A stressful situation dealt with professionally
Ive been banking with first direct for about 25 plus years. Never ever had a problem. The interaction over the phone about an unauthorised payment was clear prompt and precise.
Process was well explained and instruction given as to not dispose or delete any correspondence. Then instructed to call back so that card could be restarted.
A very stressful situation dealt with professionally and clearly, gave me a good night's sleep... thank you First direct.

What's not to like?
I have banked with First Direct for 30 years and I've never had a complaint. My Fixed Rate First Direct Mortgage is coming to the end of its term. I checked the existing customer offers with FD and those of the competition and found that First Direct came out on top. So this morning I called to get the ball rolling. It's now 19:35 of the same day and it's all done, agreed and signed. So easy to arrange. Customer service was great. Laura, who called me at exactly the time arranged to setup the switch to the new mortgage product was friendly, relaxed, knowledgeable and happy to talk thorough anything I wanted to clarify. I didn't feel rushed and there was no pressure of any kind. Highly recommend First Direct. What's not to like? Well played First Direct, well played! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Superb service on every level.
Customer service at First Direct is first class on every level and each time I ring them...for the following reasons: 1. Within seconds someone has always answered my phone call. 2. Going through security is seamless and professional. 3. All customer service staff have been utterly professional, polite, empathetic, kind and just pleasant to talk with treating me, as the customer, with respect. 4. All issues I have had have always been promptly resolved. No other bank acts in the way and that is why I prefer First Direct and have been with First Direct for so many years. Highly recommend this online bank.

The very helpful manner with which the advisor resolved the problem that I had, was second to non.
I am an elderly man who has little computer skills and not the best memory, however, I was calmly led through the necessary steps required.

No press 1 for this and 2 for that, the call centre is in the UK and the people are always friendly and helpful.
The banking app is really easy to use and I like the security features.

The Internet banking is superb.
I had my overdraft allowance reduced some time back.
And at the time, had been suffering mental health issues.
So as a result was incurring charges for a long while..
The chap at first direct knew! but,
recommended he'd reduce my ability to pay for bills.
But in a very polite and kind tone
I guess "my" timeless,
Spiritual Presence, the same as "your's",
brings Spangled fruit to fall ripe on trees...and renews all life in cycles..on Earth and throughout the Cosmos..So maybe I should put 2 stars? it don't really matter...in bird songs..

Just as bad as the rest - security lapses, block moving away
First Direct blocked a switch to Nationwide giving the reason that I did not provide my debit card number . This is compulsory on application so First direct are liars, anything to block customer moves. They have not been in contact with me about it so switch failed. This is evidence that they also have a serious lack of security as a third party tried to access my account to switch but have not contacted me .

Immediate action from the staff when I called them regarding a suspected scam. Card stopped & new one issued to my Apple wallet for immediate use & new physical card put in the post.

There is nothing bad to say about First…
There is nothing bad to say about First Direct - they are marvellous.
There staff are always friendly and helpful and their on-line banking is so clear and easy to use - you can't go wrong, but it is so reassuring to know that there is always help available if needed.
I love First Direct, have been with them over 20 years and would never ever change banks.

Messed up my login details and could not reconnect to mobile app. The customer srrvice person was really helpful and soon had me back up and connected. First class support, thank you.

I’m incredibly satisfied baking with FD. I find the app excellent and use it daily. I find the support team brilliant and I am just starting to find the additional perks that I didn’t realise existed for me through the daily notifications that pop up whilst banking. I would not want to choose to have my main bank account anywhere else really.
I had forgotten my password
I had forgotten my password but in the past it was simple but FD requested I call them, therefore numerous security questions etc etc and 20 mins of my life elapsed answering them. Surely this is not the norm for a password change?
