Hey there! I hope the good boy is doing well? It's been a while since we've seen his adorable face.

😂😂😂😂
B’s mom, the first time meeting Deacon almost a year ago: no, no, I don’t want to pet you. I don’t like dogs, especially big dogs, sorry.
B’s mom this weekend, calling Deacon over to her: Oh no! Sad boy! Is no one paying attention to you? Here, I’ll pet you.
B’s mom this weekend, petting Deacon with one hand while using the other to cook: Deacon, you look hungry. Should you taste the fish? I think so. You’re a very good boy.
B’s mom this weekend, heading to the guest room: Deacon! Let’s go! You can help me get ready!
🥺
An update on The Good Boy. He somehow managed to cut both of his feet (above his pads?? We still have no idea how) while playing fetch on Tuesday. The vet says he’ll be fine and sent us home with him wrapped up like he was going to Jazzercise. But he won’t leave his feet alone, so now he gets to wear the Licking Deterrent Socks (also known more colloquially as My Socks). He’s not a huge fan, but cooperating thus far.
At some point, every day, I intentionally “vex” my dog (meaning I moderately annoy him). Usually, this involves his feet/ears/tail/mouth (the typical places dogs don’t like being touched). Originally I did this so that he’d be super desensitized to nail trims, ear/teeth cleanings, and my cousin’s kids since they were still learning dog etiquette when I got Deacon. Now, it’s just a habit. This is an example of foot-related vexing. As you can see, he is very used to this sort of thing.

He’s great! His face is currently under B’s bed (I don’t know why he likes sleeping like this, but it’s his favorite 😂). Sorry I’ve been neglecting the Good Boy Content!
The post-bath zoomies are real. 😂
