I had the best experience ever. I needed the special help because of a drastic change in my near-sightedness. My tax expert really was an expert in every way.
I have read some of these newer reviews and I completely understand. In my opinion they need to fire some of those people answering their HELP number. Many of them are ignorant, really do not help much and most of all have you ready to go elsewhere. In the past seven years any of the tax experts were all very knowledgeable an helpful.
I'm writing this to give hope to those who felt the way I did yesterday. In the end I was blessed to get one of their best TaxPreparers, who was also a CPA. I know the price is slightly high, especially for us being on a budget and fixed income. I didn't want charity, but for the individual attention and peace od mind with e-file for both state and federal returns, I did get my money's worth. AS they say "TAXES DONE RIGHT" and I got a good refund.
Don't give up. There is hope with TurboTax! Good Luck..

I didn't need expert service but they "recommended it". I finished and did not even need it, Now I have to clear my entire return or pay $179 for something I do not need, because they wont allow you to go back. A total deception to force you to keep and purchase it!

Turbo tax uses tricks to increase the preparation charge and does not give the customer any way to change the cost to the services that the customer actually needs. They give a support phone number but at the end of a 45 minute exercise, they tell you to erase the return and start over. And the same thing happens again. I just went to H&R Block and saved $130. The same thing happened to granddaughter and she got clipped for $100+ and could not change it......for one 1040.

You had it going in a reasonably proficient way. For years past I have used TurboTax and liked it because I could just pop in the CD, run through all the Home and business filing forms on my own schedule, file everything and call it done. These past few days have been a nightmare trying to get the desktop Home&Business software downloaded after a Staples purchase. This online system just plain sucks. Go back to the desktop and the CD!

You will have a better time getting dental work than figuring out TurboTax. Whatever you do, DO NOT PAY FOR IT UP FRONT. I was deceived by the TT website to make a TT product purchase before beginning my taxes... then when TT erroneously entered information (or didn't enter information) into my tax forms, I had to clear and start over my taxes... but couldn't due to the purchase of TT! I spent 4 hours on the phone looking for workarounds, a refund, anything. If you are an independent contractor operating as a sole proprietorship, and you pay for QB to seamlessly transport into TT.... GOOD LUCK. What a nightmare process!! We need a free IRS tax website for filing, not this TT BS.

2025 product is not as good as previous iterations. It has made changes and alterations more difficult. For some unknown reason I had three questions about whether my pension was Canadian. Downloaded information from my investment websites was not fully accurate or complete.

TurboTax ... Horrible product!
I have used TurboTax Premier version for 15 years and was pleased with the product.
2024 was a different story. After completing all entries and running the check routine that was error free, I submitted the return online. When I printed the return for my records, there were dark "watermarks" ****DO NOT FILE FORM NOT FINAL****. I googled this error message to find that many others encountered the same message. After a fight to get a live support person, I was told that the message was bc I printed the form before submitting it! NOT TRUE.
There was absolutely no concern about this message and the other explanation was that there were forms not yet revised but that would not effect the online submission!!! WHAT KIND OF RESPONSE IS THIS?

I was both disappointed and disgusted at this product. I was a systems engineer, quality control and software errors/correction is part of any software product. TurboTax obviously had NO QUALITY CONTOLS in place for 2024.

I decided to over look 2024 and purchased TurboTax 2025. THE EXACT ISSUE presented itself!!! There is NO EXCUSE for these errors! I caution the public to look elsewhere from here on when looking at Tax Software. Other reliable and supported options exist. Intuit TuboTax is not what it used to be and needs to be decommissioned as a valid tax prep tool.

I would like to get a refund for both 2024 and 2025 purchases of this horrible software! That will not happen, however, all consumers who supported this company and received anything less that a solid product should be compensated for the deficient software delivered to them.

Tried for first time today and then came here to read reviews. Like most say Intuit TurboTax is a horrible experience. Just read other reviews as I see no reason to even waste my time on this sad excuse for I don't even know what to call it,.

The 2026 version of Turbo Tax has a software bug that does not allow you to pay the state filing fees with a credit card if the expiration date on your credit card is after August. You have to select the month using a drop down box (month 1 through 12) and only the first 8 months of the year are selectable. For example, if your expiration date is 11/27, you can't select the eleventh month of the year from the drop down box and Turbo Tax will not let you process payment for the $25 filing fee with your credit card. Instead, you have to pay the filing fee with a deduction from your refund. Furthermore, because you didn't use a credit card, you have to pay a $40 refund processing fee on top of the $25 filing fee that is another deduction from your refund. Thus, this glitch costs you an extra $40. I have no idea what would happen if you DON'T have a refund coming as you wouldn't be able to pay the filing fee. In that case, it seems like the Turbo Tax software is useless.

