Review of Travel Chapter
We stayed at The Haven, Saxonfields in Snape from September 13th 2025 for 3 nights of a 5 night stay.
We found the property to be generally grubby with old linen and towels, stained duvet and furnishings. We found a mite infestation in the kitchen. We left early after feeling uncomfortable to stay any longer. On returning home I was diagnosed with scabies which I believe to be a direct result of staying in this property.
I have since submitted a complaint, sent videos and received a standard email response to say it’s being investigated. I have called several times and asked to speak with a manager regarding these issues. I have sent a Trustpilot review on Holiday Cottages, no response from anybody.
Nobody from this company is responding and even an email to their CEO Jayne McClure has been ignored.
I have now written to East Suffolk council outlining my concerns about this property, as I do not want anybody else to be suffering as a result of staying there.
I am astounded at this lack of care or response from Holiday Cottages/The Travel Chapter. I would have expected a swift call back to discuss the issues as a minimum within 24 hours of my first email.
Surely a company of this size should have an efficient and responsive customer services? I feel very upset by this whole experience which has impacted both my health and my finances negatively.

We rented a bungalow The Haven, in Snape, Suffolk from this company last week. This property has a mite infestation which has caused me to have scabies, it is generally a grubby property with old/stained bedding, linens, towels and furniture.
Despite having raised all these issues with Holiday Cottages over a week ago, they have not responded with any concern or actions to resolve.
Be very careful if you are looking to book through them and for this property.

Ordered football hoody and shirt from the Manchester City online shop on 23rd November 2021. As per the other reports on Trustpilot I have received nothing. I have emailed customer services and also phoned them. They haven’t been able to provide any updates or if and when they will arrive. These were for my grandson for Christmas and he will be very disappointed.
I intend to take this further with trading standards as there appears to be no way of getting a refund, and I believe Manchester City are in breach of contract.
Please avoid placing any orders with them. Absolutely useless customer services. I only wish I’d read the previous reviews on Trustpilot before I ordered from them.

2 parcels ordered from Currys on next day service, one delivered, other one still not arrived. Series of messages from DPD saying incorrect contact, not available and delivery requested for 1st December. None of these make sense given the other parcel was delivered without issue.

What a breath of fresh air this lovely lot at Octopus are! From transfer of my business from British Gas, to the installation of a new smart meter last week, they have provided excellent customer service. They have done everything as promised.
A big shout out to Nejla for sorting out the install and Dayne the engineer, they were both charming, delightful and polite to deal with. What a change from the other big suppliers, so pleased to have found a company where I feel as though I matter to them!
Can’t recommend them highly enough, keep up the good work.

Be careful, I ordered a cocktail trolley on 22nd Feb, expecting delivery early March. I still haven’t got it, and have had to chase every 2 weeks for an update. Latest is that I might get it by end of April, they will have had my money for over two months by then. They are blaming the pandemic, but they shouldn’t have said early March delivery in the first place in my view. Very disappointed so far...

Optiplan and the Wokingham team delivered my lovely kitchen on time and as expected. No dramas, great team from the sales and planning from Simon, our fitter Alan, electricians Bob & Neil, plasterer Andy, they all worked together to provide an excellent service. Just professional all round, and what you hope for when undertaking a major home improvement project.
They all delivered as promised, you can't ask for any more, thank you all.

Further to my previous updates with regards to Kurt Geiger, I have upgraded my experience slightly based on a response from their Customer Service Delivery Manager - Ancilla Saba based at their head office.
Finally on December 19th I was refunded with the money they took on November 9th, I also received a phone call from Ancilla Saba after emailing their CEO - Neil Clifford. I have since received a gift card as some recompense for this awful experience.
It is clear they have issues, but they seem to be attempting to put these right. I wish them well in getting them resolved

Further to my earlier review of Kurt Geiger, I still do not have a refund despite them saying last Monday that it would be in my bank account within 3 -5 working days, they have had my money under false pretences since November 9th.
Despite their reply to my review, they have done nothing to expedite my refund or respond to my complaints re their service. I have heard nothing from anybody at Kurt Geiger, and therefore this just reinforces my view that they are a bad company to deal with

Please don't use this company, or if you do and have problems don't expect any efficient response or help from customer services. This is the worst experience I have ever had with purchasing products in my life.
I ordered a pair of boots online on 1st November from Kurt Geiger, order no 202754830. When I got confirmation of the order, it said I had ordered 2 pairs of these boots. Naturally I called their customer service on 02077817480 to cancel one pair, then the saga started. I was unable to get through on that number at all as it had an automated message saying due to high volume of calls they weren't able to answer. Hardly surprising given their complete lack of customer service as it turns out.
I then had no option but to email, by the time they eventually responded November 6th, they told me it was too late to cancel my order, it had already been despatched. I told them I would refuse any order that arrived and demanded a refund. Consequently 2 pairs of boots arrived on 9th November which I refused delivery of, and I was charged for both pairs that day.
I have been trying to get my money refunded ever since, have made numerous phone calls, been told that these boots haven't been received back in their warehouse, and the will claim compensation from Hermes. I have an email now saying I will be refunded in the next 3-5 days, but who knows. I have been out of pocket now for 1 month, I have asked to speak to managers and escalate this situation but they are never available.
Again, not surprising if this is the way they seek to do business. I suspect I will end up taking them to court to get my money back. Shocking company who don't deserve to have any customers. I have asked to speak to their md, but told you can only speak to customer services on this one number.
I find it hard to believe that nobody in this company is concerned about their reputation enough to improve their lack of customer service. I have wasted enough of my time now, hope that people reading this will get to save theirs.

Very pleased with my new desk, it was delivered at the date and time expected. But paying £39 for delivery which doesn't include unpacking or taking away the packaging, seems very steep when most companies don't charge for delivery. I didn't see any option for free delivery, but would have taken it if I had. I was lucky to have a neighbour help with removing the desk which was nailed to a pallet, I wouldn't have been able to do that on my own. So if Oakfurnitureland could improve this aspect, they would have got 5 stars.
