I have been talked into a medivet careplan last year february, which gives you apparently an array of benefits, a couple of check ups and the flea and worming included … I signed up in the practice, - danbury - i was charged straightaway £23.50 on 26/02/2025 then a direct debit was set up and the first payment came out 9th April, then every month £18.50 on the 9th. In January however they took 2 x £18.50, I called the practice and a very rude girlie advised me something about how the payments work that made no sense if you know math and the calendar (february had 1-2 days left so surely cannot be worth the full payment) then I contacted their so called customer care, I was reassured that they will not take any payment in February 2026 as then the 12 months will be paid with the extra payment. Oh but you guessed it right, february 2026 also saw a payment come out and then in an email i was informed that the next plan the price is going up. I have cancelled the direct debit straight away but no refunds, and noone seems to bother, i got two bogus phone calls apparently from them however both times i answered noone uttered a word into the phone, so guessing the box was ticked that I was contacted and unreachable, looks good on them and they can say they contacted me! Do not sign up to this careplan! Its a headache and a money making scheme with noone to take your complaint seriously. I dont appreciate my bankaccount being charged without my permission!

Building work meant my cat and I were left standing in a wet car park for 10 minutes.
My cat was shaking in fear.
Once in the vets for the 6 month health check the vet could barely check her as a powerful drilling sound frightened her further.
No warning was given when I booked my trip a few days before, I could have delayed my visit as it was non urgent, very unsatisfactory and horrid experience for both me and the cat.
Felt like they just wanted me in to gain the money due from the 6 monthly check on my plan!!!

The vet was lovely with my dog however this appears to be a money making opportunity. I was given medication which may not have been needed for my dog. £159 for a stomach upset seems ludicrous. The charges at the Vets may hinder families being able to provide proper medical care for their pet. This really needs to be looked into. I have two dogs and wouldn’t be able to ensure that one of them got the help they needed if they had the same issue which is a real worry. I also got told by the receptionist that I was lucky that I paid into the pet plan as I got 10% off and how worth it was. Not for me I’m afraid. Need these tariffs looked at before we start losing our pets due to not being able to pay vet bills.

Sadly on this visit I felt like the veterinary nurse was trying to find an issue with my dog just so I would spend money which is a real shame because everyone else I have seen prior to this person have been very complimentary friendly I felt under scrutiny because my dog barks with the comment of what are you doing about this? Only thing keeping me here is 90% of the staff are friendly and respectful

Purpose of the visit was annual booster and health check.
The health check consisted of weight and chest only.
Very minimal interaction from the vet. Literally in and out in 2 mins.

We switched from Vets4Pets to Medivet…
We switched from Vets4Pets to Medivet in Parkstone and it’s the best thing we’ve done for our dogs. We have a German Shepherd that is quite sensitive and was extremely anxious at our previous vets. Since joining Medivet, each Vet that we have dealt with has taken the time to make her comfortable and relax before carrying out any health checks and now she is more than happy to go to the vets. Andre and Miguel have gone above and beyond to help us with an ongoing health issue and we’ve seen huge improvements in our dog since we’ve joined Medivet. Brilliant vets with genuinely caring staff!
