Scam

Sent me spam email asking to confirm my details. Makes me think they're running scams and are crooks.
Stay clear.

Edit: Now via Trustpilot they have asked for name, my phone number and my email address to "check that my review is genuine."

Makes me even more cautious of their motives.....

Not so great so far. Hoping for better.

Not too great so far. Although the "transfer in" to the cash ISA process was a little difficult to navigate it went through very quickly and they told me they had received my funds. I left it a week or so (was on holiday) before checking my balance where "interest is added on a daily basis..." and saw that the accrued interest so far in no way reflected the adverised rate, even assuming it doesn't include the bonus rate! The chat line tells me to " wait a week or two" but if interest at the appropriate rate is added daily why is it not showing? And what use is the app or website if the information displayed is incorrect? Am I really getting the rate that was advertised or is there something going on here that is not clear?
Every other provider has an App that you can log onto and see the instant and correct value of your investment. It seems that Moneyfarm are hiding behind old technology. For what reason?
I will review again in a week or so.

Our boosted rate is applied at the end of the 12-month term, not daily. That’s why the daily interest you see will align with the base rate, not the base plus the boost. The additional interest from the boost is paid in a lump sum at the end of the term.

It’s also worth noting that interest in our Cash ISA comes from Qualifying Money Market Funds (QMMFs). These funds generate returns based on changes in the value of the underlying fund. Because of this, your interest may fluctuate from day to day, and you might not see any interest on weekends or bank holidays when markets are closed.

Our platform also will update the interest on a daily basis, though as time goes on the base rate AER will fall in line with expectations.

Bottom line.....a great company

We've been using Bumboo for a few months now and have a regular order sorted. The deliveries are quick and easily adjustable if quatities or timings are a bit off. We're still fine tuning our precise requirements but the process seems easy enough to adjust. The quality of the product is exceptional, and one of the main reasons that our quantities have had to be re-thought is due to the fact that these rolls last much, much longer than the usual supermarket rolls we've been buying for years!
As long as Bumboo don't change or introduce huge price rises we can't see why we shouldn't stay with them for ever.
It's good to write a nice review for a change, for a company that produces quality goods and looks after its customers.

Iceland scam again this morning

As often happens in Iceland, some checkout prices do not reflect the prices listed on display. Of course, Iceland know that most people do not check their totals or notice the discrepancy, especially if it's a big shop and the checkout process is rushed, but what they're doing is illegal. Fortunately I [roughly] add up my total spend up as I go along so I know what the bill should be, but most people don't have the time or will to do this they tried this scam again this morning as they often do. I should stop shopping there but I'm always on the lookout for a deal, which is exactly what Iceland are aware of! They hook you in with a low low price and then charge you a much higher price. This was not an isolated incident so I must conclude that it's a deliberate policy on their part!

Not a scam.

OK. I gave them a bad review and they didn't like it. They asked for more details, which they know are not possible to obtain and pointed me at their helpdesk and FAQ, which we know are a waste of time.
The facts are that I accused of them of operating a scam as they did not track the tasks I had completed either due to deliberate policy or incompentence. OK, maybe not a scam but it is certainly disheartening and annoying when they break a promise and then lay the blame on the customer for not providing evidence.
Two tasks I completed are not registered. There is no way of me providing proof that they are, and they must know that, so why ask? If not a scam then certainly sharp practice.
One of the tasks was to register for a free sample. Which I did. It arrived. I used it. Where is my reward? "Sorry we have no record of that......"
I have taken down my original review, but they obviously feel that they have a right to bully their customers on here and therefore they do not strike me as a "decent" company.
They will reply to this and say that there are procedures in place to track missed tasks, but in reality you must keep separate records of everything you do yourself otherwise they might just say "tough" we have no record.
I'm pleased if this really works for others, but my experience is disappointing and a little bit sad for myself that I was taken in!

cashback.co.uk is certainly not a scam and any insinuation that it is is harmful and defamatory.

In the example you have given regarding the free sample, so we can credit the cashback we would simply request a copy of your order order confirmation email. You have stated that in response our team quoted "Sorry we have no record of that......" and "tough", I don't believe these to be actual quotes from our customer support team.

Good at first. Poor for transfers in.

The App is brilliant if you're simply opening a cash ISA. Interest rates are great too (October 24, 5.1%) but if you want to transfer in from another ISA it's impossible to negotiate their form. It looks easy, but when you start putting numbers in the boxes it all goes wrong. Trying to find the answers from the Chat bot or even the Chat chap (or chapess) is impossible as there are no humans present (apparently). Oh, one person responded and said he couldn't help, so he said he'd transfer me to someone who could, but it never happened. Its a shame that they're missing out on further investments, but if you cannot put money in, what are you going to do?
Edit: Eventually got hold of a real person who could help. It turned out that there was a glitch with the form. Whether it was my end or theirs was not clear but it all got sorted out and I was eventually able to make a transfer. (Currently ongoing, so I will reserve judgement)
However it's a bit disappointing that Trading 212 have jumped on this review and asked for my details so that they can verify that it is authentic! If only they'd respond to actual customers with problems so speedily!

On a side note, we're sorry for the trouble you encountered when transferring from another ISA. We aim to complete all transfers as fast as possible, regardless of whether they're incoming or outgoing.

The chatbot provides information about general questions, and in case of more complex queries, help from team members is required. Once you request assistance from a team member, the first available agent jumps into the chat. We don't leave any questions unanswered, nor do we ignore them. Yet, there may be delays in our responses due to the workload. However, we're glad everything was sorted in the end.

