While we're on the topic of "weird misinformation that has spread on Therian tiktok." I remember seeing a video where someone was like "oh yeah I used to be a therian for 8 years but I just kinda fell out of it."

And almost all the comments were like "what do you mean you "stopped being a therian"? Therianthropy is forever!"

Who...who told them that? Where did this idea come from? Becuase it is very much not true! I have said it before and I will say it again: identity, in every sense of the word, is fluid. What labels you use, how you style you clothes and hair, even down to what food you like to eat, all of that has the possibility to change over the course of your life.

There will be aspects of yourself that will stick with you for your whole life, but there are plenty of other things that will change over time. Including alterhumanity.

So, if you see someone promoting the idea that "therianthropy is forever, you can't stop being a therian." I encourage you to try and educate them, becuase I think this way of thinking can and will be harmful to young therians. If someone in the community finds themselves changing their mind about their identity, they might get it in their head that they have to "stay a therian or else they were never valid." (Again, very much not true!!)

So there's my two cents and half a walnut for the day 🐻 👍

failingatlifespectacularly asked:

What does a phantom shift/phantom limb feel like, I was listening too some guided meditations and I have no idea what I just experienced

I can't tell if I had phantom paws or if I just cut off my circulation by accident

Thanks

answered:

A phantom limb, friend, is a sensation that a limb still exists, even though it has been amputated. A phantom sensation is any feeling experienced in the missing limb, including pain, tingling, itching, or even movement. These sensations are caused by the brain’s difficulty in adjusting to the loss of a limb.  Circulation issues usually involve numbness, tingling, or coldness that resolves when blood flow is restored! I’m glad i could use some of my med-school knowledge for this :]

For Young Therians -- Please Read

(Tw: venting and swearing. Not mad, just want people to be better.)

I don't think I'm human.

Scratch that, I'm not human.

I'm not human because of my therianthropy.

All of you kids saying "therians don't think they're ACTUALLY animals" or "therians know they are human" can fuck off.

Don't speak for a community you hardly understand.

I don't care if you're trying to make haters understand, you're still spreading misinformation.

I'M A FUCKING ANIMAL. DEAL WITH IT.

Don't even get me started on the "therians identify as animals non-physically, they know they are physically human".

Shut the fuck up and stop reminding me.

That's like saying "trans women know they are physically men"

I DON'T HAVE TO IDENTIFY AS MY PHYSICAL BODY.

I'm transmasc. I would never refer to myself as a woman even though it's my biology. The same goes for my therianthropy.

If anything, I'm transspecies.

And that's a perfectly valid type of therianthropy.

STOP PRETENDING PEOPLE LIKE ME DONT EXIST.

We deserve to be included in discussions about therianthropy and in the definition of the label itself.

Don't be a turd.

Stop gatekeeping.

Stop watering down our identities for others.

Googling shit and reading wikis isn't research.

Talk to real people.

Talk to real creatures.

Hello! It has come to my attention that there are user(s) that are possibly trying to impersonate other alterhuman content creators. This has been seen earlier with someone impersonating an alterhuman from Instagram, however I believe it could have popped up again and may be trying to impersonate a mutual of mine!

Please take my words with a grain of salt as I have asked this mutual if they made an alt blog and am waiting for a response, however it seems extremely suspicious. This individual seems to have taken some of my mutual's posts as well as part of the mutual's intro and their username albeit with one difference.

Please do not impersonate others, that is extremely wrong.

I’m a therian that barely does quads, and that’s totally valid. Remember you do not have to do quads, have gear, or shift to be a therian. Everyone’s therianthropy is different, and those things listed don’t make you ‘less’ or ‘more’ therian. All those things help with is bringing you closer to your theriotype. We’re all in this together

ALTERNATE VERSIPIRE FLAG

// pt: alternate versipire flag //

[ Link to the original coining ]

Verispire (noun)

  1. A shapeshifting vampire, one that isn't contained to the "standard" forms of vampires, but can morph and change their body at will.
  • This was meant in mind with the idea that most vampires are restricted to forms like bat, wolf and sometimes rodent forms, but versipires are not.

This was coined by @ill-either-live-or-die-alone (hope you don't mind the mention) for mx-werebat / me.

This is not a xenogender, but is a nonhuman label.
