Rubbish company
PA Housing Tennant.....made a call 8 days ago for a faulty toilet. Plumber came out, 10 mins later was told it was fixed. Next flush--noise and flush worse than before ! Oh yes ! Appointment was 8-1, had to phone at 1.05 to see what was going on. Finally turned up 1.45.
Yet another appointment, again 8-1... phoned at 1.05 to be told plumber is 10 mins away.... 40 mins later he rings to say he's 15 mins away....
Says he's fixed it... flush still sounds like a foghorn, low and behold toilet now leaks ! Rang the out of hours emergency number to be told, contain it yourself until the problem is solved. Someone will call within 24 hours ! Mean time, 4 towels later, still leaking !
Not a good start with this company
WOW! Wates reviews 1.3! This is not surprising. They are contracted to Peabody Housing for repairs. I called them this morning being 6th in the queue and the guy hung up on me! Not a good start by any means.

Appalling service even if it is free.
Complete miscommunication, no managers overseeing jobs. Operatives have used my heating and smoked in my house firstly. Secondly The works are not complete despite being told my house would be ready to move back in to today. Had numerous issues with contractors leaving my front door unlocked whilst on site and also leaving holes in my walls and ceilings. Rewiring was done yet plug sockets hanging off walls. Monkeys could do a better job. Managers are rude and pass the buck. Will be suing due to making me be out of my house with mental health issues and no where to go. Bathroom is a completed however no bathroom floor has been placed, bath hasnt been sealed and bath panel left off. Holes all over my house like a rat has been eating away. Also Despite a car accident also this week due to being out of the house, wates are the reason for all issues. I want them to come back and fix it and once its been resolved ill be taking this complaint as far as possible. Ombudsman and housing association has been let know. Do not use wates. They should be called waste. When telling Graham the site manager about these reviews he said he was completely unaware at how poor his operatives are at their jobs. Now we have to wait another week before I can go home due to operatives not working every day, days missed equals jobs not being finished on time. DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WILL BE CONTINUING TO REVIEW POORLY UNTIL SOMETHING IS DONE.

Came to do a damp wash ended with toliet pipe being knocked with elbow water everywhere not a plumber so turned water off left could not even wash of mould treatment now left I have no water

Terribly Incompetent – Avoid at All Costs
Wates Construction has been completely unable to resolve a simple leak, despite three separate visits. Getting in touch with them is a nightmare, and when you finally do, the phone calls are confusing and disorganized, with staff clearly not understanding which orders have been raised. Appointments are frequently cancelled or rescheduled at very short notice, which is extremely inconvenient. Overall, their service is unprofessional, unreliable, and incredibly frustrating. I would strongly advise staying far away if you want anything done properly.

if i could leave no stars i would.were do i start this company have been contracted by midland heart housing association to bring homes up to modern standard,well shame on you midland heart, from start to finish ive had a nightmare off experience, had my bathroom and kitchen ripped out on same day all in 3 hours the very rude workmen turned up at 15,30 when they was Meant to turn up at 8oclock in the morning none off them had id im down on midland heart housing association as a vulnerable Tenant , due to my mental health and physical health. i was left 4 weeks without use off a kitchen and bathroom .the foul language from the workers was really worrying. my windows were replaced and my blinds were damaged and Unplaceable and are going to cost me a lot off money, ive had too call management on a lot off occasions and The lies and promises they give you is so unprofessional, i could write a lot more off what ive had to put up with and im still got problems with the poor Workmanship. that needs putting right.im currently in the process off speaking to the housing omnibus man in regards to my ongoing issues,

My dog how I hate Wates. If they can't pick up the phone and I have to wait an hour and a half to speak to them every time, at least could they not choose the most annoying, whistling, bad quality waiting music with the longest, most repetative and meaningless 'your call is important to us, blahalbalahbalahal' tagline? Suffering real brain damage here. Not to mention you know, any of the important issues with their service, which I by now just assume they are of course would be incapable of improving.

Reported it 2nd time - nice person came but didn't know crank windows. Promised a callback - never happened. Job was closed again.
Reported 3rd time. No appointment. Nothing.
Made formal complaint to Lambeth. Appointment in three weeks time. 15 Jan.

