Purchase of Google Pixel 9a
I recently purchased a Google Pixel 9a from Staples on Merivale Road in Ottawa Canada.
Several employees, but especially Sazzad Hossain, were very helpful and patient through the whole process.
He went beyond the basics, and took me through the whole process carefully and thoroughly.
I went back several times for help, and each time his help was clear, understandable, and friendly.
This experience certainly made me want to return to Staples for other products and services.
Thank you very much!
James Reynolds
I went to the Bayfield Street location…
I went to the Bayfield Street , Staples location in Barrie to print a few pages of Manulife travel insurance. The email document attachment was password protected. I was advised to use the self serve printer. I was unsuccessful. I returned to the service desk and was told to try again. Twice I was charged .21 on my cc, for a blank printed page. Again I returned to the service desk. A different rep checked my document on his computer, I provided password and he stated I would need to rent their computer- paying per minute of use, then rent printer paying again per page. No instructions or assistance. I asked if he could do it for me and I would pay. He refused. Both representatives were extremely unhelpful, and obvious in their avoiding to give assistance. After 40 minutes, I gave up and left. I went to a Georgian Printshop and the printed it for me , 2 copies of the actual card for $6.00. It took less than 5 minutes. I was thrilled with their professionalism and willingness to help! I highly recommend this business for any business or personal print jobs, big or small!
Is Staples intended to fail?
ZERO score, if I could.
Purchased online for the free pickup return. Went with the best of the lower priced sale printers. Spent so much time comparing various sale models, so too weary to then google reviews. My bad. Could have avoided spending 40 mns waiting for the shite HP printer to spit out the first few of pages from the online manual.
(Apparently 6-10 mns per page to print is not uncommon for this particular POS model. Like : WTAF? Why is HP even bringing these to market?)
Went online, filled out the Staples return pickup form on a Fri or Sat, asking ME what day to come by
and emailed a couple of Qs.
Immediately received email confirmation of the Monday 9-5 window for pickup
and within 12-18 hrs,
received a seemingly live response directly addressing what I'd asked about packing requirements,
politely indicating I could reply with any further questions.
I replied Monday evening asking if a courier no-show that day meant they would return next day,
on the off chance I might hear before end of Tuesday.
After no courier appeared Tuesday (I can't WFH all week!)
I fwded the previous day's reply with basically an 'umm..wot?" and asking if I was expected to just re-book and cross my fingers.
It's Thursday, and have STILL received no reply to either email,
nor any information whatsoever.
Like: is it delayed? Not happening?
Or is this software to pull a bait-&-switch to run out the clock on the return/refund window?
Because complete radio silence seems pretty suspect.
So I'm lugging a printer to a storefront and leaving it there.
Will never purchase from Staples again.
Figured I'd see about a 3/5 Trustpilot with a smattering of 'okay' reviews.
The 1.7 and my own experience makes me wonder if the store has been bought out by private equity and the plan is to fail.
FWIW: at the store where I drop off shipping, the staff are generally helpful and as available as they can be, although it seems to have the heavy vibe of oppressively bad management, poor wages and (justifiably) unhappy staff. Can't blame them.
Never received print order.
I ordered documents to be printed for a publication on 6 January 2026, and was told it would be ready for pickup at my local store within 1-3 business days. After several messages to customer support and a call to the local store, my documents are apparently still “in transit”, and they’re only going from Dartmouth to New Minas, an hour drive. It’s been over two weeks and I haven’t received any clear answer on where the documents are or when I’ll actually be able to pick it up, and at this point I’m likely to miss the publication deadline because staples can’t seem to do the one thing they advertise for. I’m going to demand a refund at this point. Shame on staples. Avoid if you can.
Pick up the Phone!!!
I was shopping for a computer, I purchased on from Staples a few years ago and didn't have any issues then. Now my husband needs one so I thought I would purchase it from Staples. I wanted to ask a few questions before I took 45 minute bus ride there. I tried for 2 days and no one would pick up the phone. Just kept ringing. Needless to say I bought the computer from somewhere else.
Horrible
I wish I could choose less than 1 star. Staples is HORRIBLE! Customer service is non-existent. I will NEVER recommend Staples to anyone!
Went in looking for an item that said…
Went in looking for an item that said they had 4 in stock at that location. Was helped by one employee who told me she was new but hadn’t seem what I was looking for. She went and got a scanner to confirm stock it also said they were in stock. She went to another team member who told me that head office probably said they were sent and never sent them. I left after 3/4 of an hour of run around. Ordered on line from my car in their parking lot, ordered from same store at 10:55 got a reply at 11:21 to say my order was ready for pick up.
Sale item was charged at regular price
Sale item was charged at regular price. Customer service was rude and unapologetic
Bought a Windows Pro 11 product key…
Bought a Windows Pro 11 product key (Download) version thinking I would just get a straight email with the product key hence "download" version and it seems after check out, got email confirmation, am getting a "ship-to" still.
Immediately cancelled the order asap upon finding this out and have waited over 10 days for a refund as per terms and conditions I had researched, regarding Staples. Ca order.
I had never received the item and online Staples.ca order status shows shipped but NVER DELIVERED. I received no proof of delivery email as well.
Called Customer service and advised product key orders are non-refundable which am aware of hence why I cancelled the order asap online through their online cancellation request, and again, NEVER RECEIEVD THE ITEM.
I had called several times to be told it's non-refundable when I explained I NEVER RECEIEVD THE ITEM.
Called again today and was told they will make an 'Exception' even if this is a non-refundable purchase. again, I reiterated "I NEVER RECEIEVD THE ITEM". If they are diligent enough as they say they are, they would contact Windows support, ask for the product key associated with the purchase, to see if this has been activated or not. They will find it was never activated since I keep telling them "I NEVER RECEIEVED IT"!!!
I used to work for Staples as a Tech Consultant so am aware of their policies and procedures and left on a good note with zero issues and a good track record even receiving accolades for my time and tenure. I left because of Managerial politics which I refused to be part of.
I do not make a habit of fooling people or vendors and am just sincerely and honestly wanting my refund for a product 'I NEVER RECEIVED"
Been in customer service for 10 years and this is one of the worst customer experience (experiences) I have ever had to deal with. The people I spoke with had a condescending tone and make it sound like am just bullshitting or lying through to get a refund,
I explained I used to work for them so defrauding them is not something I would EVER do, having left on a good note.
Am now being told, again , this is to be investigated in another 24 hours, knowing they will not do shit again.
Now I know why Staples ain't doing so well anymore. Outdated products, Low inventory and staff with zero active listening skills definitely contributes to this.

