Awful, their sales rep promised to help build traffic on my webpage. I was extremely clear about having absolutely no emails clients and he said that isn't all they did. I signed up and gave my credit card then logged in to get started with the actual people, they said they don't do any web building under the 33 dollars as Nicholas the sales rep had promised. I phoned to get a refund and to cancel. On hold for an hour. They said they couldn't refund unless I sent one contact and email....I have NO CONTACTS
They said billing would review it and send me an email. The lady on phone did manage to cancel my account. No email from billing, I phoned again. Hour wait again, told me no refund and they said my account would be cancelled next mouth and I would not be charged. Finally an email from billing say no refunds!!! And that I had to cancel with at least 31 days notice...meaning I would be charged next month! I can't get my credit card off so I had to cancel my card!!!
The rep I spoke with was very knowledgeable, but the length of time it took to get to an actual rep was ridiculous.
Angel is an Angel! We were in a terrible situation with an email that had to go out today. I spent 1/2 this morning with a lady offshore and none of my changes seemed to take place. I have two platforms with ConCont and that made it that much more difficult. I called this afternoon and I was fortunate enough to have Angel answer. She was so efficient, charming and so very patient. She got both platforms worked out and saved me from jumping ship and going to mailchimp. I wish I could get a direct line to her in case I have any more problems! Thanks, Angel!

Constant Contact is OK. The event registration feature is very solid. The email editor can do most of what you want from a simple newsletter editor, but lacks some functionality. The entire site is very slow to load compared to all the other sites I use on a daily basis. The campaign search bar is horribly unusable—they took away the functionality to sort your search results by date/campaign type/status/etc. The button is still there, it's just grayed-out! I promise to update my review and add an additional star when they fix this feature.

We've had it for many years. The customer service is wonderful. The thing we DO NOT like is how many dashboard changes are being made. Once we have something down, then all of a sudden it changes. UGH! New learning curve when we're just trying to get business done. Other than that, we love the company

We have been using Constant Contact for years, mainly for email creation and deployment. We have also used it for event sign-ups and such. I appreciate the ease of creating emails (as this was not our first platform we tried), and how easy it is to upload the contacts we want to use.

I am out $1,100 because Constant Contact operates a deliberate scam: take your annual fee, ban your account on a false pretext, and then robotically quote their fine print to keep your money.
Here is the undeniable proof of their predatory model:
The Hidden Annual Trap: They charge the entire year's fee ($1,100) upfront, labeling it a "non-refundable credit." This critical term is buried in fine print, not disclosed at signup.
The Fabricated "Compliance" Pretext: They suspended my account for a "high spam complaint rate." This is a lie. My rate was 0.029% (2/7000+ emails), which is three times better than the industry and their own 0.1% standard. They invented a reason to cut off my access.
The Robotic Shakedown & Their Damning Email: After I called three times, their Billing Department sent the email below. Please read their own words carefully. They state:
"We are unable to authorize a refund... as Constant Contact has a no refund policy."
They quote sections 8.4 (Payment) and 12.2 (Termination) about "no refunds for any pre-paid Fees."
The Catch-22 They Admit To: Their email conclusively proves the scam. They are using the "no refunds" clause from the Termination section (which assumes the customer stops using the service) to justify keeping money after they, the company, terminated my ability to use it via a bogus suspension. They breached the contract by denying service, then cite the contract's termination clause to deny a refund. This is fraud.
Summary of Their Bad-Faith Scam:
Deceptive Sign-Up: Obscuring the "non-refundable" annual trap.
Pretextual Suspension: Banning an account for excellent performance (0.029% complaint rate).
Contractual Fraud: Citing the customer termination policy after they functionally terminated the service, refusing to make the customer whole.
Their final position: "We have your $1,100. We have banned you from our service. We will keep all your money. See our policy."
DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR MONEY. Their business model is to collect non-refundable annual payments and then find ways to forfeit them while providing no service. I am filing complaints with the BBB, my state's Attorney General, and my credit card company.
Choose any other reputable provider. Constant Contact is a financial predator, and this email is the proof.
Constant Contact placed my account under “review” despite my spam complaint rate being below the company’s own published compliance thresholds. To date, they have not explained how my account was allegedly non-compliant.
Once the account was under review, I was effectively denied access to the service I had already paid for. I was then faced with two options: remain on an unusable account or terminate. Constant Contact later characterized this as a “voluntary” cancellation and retained all remaining funds.
This characterization is misleading. Termination following suspension of service does not constitute a voluntary choice in any meaningful sense.
More troubling is the company’s refusal to address objective metrics while relying on internal discretion to justify both suspension and forfeiture of prepaid funds. Businesses should be aware that compliance with stated guidelines does not appear to protect customers from account restriction or loss of funds.
This experience raises serious concerns about transparency, fairness, and consumer protection.