They have no respect for elders they are cocky,liars they eitheir damage what electrical euiquipment they install and lie to customers knowing dam well they lie. Their attitude towards vunerable women in bungalows is discusting.
They leave electrics unsafe or break what they install. I'm bringing in trades n standards in new year to look at their work. They as bad as for housing and seem to enjoy making vunerable /mh tennants life a misery. My doctor has requested elsewhere for shower what is half decent to help with medical problems and these cowboys won't be installing it. Wanted to upload photo of shower and how it's not sealed off properly very dangerous as water and electric don't mix.never known a firm as bad

They are currently responsible for Citizen Housing Association tenants updates to bathroom and kitchens.
Wates are salesmen. They will sell you a dream and that dream will turn into a nightmare.
Wates are a company that is more than happy to install or create defects and don't have any intentions to rectify them. They are more than happy to apply paint that is not water based or wipeable within your bathroom. Ive wiped half the paint off already. If you know anything about decorating sanding down anything before you paint is a standard practice. This isn't theirs. Standard process of decorating are missed due to laziness and when you mention it they will dismiss you or make out wanting a defect free bathroom is unreasonable.
If you value your hard earned money please spend it with someone who actaully takes your concerns about your property seriously. The fact that they are contractors to Housing association should inform you of the type of quality they install. Who is ever satisfied by social housing standard? They dont even want to meet those.
Pleaae spend your hard earned cash elsewhere.

I wish I could give them a zero star. Scheduled maintenance been changed several time. Finally schedule for 10th December 25. Received two text messages that engineer will come between 1pm to 5pm. I had to take a day off annual leave for this. Engineer did a no show and no courtesy call or text to even let me know the reason for this no show. Poor customer services and a terrible company. Sadly they service most council and housing association properties. They are just a bunch of scammers who probably on contract and already paid by the council and housing associations so not even bothered to do actual work. Many times I have found guys in Wates van loitering around near our place which are properties mostly rented by council and housing association tenants. For hours these guys parks and sits in the van and then drives off. Most likely what they do most days. Clocking in time and not attending to jobs. Having lunch breaks after sitting in the parked van for hours then come back in their van after a long lunch break. Loitering again in the van parked probably close to where their jobs were supposed to be so that the trackers pick up that they are at job sites and then at the end of day may be writing B.S. reports to cover their tracks and attending to jobs another day. That way it could be the company also logging on multiple visits to keep their contract targets. It seems that this company and its workers are all rotten to their core. Corrupt organisation and workers. When they do come around they fob you off. Really disgusting behaviour. I have lost one day annual leave due to them. There seems to be no accountability on their part and surely no consequences. I will let the housing associations know that they are just time wasters and I am not prepared to wait for them. It’s the housing association property but I will rather pay some private contractor to do the repairs which will be cheaper than me taking unpaid leave as I have used my very last day waiting for these idiots.

If I could give this company a zero, I would they attended my neighbours property above lied and said that they knocked the door instead they just put a card through and has the best part. I caught it all on camera. This will definitely be being sent to their head office because this is unacceptable. They are liars. Every time they use their wet room, I get flooded. They keep on making excuses when all they need to do is lift up the flooring and secure the plumbing. They’ve gone three weeks with no bathroom facilities and they have a disabled child in the property and then they have to cheek to reschedule the appointment for the 9th of January. That means they will go almost 8 weeks with no bathroom that is not fair they are lazy.

My block of flats has been in a poor state for years, a neighbour has had issues for months in regards to the roof leaking and causing damage to his flat every time wates patches over the roof only to make the matter worse. It was decided that the whole roof was to be replaced, the day after it was signed of my flat as well as others was flooded out causing damage to my bedroom and front room my furniture has been damaged and i am currently staying with a friend. I have had nothing but excuses from them and the housing people.
They really are a load of cowboys but as it is not there home they just dont care.

They don’t even deserve a Star. Wates has been a nightmare. Months and months trying to get my staircase fixed and nothing has been done. They kept sending different “cowboys” who all said “not my job” even though they were booked specifically to do the job. Every visit was pointless — just passing the issue on to the next person.
It’s a joke of a company. No communication, no responsibility, just wasted time. Their 80% 1-star reviews say it all. Avoid them at all costs.
