Reassuring experience
Other than politeness, I found my insurance processor Ashanti Reid to be warm, honest when answering my searching questions and to be believed, especially important as I had never heard of Home Let. Overall, the experience was entertaining and not to be forgotten

Poor Application Handling and Lack of Transparency
I had a very poor experience with this letting agency.
My application for a room was rejected on the basis of “failing referencing,” yet I was never asked to provide any reference details during the application process on the Home Let system. No referees were requested, and I was given no opportunity to submit references or additional information.
I also provided evidence of sufficient funds in my savings account, which should have demonstrated my ability to afford the rent. This information was seemingly ignored and not taken into account at any stage.
Despite this, the agency retained my £80 holding deposit, stating they were entitled to do so under the Tenant Fees Act 2019. In my view, it is unreasonable to claim that referencing was failed when no reference details were requested and proof of savings was already available.
Communication was minimal and unclear, and no transparent explanation was given as to how the referencing decision was reached. Overall, the process felt unfair and poorly managed.
I would advise others to proceed with caution and ensure all requirements are clearly explained before paying a holding deposit.
