WARNING: Your credits expire

Logged in today to discover I had 0 credits despite buying some just a few months ago. I checked and they expired just a few weeks after I paid nearly £20 for them. The fact they expire is written in easily missable small print on the package selection page and there is NOTHING on the payment screen that tells you the credits expire. The fact they expire at all is disgraceful. I'll never give them another penny.

We do advise of this when you select the credit package you wish to purchase on the Get Credits page, under the Help pages and also on the payment receipt which is found under Your Account.

Still missing collections but reporting them as collected

Poor service in Milton Keynes (Broughton area). They are lazy and miss collections and then report them as collected. The communal bin here is full up and it's at least the 2nd week they didn't bother collecting. When they do bother to collect they're too lazy to close the doors on the bin store, leaving them wide open and banging the walls in the wind which is a noise nuisance for residents.

Good value SIM only plans

Been with Giffgaff for ages but the value of their SIM only plans have declined, so shopped around and went with Asda mobile. They have some good value monthly rolling plans for people like me who don't want to sign up for a contract. They currently run off the Vodafone network and the service is good in my experience.

I can always rely on Tesco

I’ve been using Tesco grocery home deliveries for almost 20 years, during which they’ve only let me down a handful of times. As someone who’s disabled, the service has been a real life-saver.

Ordering is a breeze, and product availability is generally excellent. Occasionally an item might have a short date, but I always check at delivery and can refuse it for a refund if I want.

I’ve only ever experienced a couple of late deliveries, and once an order had to be cancelled due to technical issues. My only wish is that Tesco would deliver items in bags rather than loose in trays.

Overall, I’m very satisfied with Tesco’s home delivery service.

A good experience

I bought a single bed and paid for it to be put together in my home. The bed was good value, the delivery was smooth, and the guy who put the bed together did a decent job. All in all, very happy with my experience. Months later and the bed is doing great with no problems.

They miss collections and lie about it to the council

They missed a communal refuse collection but reported it completed to the council. Two days after I raised a missed collection report, they again told the council that it had been done, despite the fact an ever-growing mountain of black sacks was spilling out of the bin onto the floor. Now an official complaint has been raised. I'll update this review with the result.

Update Monday 7th: They pulled up in their lorry, got out to look in the bin store, and then left without taking anything. Complaint escalated.

Update Wednesday 9th: Black bin finally collected, recycle bin still uncollected and overflowing

Total ripoff - just clicking search uses up a credit

What they don't make clear is that simply typing in an address and clicking search uses up a credit, even though you can do that for free before you even buy any credits. You might think that they'd only charge a credit if you wanted to reveal information on the address, but no, just clicking search = one credit down the drain. If you bought the 6-credit bundle that's £3.19 per credit.

Also, they don't store previous searches in your account even though you paid for them. So if you need to look up an address you searched for previously, yep that's another credit gone. £3.19 just to click search.

Be extremely careful what you click once you've bought some credits, because the website makes it very easy to waste them.

Hello, When you have credits on your account, the credit is used when you enter a name and location and press search. An additional credit is used if you click on anything else within that search ie CCJ, Insolvency Check, Mortality Check, Director link or other occupant, as these are classed as new searches and another credit is used. If you click to view the Property Ownership Verification to check if a person is/has been the owner of the property that was searched, then we do advise that 2 credits will be used to view this data.

We also provide information on the number of credits used per search in the Help pages, both before and after account registration or credits purchased.

Conducting a search without credits will only result in limited data being displayed. Once credits are used to make a search, the full details of the search are then shown.

There is a Credit Warning alert on each account, which will display as a pop-up box each time you're about to spend one of your credits on a search. It will tell you how many credits you will spend, and ask you to confirm before taking you to the search results. This feature can be turned on/off under Site Preferences found under 'your account'.

The more credits you purchase, the lower the cost per search. For example, buying 100 credits for £65.94 brings the cost down to just 66p (inclusive of VAT) per search.

To help you keep track of previous searches, we provide the option to download and save a record (Excel/PDF) once the results are displayed. This option is clearly visible at the top of the results page.

Sent cards to the wrong people

I ordered four cards and they sent two of them to the wrong people. Very embarrassing for me. They offered to resend them and I know at least one got the right card eventually, but this has shaken my trust in them as a formerly reliable company.

Beautiful incense

I wanted something better than the popular cheap brand of incense I'd used for many years, and noticed the Mother's India fragrances sold by Greater Goods being recommended fairly often, so I bought some of their nag champa (Shanti) and their sandalwood (Yoga). I bought the sticks but you can buy them in cones too.

It arrived via Royal Mail signed for, well packaged in a cardboard box filled with shredded paper. They added some small testers from the rest of their range, which was a nice bonus.

All I can say is wow. Immediately the difference in quality was apparent. The smell is beautiful and rich, and reminds me of the incense my dad used many years ago. It is fairly smoky as you'd expect so make sure to use it in a well ventilated room.

They sell a less strong and slightly cheaper range called Mother's Fragrances if you're after something more subtle but I've not tried them.

I'm so pleased to have found this company and will be buying more from them. If you're after some good quality incense I can thoroughly recommend them. (PS this is a genuine review, I bought these with my own money and haven't received anything to write this).

Edit: I gave 5 stars in my review so why it's saying 3.7 is anyone's guess

Returned phone without fixing it

I bought a Galaxy A34 and have constant wifi disconnection problems with it. A search shows that others are experiencing the same issue with this phone. Sent it for repair and they sent it straight back claiming there's nothing wrong with it. Now I'm lumped with a £299 phone that doesn't work properly.

I own some ATH-M50x headphones which are great but the ear pads tend to wear out after a couple of years of heavy use so I buy replacements direct from Audio-Technica (don't buy them from other companies, they change the sound of the headphones). Ordering is easy and delivery is fast.

Very slow prescription deliveries

Jardines Direct used to be okay, but now it's normal to wait a fortnight for prescription deliveries. I had to buy some diabetic test strips from Amazon because I ran out waiting for Jardines to deliver plus my insulin pen almost ran out. I dread to think of the elderly and vulnerable who might be going without medication because of the long wait.

There's something you need to know. If you sign up for one of the more expensive plans, they won't let you downgrade to a cheaper one. That's right. The only way you can do it is remove all your music from stores, delete your entire account, and open a brand new account with a new email address. Pretty scummy, huh?

Non-existent customer service

I entered my meter readings last month and they've still not updated. If you call you just get a message saying they're busy and then it cuts you off. Their online chat system just gives you a small selection of mostly useless options, none of which connect you to an actual person. God help you if you ever need to speak to someone at Scottish Power. Avoid this company like the plague, absolutely the worst energy supplier I've ever had.

Absolutely useless

Absolutely useless. Booked since April to fix a broken communal door entry system that keeps breaking despite their efforts. Never showed up the first time despite pretending they did. Second time they showed up and walked off without even ringing anyone's buzzer to let them in, stating that they couldn't gain entry. Well yeah, the entry system is broken, what did they expect? Did it really not occur to them to ask someone to let them in?

There should be an investigation into why this awful site along with WebMD is always pushed to the top of Google search results here in the UK. It you don't accept its cookies it gives you an even more useless version of the site. Use the NHS site instead.
