Amazing quality fish at very realistic prices. Species on offer reflect what is abundant and caught better than most fishmongers. Slight glitch with my order dealt with within an hour of raising it. F... See more

Amazing quality fish, always arrives fresh and cleanly packed. It’s great to know where my produce has come from, supporting our own British fishmongers and to know they use fully eco recyclable mate... See more

Good Quality but Frozen Fish.

I always liked the fresh quality of the original Pesky market.
But it seems to confusingly have morphed into herd market at Barry Port.
Since then all fish has arrived frozen.
Now it seems to indicate frozen on the website, so draw your own conclusions.
To be fair there is nothing wrong with frozen fish.
My problem is I get high quality frozen fish from another source but cheaper.
Since it became herd market the prices seem to have risen, so I think I'm priced out of using it at the present time.

Here / gone / here it's rather confused

These guys seem to pop up, disappear, then pop up again. It just seems to unreliable. Now they are trading again. It's confusing though as they shut recently then emerged with Herd (farmers markets) distribution and now that has seemingly disappeared again from the Pesky website. We have tried to order three times this year. One was great, one was late and one was lost. That's not reliable enough for a small restaurant like us.

Sadly not as good as it used to be

My second order from the resurrected Pesky Fish and I'm sorry to say this will be my last. When this company emerged a few years back it was, simply, brilliant. Limited stocks created a buzz of excitement and the quality was well worth the effort of being online at just the right time. Everything was excellent, super fresh and good value. Now not only have prices gone up but it seems you get less for your money. A first world problem for sure if you are ordering scallops, but the hand dived ones that arrived when they were first around were large and of superb quality. My latest order (great excitement at actually securing some) was basically really disappointing. Small, did not appear to be straight our of the water as they used to be and the flavour when cooked was not great. Yes, I do know how to cook a scallop properly. my previous order was This was a great idea and was a great business, but the new iteration seems to be a significant drop from the heights of where they once were.
