In the past I have used a serial version inside VMware... actually it was my custom build of the alix version, all I had to do to make it work was add a network driver that VMware would work with. I actually think it useful to be able to run the exact image you plan to use on an appliance/system inside a VMware image for testing purposes, but that can be a build-time choice, so doesn't need to be enabled by default in all images. Lonnie, I can't think of a reason to have it enabled by default in anything other than the gen-i586 image. It's always possible to specify the e1000 adapter in vmware and use that one too. In 1.0.x we included the former seperate Runnix source into the Astlinux repo (inside 'project/'). If you want to use Astlinux 0.7.x, you need to modify the 0.3.x runnix source. Juliano, As Michael suggested, the 'kexec' occurs in the RUNNIX bootloader. Besides, downgrading to an older 2.6.18 could cause a lot of other problems. Hi Michael I looked in this repo now, but i can only find the file in http://runnix.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/runnix/tags/0.3.3/target/generic/ta rget_skeleton/ but, in the astilinux-0.7.10 repo, I can't find anything about getting the runnix from that repo. The only thing I found was a file that the astlinux get: http://mirror.astlinux.org/runnix/runnix-0.3.3.tar.gz I saw in astlinux-1.0.1 repo a new folder, project, that contain the script runnix. I would like to continue use the astlinux-0.7.10, because I already made a few modifications. Hi... I´m trying build the astlinux 0.7.10 with another kernel(2.6.18), but there is a problem on boot. When booting the system, the script runnix execute the command: kexec command-line=$KCMD initrd=/mnt/tmp/initrd.img f /mnt/tmp/bzImage I need edit this line to kexec --command-line=$KCMD --args-linux --initrd=/mnt/tmp/initrd.img --f /mnt/tmp/bzImage but I can´t find where I can edit this. I searched in all files downloads and .mk but without success. Someone can help me find where I can edit this file during the build? Best regards, Juliano Romani |

The AstLinux Team would like to announce the release of 1.0.1. This version is available with either Asterisk 1.4.43 or Asterisk 1.8.8.3. A full changelog and upgrade (or new install) instructions are available on our website. Please follow the upgrade instructions carefully when upgrading from a release prior to 1.0. http://www.astlinux.org Please note that this release includes a change in the way PATA (ide) devices are handled by the kernel. Those devices are now handled by libata which references the drives as /dev/sdx instead of /dev/hdx. As always, please report any issues (and comments) to the AstLinux mailing list on Sourceforge. (link available at the above website). The AstLinux Team |

The 1.0.1 images are being uploaded as I write this. The website will be updated later today, but don't be surprised when you see 1.0.1 when you do an upgrade-run-image. Also note that you should also upgrade runnix at the same time. There were a few changes in the way ide drives are handled. All drives are now recognized as /dev/sdx . More details will be posted with the official release email. Darrick |
