I stayed at Scandic Hamburg Emporio with my family on July 27–28, 2025. Unfortunately, we forgot a small green cabin suitcase in the room when checking out.
What surprises me most is that the hotel never contacted me to inform me that the suitcase had been found, even though it was clearly registered and kept by them. I only realised the mistake myself and contacted the hotel on August 19, 2025. The following day, they confirmed that the suitcase had been found and could be shipped to me for approximately €55, which seems quite expensive for a small cabin suitcase.
I asked whether a cheaper shipping option was possible, but from that point on, communication stopped entirely. I have since contacted the hotel three times, including clearly stating that I am willing to pay the €55, and repeatedly asked them to send the suitcase — without receiving any response.
I am genuinely shocked by the level of customer service. The hotel confirms that the suitcase has been found, yet fails to inform me proactively and ignores repeated follow-ups. In my opinion, this is unacceptable.
Overall, this experience has left a very negative impression of Scandic Hamburg Emporio’s handling of lost property and customer service, which is especially disappointing as the hotel itself is otherwise very nice.

Cold, worn out and very basic
Our experience of staying at Scandic Hvidovre was far far below our expectations, especially considering the high price.
We particularly picked this hotel for its pool so we could go swimming with our kids there. The hotel is meant to be 'family friendly', but the pool (both the water and air temperatures) was SO cold we couldn't stay in for more than a minute. When I asked reception if they could turn up the heat I was told that 'no one else had complained' and it should be '25 degrees' (which it most certainly was NOT) and it wasn't 'really for children'.
The same answer came when I told how cold our room was - our kids were cold in the night, even with layers and layers of PJs.
I was told they couldn't change the temperature, but I could try turning the radiator up to 5. That changed nothing.
The first room we were assigned has so much mould in the bathroom so we asked for another room. In that room, the second bunk bed couldn't be folded up, but that wasn't much of an issue. It was very tiny (standard family room), considering most families will need space for things like a cot, buggy etc.
The rooms were incredibly basic and didn't have any of some of the quite normal things you'd expect in a hotel room: kettle, tea or coffee, a bedside table for example.
The reasons I'm still giving them two stars is for their lovely little playground and playroom (small, but at least an indoor space for kids to hang out a while).
We won't be staying at s Scandic Hotel, neither this nor another one, again. The price is high and the experience was sadly disappointing.

Scandic ( Hvidovre) They do not clean your room if you do not order it in the reception everyday!
In SCANDIC (HVIDOVRE), You need to order cleaning of your room in the reception otherwise the cleaners will not come and clean your hotel room everyday even this is included in your payment. You need to know this because they will not tell you unless you ask them after Wondering why during your stay. Their Coffee machine is a waste of Coffee if you are not used using automatic Coffeemaker using Coffee capsules. You'll get stressed learning and reading the instructions in english only to get disappointed because you cant make the coffeemaker work anyway. The superior room is not an air-conditioned room. The water in the swimming pool is too cold, the lights inside the pool area turns off suddenly, it's sensor lights i think. If you do not move, lights do not turn on While you are swim. The parking area at the back of the hotel has several old black-colored dog shit scattered on the grass, on the parking road. Luckily, I didnt step on it. Also, always ask for receipts if you can, sometimes i feel what they show you on their card reader is not the same on your bank account. The receptionist showed 70 kr. for 2 hansen ice cream cones but reflected 78kr. on my bank account.The danish flag for my 56th Birthday placed on the restaurant table is ugly and pathetic, the flag's thread is loose. The red wine is cold. Breakfast is limiting, controlled atmosphere, not so many choices to enjoy breakfast. We checked out the next Day.1 out of 4 days we paid for. The experience doesnt fit our expectations and value for our money. Made me very sad on my Birthday. Lastly,, if you pay with your dankort, they will not refund your payment right away because their receptionists are amateurs, they need their supervisor to teach them how.

I have been in contact with Scandic member customer service for the last 3 months, about missing Scandic Friends points, due to their system not working correctly…
Despite sharing the proof of purchases with additional information as asked by them, and numerous follow ups during this and the past months - i am still awaiting a reply since 3 months back…
Simply ignored. Worst customer service EVER and i strongly consider never staying at your hotels any longer for my business and private travelling.

0 STARS FOR SCANDIC HOTEL NORGE BERGEN - A nightmare experience.
Supposedly a 4 star rated hotel that should be rated 0 star!!!
For simplicity I will list the enormous problems I experienced at this so -called hotel. This place gives the word hospitality new meaning!
1. A room so dark that whatever dropped on the floor was lost forever - The lack of proper lighting made it impossible to see anything in the room during the evening hours.
2. The room had the word "ESCAPE" written on the wall as a decoration - sadly, I didn't but I should have taken the warning!.
3. NO AIR CONDITIONING - THE ROOM WAS SWELTERING how can that be 4 star?
4. 2 HANGERS - yep, a total of two hangers, my neighbour also had - 2 HANGERS - how can that be 4 star?
5. The sleeping pillows, although having clean linens, were WERE DIRTY underneath the pillow cases. They smelled of unwashed hair! The smell was very strong, disturbing and simply disgusting.
6. On the evening of 23 May 2024 I went to bed at about 10:15pm. At 10:30pm a STRONG VIBRATION and POUNDING BASS MUSIC travelled straight up THROUGH to the 8th floor. My room was actually vibrating and the sound was extraordinary, considering a hotel is where people should be able to sleep when they want to. Sleeping was not possible until 3:30am when the music stopped. The lady in the room next to me met me in the lobby - very bleary eyed, she asked if I also heard the music throughout the night and the morning. It is unbelievable that this is allowed to happen - we were actually denied sleep at the NORGE BERGEN! This is quite an amenity for a hotel !!!!
On a slightly better note, the staff at the hotel were lovely. Marianne at the front desk knew all about the music, the vibration as well as the HOT, AIRLESS, BADLY VENTILATED AND UN-AIR CONDITIONED ROOMS. She kindly refunded half of my hotel stay - which by the way was taken 100% in ADVANCE of my departure date - this is done (most likely) to prevent the hotel guests from leaving in droves. WHAT A TERRIBLE HOTEL - 0 STARS!

