Some early Stuart men enjoying each other’s company.
They’re not named yet, but they’re part of the town waites thing I’ve been tossing around in my head where the action cuts between the aforementioned town waites (which were basically the town band, whose job involved waking people up in the morning and playing at all celebratory functions) and a pair of noble couples who aren’t what they seem.
Basically, there are two pairs of noble siblings who live nearby the village. We’ll call them Lord X and Lady X and Lord Y and Lady Y. Lord X and Lady Y are married, as are Lord Y and Lady X. But this is all a big cover-up to hide the fact that the real couples are Lord X and Lord Y and Lady X and Lady Y. The townspeople have an inkling of what’s actually going on, but nobody dares say anything - and given who’s currently on the throne, does it really matter?
(I think it’s important to note that they recently found a secret passageway between the bedrooms of James VI and I and the Duke of Buckingham at Apethorpe Hall during renovations. Take that as you will.)
