They are very thorough and I appreciate that they are always available anytime I have questions. I appreciate the occasional meetings we set up just to make sure everything is correct. I also appreciate their patience and help when sometimes I have difficulty logging in to the microsoft virtual meetings. I like the monthly reports I get. This helps my accountant at the end of the year. Thank you!

These guys are clueless about classes or categories. Even if you already have everything classed and categorized they will erase them and throw everything into chaos.

I am to this day still reaping the effects of what they did to my 2023 accounting with the IRS.

If you have a roadside business, like selling kool-aid perhaps, they might be able to handle it.

Their Knoxville, Tennessee address is also fraudulent. Your initial contact will be with an American, which is deceptive. That's your first clue. They're based in India, and they're as fluent in English as they are in QuickBooks. Each session is a challenge. And you're bounced from one quasi-bookkeeper to another.

It's suspicious how they have so many 5 star reviews. I guess there are more kool-aid stands in America than I realized.

Because of this one expensive experience I am no longer able to rely on Trust Pilot reviews when shopping for help for my business, though I will continue to read and write reviews. I can no longer shop here.

Five star reviews are cheap to write. And I've found that when I write a negative business review the business immediately floods the platform with five star reviews to drown the truth.

For $3460.00 Remote Books Online rendered my accounting for 2023 completely useless, costing me time and money to reassemble the accounting.

I told RBO what I needed included in the accounting (classes) and why. It's a painstaking process, and I had done all of it. RBO completely ignored me and deleted *all* of my classes and categories. (!) The entire year has to be redone.

Therefore, I could not file taxes on time, which may cost me penalty fees. Though I will plea my case: Remote Books Online destroyed my accounting.

Remote Books Online is inept, dishonest, and does not understand QuickBooks.

Not cheap. On the contrary, they are costly. Remore Books Online is a complete waste of time and money. They are fraudulent.

I engaged with RBO in September 2024. I was told they would audit YTD and move forward with ongoing bookkeeping. I was also told they, by policy, would meet with us monthly to discuss our financials.

First, they deleted all of the records we had YTD in Xero. We use Xero for quoting as well as payments for our company. After deleting all of our records, they then had the audacity to send me a "Ask my accountant" spreadsheet asking for all of the data they already had. I spent hours going through our records to get this remedied.

Since then, they have thrown income and expenses into random categories that have nothing to do with each other, told me the books were done and would be available when they had not logged in over the past few weeks (seemingly forgetting I can see when they accessed the software), and finally failed to close 2 months claiming they needed information from me which I pointed out I had uploaded in their portal 6 weeks prior. At that point I insisted on speaking with someone senior who assured me he would personally handle our account and rattled through his credentials.

As I get ready to make payments to our SEP I noticed the "Owners Draw" is at least double what it should be. Why? Because they couldn't figure out 2 deposits in the business bank account (how a deposit into a non-owner account is an owners draw is beyond me). If I had 0 knowledge of bookkeeping/accounting and trusted this service I could unintentionally violate tax law because of their "bookkeeping." Our books are pretty simple and I could do them, but I relied on the seemingly positive reviews on this site and was happy to have my time freed up. Unfortunately, their quality and attention to detail is so atrocious, I am spending an equal amount of time if not more pouring over their work to see how accurate they are (spoiler alert - they are not accurate in any way, shape, or form). I have not had a single error-free month since signing up with them.

The bookkeepers are Indian offshored labor, which I have no issue with, but you have no line of sight to the people who have some of your company's most sensitive data. You don't know their credentials, if they're who they say they are (they have 1 generic bookkeeping email address and 1 generic sales email address), nor how many people are poking around your data within the group email. (You will also notice there are 6 profiles on LinkedIn for anyone with Remote Books Online. The company is "SELECTSYS INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED" if you want to research who works there.)

Do yourself a favor and find literally any other service.

I have been working with Remote Books Online for about 5 years now, I can say my clients books are done on time. The costumer service is great, and the portal is ease and secure.They have assisted us multiple times to beat major deadlines that have been crucial for our businesses.