Ordered a document print (online) on 14 December 2025, still nothing today. 5 January 2026. Contacted customer service several times by email, no help at all so far. Tried to cancel, not easy either!
Items undelievered
Items undelievered, when called about issue got 0 assistance, will not ever buy anything from staples and i would advise anyone not to use the online service as its very close to a scam

PI bought a Canon Selphi 1500 in your store.. Problem your store does not sell ink cartridge for the printer.
Solution-do my shopping elsewhere.
Ordered the Norton Premium with…
Ordered the Norton Premium with Utilities Ultimate Antivirus on Boxing day special. Price was good, everything went through Paypal and the cost show up in my credit card. But after that no contact from Staples or any other information. Is the order cancelled or went through? Leaving the customer in limbo is very poor customer service for a retailer. Now I will have to file a dispute with Paypal, what a pain. Do I go ahead and buy from somewhere else or wait.
Staff needs training on how to talk properly to the guest.
I had a very bad experience in Staples Sarcee trail Calgary. Very bad customer service!
I am 71 year old senior
I am 71 year old senior, I purchased an iPad cover through Staples Canada to be delivered to Regina East store for pick up. I cannot get to the store but my wife can pick it up. I have requested two times if that is possible if I give her the credit card, assigned note from me to the store and my passport to verify my signature if she could pick it up, they said no that is the worst customer service and Unreasonable policy I have ever experienced and it’s winter time traveling right now along with 40 minute one-way drive to the city and my wife goes in every day and she isn’t allowed to pick it up for me. Ridiculous.! BNA in Edgeley sk.
Horrific shipping
Horrific shipping. I selected ship to store because I had just moved and my billing address wasn't my address anymore. I thought that the package would be safe at the store and I would just go pick it up, that's the choice I made when I ordered. They shipped to my billing address and I can't get the package from the post office because my address doesn't match on my ID. They also never updated the shipping info and it still says "shipped" but not yet "in transit", so I only found out that it had been shipped to the wrong place because I contacted the Staples live chat.
I'm livid. I can't get the items I paid for because they shipped to the wrong place.
Horrible shipping services
Horrible shipping services. I am at 1055 west Georgia St and there is a whole line over 15 people and just one person attending!!!

Blown away by the amazing service at the North London Staples near masonville.
The manager Travis...Wow, he is so positive, so friendly and seems like an amazing manager for the staff there. Alexander at the Amazon return desk was also VERY effective. There was a huge lineup but you could tell he was doihis best with the amount of returns
Poor customer service
We went to the staples store in simcoe and once again had a horrendous experience unhelpful and no care attitude of these young employees who don’t have a clue what customer service is all about never going there again
