The support is terrible and the fees they charge you are insane.

Been a long user of Ricardo
Been a long user of Ricardo. Only the best experience. Top support!
unclear fees and poor communication
Very disappointing experience – unclear fees and poor communication
I had a very frustrating experience with Ricardo and would not recommend it, especially to occasional sellers.
I paid to advertise a listing, assuming that would be the main cost. Later, after the item was sold, I was charged additional “success fees” that were not clearly highlighted or easy to understand. I never intentionally avoided payment, I simply did not realise a separate invoice had been generated. The communication around fees is confusing, and invoices are easy to miss.
Instead of a clear reminder or helpful customer support, the matter was quickly escalated to a debt collection agency, which added disproportionate collection fees. What started as a small amount suddenly became a much larger bill, which felt completely unreasonable for a private user selling a single item.
The platform may be suitable for frequent sellers who already know all the rules, but for normal users, the fee structure is not transparent enough. Charging for advertising, then charging again after a sale, and then adding high collection fees creates a very negative user experience.
Because of this lack of clarity and the way the situation was handled, I have lost trust in the platform and decided to delete my account.
Ricardo should seriously improve:
Transparency of fees
Visibility of invoices
Fair handling before involving debt collectors
Overall, a very disappointing experience.
Terrible customer service
The Website is dying..
The Website is dying... Since there is no more real customer service.
Customer service is overwhelmed, with delays of up to 15 days even for emergencies. There are blockages and problems between users that go unanswered. It's a shame. Ricardo was good until the end of 2025. Now it's a disaster.
Thankfully there's eBay, Amazon, and sites like tutti.ch. We hope a new Swiss site will emerge soon.
This company sends out spam emails…
This company sends out spam emails including "welcome"-emails completely without email verification, which is completely unacceptable!
Unbelievably bad, really
This is the worst site and company I've seen for a long time. Their website is very bad and hard to use, they were not even able to implement a chat or do translation properly. They are asking HUGE commissions for doing nothing, you can implement a better platfor in half a day but I guess most people in Switzerland would stick to Ricardo anyways... I can't believe such a website could exists. Even in 2000 it would have been bad.
Terrible support
Terrible support, really nothing more to add. They just move all responsibility to buyer or seller - what are they getting the comission for?
Absolute scam
Absolute scam, i haven`t sold on the website, just received an offer which didn`t happen, but because the potential buyer didn`t respond correctly, they bullied me into paying a ridiculously high fee. Never again would I use their website.
Very great support.
Disappointing- hidden outrageous and illegal fees, terrible customer support
I have had a very disappointing experience with Ricardo. Their fees are not transparent and end up being outrageously high compared to what is initially indicated, especially with Boost which they reactivate even without your consent and charge you for that.
Also, in my case, they even relisted an item I had already sold via Ricardo and charged me a second time for the same sale!! And when I tried to get help, you are sent through endless automated steps before you can reach a real person, and once you do, the support is completely unhelpful and unwilling to resolve the issue.
Overall, I expected a reputable selling platform to have clearer communication, fair billing practices and accessible customer service. Unfortunately, that has not been the case.
Poor buyer support and high fees
After selling an apple watch and shipping the item, I received an unfair complaint from the buyer: the watch was perfectly working, but he did not know how to configure it.
Ricardo wasn't able to quickly mediate; I am still waiting receive a response from them, and even after the buyer was able to configure the watch (he sent me an email of confirmation), I called Ricardo and they told me they cannot close the complaint until the buyer tells them so.
Poor customer service and HIGH FEES. The platform is a no-go for me, and I will think twice before selling anything on it.
I’ve been using this second-hand…
I’ve been using this second-hand platform for a while, but honestly, the commission fees are way TOO HIGH compared to what sellers actually earn. After spending time creating listings, responding to buyers, and managing shipments, it’s frustrating to see such a large cut taken by the platform. It feels unfair, especially when other similar platforms charge much less or even offer better visibility for lower fees.
If the goal is to encourage more people to sell sustainably, the pricing structure should reflect that. Right now, it feels like the platform benefits more than the users who make it possible. Unless they reduce their commission, I’ll definitely consider switching to alternatives. I will definately look for alternatives
If the business goes well it's godd but....
If the business goes well, Ricardo is quite good but if things goes not as planned :
- service refuses document in PDF format, only pictures or document,
- it's very expensive,
- first rule, customer is WRONG...unles it can prove the opposite.

Scammers of the worst kind
Scammers of the worst kind!
I had a terrible experience with them. I sold a photo camera I had and after sending the product, my account got banned. I initially thought that the buyer reported me to get the product for free, but no, they flagged my account without any reason, and after one week of waiting a response from them, they unblocked it.
Also, B Post is showing as free when you create your sale post, but they ask you to pay 13 CHF after you sell for: POST! Unbelievable that these scammers are allowed to operate in Switzerland.

Instantly blocked for no reason
I created an account today, filled all the fields, and it was instantly blocked. No explanation, no nothing. Such an amazing, welcoming service.
