Professional polite delivery guys. Placed tumble dryer exactly where we wanted it. Explained about the 100 day returns policy for my membership. Even had a courtesy call in the morning to confirm my slot. Great experience.

Windows 11

About average. I have used Microsoft products since their infancy, mostly with ease. Now, I know I'm getting older, but it takes more clicks now to shutdown than it did before in Windows 10. Takes more clicks to find a file. To be honest, you call it better, but it has become an awkward dysfunctional individual. I believe if you subsist in your route without firm guidance, your child will overwhelm you. The Office suite seems satisfactory, but I need more time to evaluate it's performance.

Professional, polite, friendly staff. Trouble-free delivery and removal of old appliance and packaging. All appliances were strapped-in to the delivery van. All waste packaging removed. Excellent service. Thank you.

Yodel - the distributor to avoid.

They are pathetic. Cannot trace a parcel. Give useless explanations. When they have lost a parcel, they point you back to the seller!
Post Script: The reply from Yodel also confirms their inefficiency. My parcel was scanned into Yodel Llanelli on 30th July. There it sat! After my reachout to Yodel Customer service I received an email saying " After the investigation, depot is unable to share any concrete information within the investigation timeframe". They also advised "Due to this, we would request you to contact your sender, your sender will advise you of the next steps to follow and will liaise on your behalf." Considering the parcel had been received by Yodel Llanelli by scan, why refer me back to the sender? Then, very surprisingly, the delivery arrived on the 5th August.
I am pleased to get my delivery of course. My opinion of Yodel remains unmodified.

If you want a competitively priced battery, Tayna is the company you need to check out. Their website is easy to use and Tayna offer next day delivery to your home or a local business for you to pick up. They offer batteries for different applications e.g. leisure batteries, motorcycle batteries as well as car batteries. Excellent company to deal with.

Excellent service at Toolstation, Llansamlet as always. I only wanted one item today, but the staff here are super helpful. When I've been here in the past,ordering several items, they always offer to help me to the car with them. I have heard them advising other customers with their purchases. They really are good. Cheerful too, which is a rare commodity these days. Thank you all.

LV Claims Procedure

Someone ran into the back of my trusty steed, which I'd had since new in 2011. A sad day. With hindsight wish I hadn't decided to go shopping during school run hours. We exchanged details. Got home and looked up LV's phone number, with my policy number to hand I rang. There were a few options to choose, I chose new claim. I didn't have long to wait before my call was answered. My call handler was a very pleasant, sympathetic chap. He took lots of details. The call lasted about 40 minutes. If I had known this, I would have made a cup of tea for sure. He arranged for my car to be picked up and taken to our nearest authorized repair centre. This happened the following day. The call handler offered the use of a hire car, but this never materialised, I don't know why. In due course the repair centre sent their estimate to LV and the car was deemed Cat S - not worth repairing. This was upsetting, as it was like saying goodbye to an old friend. However, I have been paid slightly above "bottom book" for the car. LV communication was at all times clear and professional. What you would expect from a large insurance company. Made a difficult process much easier. Thank you.

The RAC, covering all the bases.

The RAC made this process very simple and easy to use, whether you are ordering for one vehicle or a few. Make sure you put in your RAC membership number to get extra discount. I was mostly interested in checking if there was any outstanding finance on a vehicle. The report is very comprehensive and for a few pounds gives you peace of mind.

Purchased 4 simple frames with inserts and perspex fronts. I measured exactly, several times. Inputting the sizes was easy. I have just received my order and I am delighted. The inserts were cut with precision. They look marvellous. Thank you.

OVO the Helpful Helpline

I just had a letter from OVO saying that unless I registered to go paperless, I would be charged an extra £1.50 a month for the privilege of paper bills. The problem was I never created an online account with OVO, just paid the bills as they were issued. I tried to create an online account, but the system rejected me and advised that I phone their helpline. There were only three options to choose when I phoned the helpline, which was refreshing. (Nothing worse than eight options where none suit your problem!) John, my call handler was polite, professional and knowledgeable. He quickly sorted out the technical difficulty attached to my account. He advised me of a help package that might suit my situation. Once the call was over, I was able to create an online account and set myself up as paperless. A very efficient service. Thank you.

Your First Stop for Seeds

Premier Seeds Direct is one of the best seed shops in the UK. Their website is easy to use. Their products are first rate in terms of choice and viability. Their prices are very reasonable. This should be the first place you look for your seeds. Once you order, you are kept well informed about your order's progress. Shipping is quick with reliable couriers. I have been their customer for a number of years and they have never disappointed.

Ancestry - My experience

I have been researching for more years than I care to remember. Ancestry's gold standard was the amount of family trees it stored. Good solid trees with plenty of proof. From what I can see, in an attempt to make family history research more accessible to the masses, Ancestry designed a system where if you thought a family was a good fit you could just click and add. No advisories suggesting you check the validity of the information. Not even a "Are you sure?" The result has been a massive increase in the number of family trees held on the database. Plenty of $/£ there I'm sure. Many of these trees are absolutely useless. You cannot trace a tree's provenance, i.e. where it was copied from. Which is important if you are looking for proof. Yes, you can search Ancestry for similar trees, but it is not the same as knowing where the data came from. I have always been disappointed with the user friendliness of Ancestry. They make searching hard work with their sidebars and poor displays of results. Nothing you can copy and paste which looks "nice". There is also the point that they charge extra for just about anything interesting. I know it is a business, but sometimes it seems a bit harsh. I currently use Ancestry for one dataset I cannot find anywhere else - a tad expensive, but there it is.