Our previous stay in February 2 years ago was great and I wanted to treat myself to the same experience… but no, don’t go there when us warm in Berlin.
My recent stay at Scandic Spectrum…
My recent stay at Scandic Spectrum Hotel unfortunately fell short of expectations due to a significant issue with inadequate curtains in our room. Despite raising our concerns multiple times, we encountered delays and ineffective solutions from hotel staff.
Upon arrival, we noticed excessive light infiltration into our room, disrupting our sleep and overall comfort. Despite our efforts to address this issue through emails and phone calls, the hotel's response was lacking. It took multiple follow-up calls to reception before staff attempted to address the issue with makeshift solutions, such as taping up the curtains.
Unfortunately, these measures proved to be ineffective as there were still numerous gaps through which sunlight streamed into the room. Despite our efforts to resolve the issue, we were left disappointed with the hotel's response and the substandard conditions we experienced.
Attached are photos documenting the extent of the light infiltration despite attempts by hotel staff to address the issue. As a result of this unsatisfactory experience, I regrettably leave a one-star review for Scandic Spectrum Hotel. Prospective guests should be aware of the inadequate curtains and the hotel's response to guest concerns.
I hope this feedback prompts necessary improvements to ensure a more satisfactory experience for future guests.

I recently stayed at Scandic Kungens Kurva hotel, Stockholm Sweden, I had a lovely stay , the rooms were clean and fresh, great shower / bathroom, the staff were fantastic, so helpful and friendly, ten out of ten , nothing was too much trouble! Had bed and breakfast, excellent breakfast so much choice and great quality, loved it. If I had any criticism it would be, the lobby is very dark and needs brightening up, same for the restaurant, also the outside of the hotel is a dull grey , really needs a facelift, everything else great .
(Too) smart business model / overpriced restaurant
Stayed at Scandic Sydhavnen Coprnhagen 30 June-1 juy. Room okay. But we oordered four salads in the restaurant, each at 25 Euro, altogether 100 Euro. It was salad (90 %) with cucumber and chicken balls. Nothing else. No tomatoes, olives, croutons, radish or similar. The philosophy at Scandic seems to be, let's sell the rooms cheap and then sell some overpriced sh...to our customers. But think its a wrong strategy. At least I learned my lesson. I won't go there again.

At the Scandic hotel Karl Johan in Oslo . Teeny room where we had to hang our clothes over the bed. The room was never swept, as there was a piece of tissue on the floor when we arrived and it was still there when we left. One day they didn't make the bed because i had left my pj's on the pillow. Towel trollys were blocking the stair well which was the emergency fire escape. When we complained, the manager just kept saying we had a pet in our room, which we did not. Vacuum cleaners were left on the corridors until 11 at night. And the company has not responded to our complaints at all. Disgusting place.

Centrally located, very convenient, all needed amenities provided. A good choice of breakfast. Gym (small but had all the basic equipment) & sauna were an excellent addition. Our room was clean and the staff helpful and friendly. Although the hotel is in the middle of a shopping street it was quiet in our room. WiFi was easy to connect to.

Muuuuch superior to any other baked beans I have ever tried.
I could go for breakfast there and forget anything else. Just go for those BEANS F A N T A S T I C !!!!!
Don't trust your creditcard to Scandic CPH Strandpark (Kastrup) - they will use it randomly
I stayed overnight in Scandic CPH Strandpark near Kastrup airport on 30-31st October 2022. My room was prepaid by an external company I travelled for. This has been confirmed at the front desk upon check-in. Still I had to hand in my creditcard for incidentals. Much to my surprise I was notified by my creditcard company that the hotel actually charged the room rate on my own creditcard. After some research work it appeared that the employee despite having confirmed that my hotel overnight stay was already paid for erraneously did this. They did refund me the surcharge, however not the handling/exchange difference which amounted over Euro 5 (due to non-eurozone). When I asked the hotel manager to make up for their mistake - he simply told me that ''from their end all was handled correctly'' (..). Be careful to go into this place. They just rip you off without any excuse and refer you to your credit card company to make up for the difference!

I have just visit Scandic in Gdańsk for 3 weeks and that was a very good stay.
The people, rooms, restaurant was nice and kind.
Special thanks to the girls in the restaurant, they was smiling, happy and ready with a quick joke.
Especially one of the girls (don’t know the name) was awesome with smile, happiness, jokes and fast.
