Awful Service to U.S.

If you live in the U.S. do not order from this company. It seems they cannot deliver product to the U.S. in a timely manner. I've been waiting for my order for two+ weeks. They took my money immediately but they apparently don't know how to ship product across the border and do not respond to any messages and/or online chat. This is the first and last time I order. AWFUL SERVICE.

Company has gone downhill

They have insane delays for (i've waited a MONTH for my order to even ship) and when contacting customer support I got put in an endless loop of AI chat "help" with no humans in sight.. I feel disrespected by how terrible this experience has been and I'll never order from here again.

I've ordered countless other things from Canada to the US and have had 0 delays. I had one package get here within 4 days. This is completely unacceptable.

I want to love DavidsTEA.....but…

I want to love DavidsTEA.....but shipping to the US has become untenable

I placed my order November 30th. I received many, many emails that my order would be delayed, but that they were still working on it. On January 5th, I got a message that my order was on the way, but....nothing showed up at my door. a week later, I reached out to customer service, which is not a smooth or easy process. Finally received word that my package was being held at the local post office. When were they going to tell me that? I went to the post office January 15th, and finally collected my order. No complaints about the product, but I wish I would have had my Christmas tea for, you know, Christmas.

Worst experience ever.

I have ordered from David's Tea for 6 years running, specifically for Christmas. I placed my order per usual on Dec. 6th. received notice it shipped on Dec. 11th, saw on the website they considered my order "fulfilled". In reality my order has gone nowhere. I try to contact them and after speaking to AI numerous times, I try and contact them through their messaging service. I had to wait 2.5 hours to finally get a standard reply from someone. They don't know when my order will arrive, where it is, it's stuck in customs, let's blame the tariffs, etc. I am an understanding person and if any of this was communicated to me I probably wouldn't have ordered to begin with, but instead they continued to spam my inbox after I placed my initial order trying to get me to order more items "right in time for Christmas". Now, they can't cancel my order, but they can give me 20 points (which is nothing) to order more (WHY would I ever order more) and when I eventually receive my order, I can refuse it from USPS. SO, more work for me. Oh, and they blamed me for their lack of response in my two hour wait, because apparently I didn't know their business hours (no I did, I was on promptly at 9:30). Moral of the story, their costumer service is the worst and they will lie about your order status. IF you actually want some simple tea, go anywhere else.

Awful Customer Service Overall

Delayed Order, No Communication, and Refusal to Take Responsibility

I had a very disappointing experience with David’s Teas regarding a delayed Advent calendar order.

The company was aware of a shipping delay but did not notify me until later. According to the tracking information, the shipping label was printed, but the order then sat in a warehouse for over a week without moving. Once I was informed of the delay, I immediately reached out because this was a time-sensitive Advent item and asked to cancel the order before it arrived.

For over a week while the order sat in a warehouse, I repeatedly attempted to contact customer service to cancel the order and received no response at all. There was no opportunity given to cancel during that time. I was only able to reach someone after the item had already been delivered, by going online and using their live support.

After delivery, I requested a return for the Advent calendar only. I was then informed that a return would be accepted only if I paid for return shipping, despite the known delay and the fact that the product no longer served its intended purpose.

I want to be clear that I did not request to return the other items purchased at the same time—only the Advent calendar. Their stated 30-day return policy and claims that they will “work with you” were not honored in practice.

This was my first experience with David’s Teas, and it will also be my last. Based on how this situation was handled, I would caution others when ordering from this company.

No issues

I feel like consumers that review on Trust Pilot mostly come to report negative reviews. Im sure the issues the customers reviewing Davids tea are valid, but its a poor representation of the company as a whole. Its a reputable and legit company, not some shady side business.