The service used to be good, I had it done by pros on the same day but this year they matched me with a lady who is horrible, she didn’t call me for the appointment, the next appointment available is in 2 weeks! I feel like my tax refund has been taken hostage, ridiculous!

Online turbotax.ca was unable to add the dates to my already reported stock transactions. There was a glitch in their software. They had me manually add in the dates and the software still failed to send my return. After wasting 5.5 hours I was to by the support I would get a refund link for the product. The refund link did not work. I called in a third time and was told there were no refunds for the online version of their buggy turbotax.ca software. Switch to a different company. Turbotax is misleading and they are clearly not an honest company. Do not do business with them.

Fed product was acceptable for me (retired CPA Tax professional), but state products did not allow me to prove out the calculation before paying. As with the desktop product there is no customer service - they send you to FAQs and a user forum instead of providing CS staff. Here is what I tried to send to Intuit in response to their promotional email asking me to switch from desktop to online (received long after I had already filed with their product)...

Switched this year - somewhat frustrated especially with the state products.  Unable to see the forms before filing.  As a retired CPA, I expect to be able to see the forms I am signing before I sign them.  I am familiar enough with the federal forms to be able to confirm the result without seeing the forms.  However, with state forms that is not possible.  I did not use the state products (I file in 2 states) as I was unable to validate the result before paying for the product.  Now I see that I wasted my time writing this as this email is a no-reply address.  I will put this on a review instead.

Support specialists hung up on me twice and each time I waited for in line for 30 mins. I figured I would get a call back being that they confirmed my name email and profile. NOT a chance. Turbotax is good if you dont need help but if you require support DO NOT USE!!

this website is a terrible piece of crap. its not user friendly it doesn't load the options you need, the AI answers is crap. its starts you off assuming you are filing and only gives you those options, its redirects you all the way to the homepage every time you need to go back. the customer service line has automated help that also wants to avoid you ever reaching a real person, the wait times are terrible and they offer no assistance. in general everything you file with them gets returned and you have to amend it, they are not helpful transparent or accessible and they are frustrating to contact.

Terrible experience with TurboTax customer service (and with TurboTax). This service messed up my return - they put my SS number on my partner's W2. I didn't notice the mistake because I trusted TurboTax. Now I have to do an amended return and also send back the refund that I got (which was in error) and wait for my real refund. Then I have to call the SS administration to make sure that they fix the earning records for both me and my partner because it shows he earned nothing (and that I basically earned double) this year. When I contacted TurboTax there was no apology - they said, "you'll have to do an amended return". When I tried, that particular link on the TurboTax website says it is currently under construction so that I can't use it. I made an appointment with a real tax preparer who is local, and go tonight for an in-person consult. They said they will file the amended return (no way I'll be able to do it thru TurboTax obviously). I'll never use TurboTax again! I've had great luck in the past but have heard from many many people that for some reason their software is creating lots of errors for people this year (2025 tax year). BEWARE!!!!!!

Turbotax had difficult time downloading our information from Schwab and Fidelity. It tagged each download for review. We had to go over each box value and we never found an issue. We just clicked each value and it seemed to satisfy the review request. The program makes lots of assumptions without telling you. In our case it assumed we didn't need to itemize deductions. It assumed we didn't have health insurance, property taxes, state refund, donations..etc. I could not figure out why it jumped from the income section directly to wanting to file our tax returns. I found it very frustrating.

Do not use TurboTax. It is the biggest scam. These experts are not experts at all and once they get your taxes and delay them or they’re shady shitty software delays it for in my case five freaking days my taxes were ready to be filed not do it and yet no one could do a damn thing about it. It absolutely wasted my time and my money and they still charge me. I repeat do not use TurboTax. These people are just ridiculous. They’re not qualified.

Turbo Tax what a objectively terrible product. Intuit is a monopoly and spends tens of millions lobbing congress to keep their monopoly position. They have 0 incentive to help their customers. Its Feb 9th and still haven't bothered releasing the "amortization/Depreciation" form for rental property so still can't file. Oh and don't bother trying to call them for help, all you get is an useless AI agent.

I'm 65 and disabled and don't have to file because of income they said it would be free i did everything I was told and was charged 93.04 and when I questioned it they told me to request a refund spent 20 minutes with them said it would take 7 to 10 days in two minutes they emailed me no can do they r scamming old people it is not right
