.

The crystals that only grew under the light of the blue moon. And if they followed where this light was shining, at its brightest spot, perhaps…!

They needed to change course and track the moonlight. Perhaps angle their radars to that direction accordingly. It could possibly help them locate the area where the moon was able to focus on. Is The Moon…Watching?

The blue moon points towards the right path — only under its light would moon crystals grow. Reveal the location of the nearest moon crystal.

Also in case anyone is wondering — I had a preset map where I filled in locations of Surprise Sqaure/Hostiles/crystals before the entire event started! And so I’m just referring to it as we go

There is a list of surprise Sqaure effects/events, and every time the square is hit, I just rng for one of them.

So yes…it all depends on your luck.

Viatieth is what arcane named the blue moon in one of the pushes

@Tanglefire I'd like to move forward to G7, charge standard cannons to 3/4 points, and charge eternity cannons to 9/10. I believe this is a total of 9 points, correct?

“Land, Captain Kyrenia! There’s a large land-like object ahead of us!”

There was indeed a large object protruding out from the waters in front of them. Though the closer they sailed, the less Kyrenia was sure about it being land. It was too small, less like an island and more like a stray stone.

The Eurydice stopped a small distance away from it, and the mirror finally saw what it actually was:

It was a wrecked ship. Only its metal frame remained, barely forming the shape of a vessel as it had rusted beyond recognition. The keel sat hollow and gaping with damages along both sides, its parts floating around it in deformed ruins.

The Eurydice lowered slightly. Kyrenia jumped off, landing next to it for a closer look. Upon inspection the vessel appeared to be similar to the Eurydice — not exactly the same model, but a popular design of that time regardless. The tiny bit of silver still visible amongst the rust silently confirmed her guess.

And she stood there, claws stuck in place, a sinking feeling slowly dripping into her chest. She couldn’t tell how long this ship had been here for — but given how the metal was nearly nothing but brittle brown, it had likely been here since the fall of the families.

She tried to search for the name of the vessel somewhere, but no sign of that was left. Perhaps once upon a time she also sailed with a promise of new adventure and discovery. Aegaeons once boarded her with a load full of dreams, the passion to conquer the unknown tides in here. But all of these ended here, forgotten, another nameless voyage with no print left on the histories.

Sadness filled her at this thought, but another part of her knew that this was how it was meant to be.

The Aegaeons are pioneers. They always have been.

Someone has to take that step.

She closed her eyes, trying to connect with what was left in this wreckage, but there was no answer. Not even the wind, which had gone strangely quiet, as if it had also dropped to solemnity. May they all find their ways to the stars.
May they all sail the stars, forever.

@Tanglefire I'd like to spend 8 points going right (to correct the random 'left'), then right, then left, and if my logic's right that Should take us to the crystal! With the other 4 points I'd like to go left then right, um, if I can queue this much movement at once.

Wait adfhkl I’m so sorry, o forgot to reset the moves after the last post, there should be nothing in the moves right now

So sorry about that, but feel free to queue up many moves! The ship will stop breifly for a post every time it comes upon something, but otherwise it’ll keep going on according to your moves!