I recently purchased various teas and mugs as xmas gifts. Everything was on sale, and the mugs are stunning, perfect size and come with a tea strainer and lid which is phenomenal. Unfortunately, two days after I ordered the mugs went to 50% off (I got them for 33% off), but I can't fault the company for that. I got two emails after I placed my order that shipping was delayed, but I got my order so fast that I didn't notice any delay. Despite placing two orders on two different days, the shipping was consolidated so I received both orders the sane day. Communication regarding delivery was excellent. I got an email my item was delivered as soon as it was at my doorstep. Mugs are fragile, and they were packaged safely and carefully.

I haven't experienced any issues and have been happy with my orders. I did receive an initial AI response to my query which was good, followed by an actual person which was nice. I haven't called them but they do have a contact number, which is a bonus.

I do wish many of the teas like the Peaches & Cream Oolong tea, Royal vanilla came in sizes larger than a 50 g - I do find this silly. It's a tiny portion.

I also find the $75 to get free shipping a great price.

I'm not deducting stars for this, but many of the teas have unhealthy ingredients like titanium dioxide, colours etc, I can't remember them all. They have one tea with probiotics and market this as healthy but all those bacteria will instantly die the moment they touch hot water. Overall, I find the tea quality mid, and I focus on getting teas with less ingredients rather than more. Some of the teas are fine, and some of them are like junk food/fun teas.

The gift keeps on delaying and failing

My order was placed and confirmed on 12/3. My shipping label was created on 12/10. USPS is still waiting for the shipment to come. What a joke. The Christmas packaged tea will be half the price when I actually get them after Christmas. (12/29 Now...no shipment no movement) They should print 2026 on the package instead of 2025 Christmas so we can gift them next year if the tea is still good until 2027.

Last time buying David's tea

I used to love David's Tea items, however my most recent interaction with ordering will be the last. I placed my order on December 1st for some sale items, an email was sent later Dec 6th saying that there are some delays in shipping which is understandable. However after my order was shipped on Dec 9th, there has been no update on shipping whatsoever, and no changes to the tracking. I contacted customer service and they say that it is in my home town, however the online platform for tracking does not even say this. The order location has not changed for 10 days, and now I receive a random refund to my order. No only does shipping take forever, they do not even notify you to say that something was left out of the order as it was out of stock, until you ask. Terrible customer service, they are using budget shipping companies, lack of poor communication. I will not be ordering or purchasing David's tea products again.

Don't do it.

Buy somewhere else. Anywhere else. I was a customer for years, but they have really gone downhill recently. I understand shipping delays, after 3 months of THREE SEPARATE ORDERS all mysteriously getting "lost in transit", I finally got through to a human and requested a refund. I got one refund so far, still waiting for the other 2 refunds. It is nearly impossible to contact a human at David's or at their shipper UNI UNI. I will open a case with my credit card company if necessary, but what a waste of time for tea. Never again

Lack of customer service

Update: I received the order today (December 10). Yesterday I received an email from (possibly) a real person at David’s Tea and another autogenerated one, both simply directing me to the shipper’s notification page that it was “out for delivery” for Dec 9 (which it wasn’t.) The notification was no different than what had been happening for the previous 16 days. I am happy not to be out the money and to have the product I ordered, but I won’t order online again given this experience. They need to change their shipping company, at least in Calgary.

I am adding to the negative reviews for David’s Tea. I have been a long-time customer and have certain favourite tea blends. I was happy to be supporting a Canadian company. I have stuck with them despite occasional past shipping issues but that has come to an end. I placed an order on Nov 17, which they shipped Nov 18. The parcel arrived in my home city of Calgary on Nov 24. It is now Dec 8. No parcel has been delivered and my attempts to get a resolution from either the shipping company or David’s Tea have been futile. Complaints go by email/website and are answered by AI, which doesn’t give a flip. I am hoping for a refund but given other reviews, I may be out of luck. I hope David’s Tea comes through with some customer service and that they can straighten themselves out to be a viable business. If only they answered complaints as easily as they send out marketing emails….

Scathing Review

Who wants to write a scathing review? David's Tea is an understandibly sinking ship. Their customer service is attrocious! They are absolutely inept and suffer from a serious disconnect from what it is to provide customer service. In my opinion, the company needs to make a concerted effort to develop some integrity or they will soon be non-existant. Don't give them a penny or you will regret it.

I would give a zero if I could

I would give a zero if I could. Apparently their shipping issues have become my problem and although my order still has not arrived a whole month later, they refuse to give a refund, stating that the order left their warehouse and that is their only responsibility

Delay in receipt unacceptable

Delay in receiving order is unacceptable. David's Tea website says US orders could be delayed, but should be received in 8 to 11 business days. After 15 business days not only haven't I received my order, I'm being told it is out of their hands and they are blaming US customs. They offer zero options to help, trace, etc. Their tea is great but very pricey (I consider it my once a year treat). Never again, though.

Davids Tea horrific customer service

Davids Tea online/website is garbage. The customer service is useless, dismissive and full of liars. I will never waste my money on them again. The absolute worst place to deal with and I hate how much I have spent over the years with them

Tea is great but…

Tea is great but business practices and customer service are terrible. They've delayed my order for two months because of a "possible" future postal strike, that has still not happened. All attempts at communication have been ridiculous. Stupid AI responses to my inquiries are infuriating. I give up. I will never order from them again.

Zero Customer Service for Premium Prices

Each time I go to their website, it’s is a time consuming chore to order anything. Despite buying tar from them for years, I have collected zero steeper points because their awards program is garbage. Tried to use a gift card from Christmas, but their site says the card is invalid and you can’t actually talk with any representative. They charge premium prices for medium quality tea and Customer service is non-existent. This company doesn’t care about its patrons.

Gone way down hill

Gone way down hill! This review is for the company as a whole. I had a terrible customer service experience with them. I ordered tea in November 2024. The Canada Post strike caused delays. After 6 weeks and still no status updates I sent a request to their customer service team. No response. Multiple requests and finally 2.5 months after the order, received an email saying my order was delivered and my inquiry was resolved which was not true. I then saw that the order status said that it was re-ordered. I asked them to provide some compensation for lying and the troubles I had to go through to get tea 2.5 months after ordering it and they sent an email saying " we're glad you received your order". Overall their inventory is poor and this is some of the worst customer service I have experienced. I have switched to another Canadian company - Tealyra and the inventory and experience is far better. You should make the switch too!

A Two Month Delay in Responding

I agree with everyone here. I placed an order on Dec 2, thinking it would easily be in my jands for Christmas. I got a notice 5 days later that it was being "processed", which still seemed okay. It finally arrived on January 8th!! And the order was not complete but there was no explanation for why there were missing items. I sent several messages to David's Tea and never got a response. I finally received a response on Feb 19, 2025 apologizing for the delay, saying it was due to a higher than normal volume of customer requests (it takes two MONTHS to respond???). The only way I would ever buy from them again was if I was in a mall with a David's Tea outlet. I would certainly never ever order online from them!

Terrible!

Terrible!
I placed an order 20 days ago and just got the notice that it was shipping today. I expect to wait while an item is in transit, I understand that the shipping itself takes time, but 3 WEEKS before it even ships is ridiculous.
This is just one of many frustrating experiences I have had recently with David's Tea. I would like nothing more to do with this company. This will be my last order.

Save the stress and don’t order online

Agree with all said here. This company has a wonderful product yet is so operationally dysfunctional and customer care void. I don’t even want the my order anymore because the experience has left such a bad taste (no pun intended) in my mouth. My order has been a disaster. Day I placed order, I was charged. That’s all they got right. After much delay they sent me an email with “shipment tracking” with an inactive link. Several emails to them and all I finally received was notice that the shipment is in transit. I guess it’s roaming the country on its own. I still don’t have my product and no customer service number to call and troubleshoot.