This is not an online booking company

This is not an online booking company. Be wary if you think you have snagged a good deal online as it has to be verified by a phone call. The procedure seems to be that they phone you back and then put you on hold for around five minutes while they "verify the status" of your booking. Then they tell you that the price has gone up and the value of the required deposit to book it has also gone up. They blame this on someone else! Of course, I cannot confirm that they always do this. I am just speaking from my own experience.
So when you press that "confirm booking" on the website be aware that this may not be the final price. Also, be aware that the price quoted - even on the telephone - does not appear to include seats on the aircraft. "That's OK I'll stand....!"
And that probably local "tourist taxes" are also required to be paid at the location.
Both these last two points were not mentioned until after my deposit was taken.
They sometimes answer the phones quite quickly but then say you have to do stuff yourself. As our holiday approached there were numerous forms to fill in and we kept having to log into the TUI website. I felt a lot of this could have been done automatically with the information that they already had. The log in to book seats and file for visas was tortuous because we had not booked with TUI directly. You have to figure out how to access the TUI system on your own and simply using your TUI reference number does not give you access. You're left with a feeling that you have gate-crashed the party and that you are not really welcome!
With a week to go, I had received no more documentation, so I phoned, just to check what was happening and it seemed that BBT had been sitting on my tickets for a month and had not bothered to send them to me. Had I not phoned would I ever have received them? The TUI documents said "only one month until your holiday" when there was actually only 6 days remaining!
Also, these documents did not reflect the aircraft seats we had selected.
With two days to go it was time to check-in and get our boarding passes. Surely this would be straightforward? No of course not. After negotiating the minefield that is the TUI website I eventually reached the bit that said "Print or email passes." It would be handy to have them on or phones so I selected "email. " But no email was forthcoming. Instead I got a message saying "We have emailed your boarding passes to ........" Nobody!! It said if you don't get them, try again, so I went back and tried again. Still nothing doing. At this stage I decided to try a different approach and downloaded the TUI APP. I entered all my details and after I while I managed to access the boarding pass page, and there they were. Except there was a big message saying " This boarding pass does not include a bar code" So useless boarding passes. I tried talking to someone at TUI, but because the booking was with BBT, TUI would not help! Eventually I printed the boarding passes on sheets of A4 paper. Fortunately, at the airport they issued new passes so the whole process seemed to be both pointless and superfluous.
The holiday itself was very nice, but I would not use BBT again. As nice as they try to be, they are not the holiday provider and therefore TUI will not speak to their customers directly.

Appalling. Crooked service

Appalling. The worst network ever. Avoid at all costs. I lost mobile coverage, my SIM no longer works and it impossible to contact them to get any of this sorted. I'd like to call them crooks, but they will say they are working hard to provide a service. I'm moving on.

Vodafone fibre: OK when it works, but that is seldom.

Vodafone fibre: Speed keeps dropping. Have to regularly contact them to complain, and the "security checks" they put you through are endless and time wasting.
They promise that everything is now OK, but a week or two later they have to be reminded to fix it again, because they are not pro-active in monitoring faults.
Can't wait for my contract to end so that I can leave this shower, but I cannot help thinking that all the other providers are equally as bad.

Non existent help They couldn't care less.

Terrible service from this company that is trying to play with the big boys but cannot hack it, Oer 30 minutes to answer the phone, then after intense interrogation get put through to the wrong department who refuse to help saying you must call again. Trying to phone this company twice in one day is soul-destroying. In addition, their website is not current and trying to access the information needed online is impossible.
I have been trying for over two weeks now and their help and assistance is nonexistent. Do not use this company.

They knocked 28p off. Why???

The process was quite simple and worked well, but the prices offered are derisory and when they receive the books they knock an amount off the previously promised value. Once you know this, I guess you go into it with your eyes open.
My philosophy was that I would rather the books are recycled than buried or burnt, but in all honesty I have no way of knowing what they actually do with the books after they receive them.

Company going downhill....

Booking.com seems to be degenrating into a money laundering service for hotel chains. Especially Jurys Inn.
After taking my payment instantly on a fully refundable booking, they are now refusing to refund me. Their auto response form that puts me in contact with Jurys is sent to an email address that is not monitored. They must know this so they are all in cahoots to keep my money. I have been using Booking.com for many years and thought that they were one of the better companies in this field. Now I'm not so sure.

Another useless cheating energy…

Another useless cheating energy company.
First I was forced to switch to them, then they switched me to their highest tarrif, then they blocked my move (twice!) to another supplier.
And is it possible to contact them?
No. Of course not.
This is probably the worst energy company in the country. Avoid at all costs, and remember that should you switch to them they will not allow you to leave.
I know, I am still trying.

Appalling customer service. No one answers their phones. Their online platform doesn't work.
If you are "lucky" enough to speak to someone they can never help. You must try another number.
Everyone is keen to pass the problem on, but not solve it.

Replacement for worn and broken petrol mower

I needed to replace my worn out and broken petrol mower and it seemed the right time to opt for an electric replacement. I did this with a little bit of trepidation, as my grass is not a pristine lawn, and my grass cutting often involves some off-piste landscaping. In addition, a self-propelled mower was essential, and I was hoping for the same torque as provided by an ICE mower.
I went for the Hyundai HYM80Li460SP 80V. Delivery was very quick and assembly was straightforward. The batteries both needed charging on arrival but were showing 50-75% full, so even charging one at a time it didn't take too long to have them both up to full voltage and installed. There was a bit of a trick to ensuring they were fully inserted, but I think this was just down to it being the first time, and I do not foresee any future problems.
The mower's only excursion so far was a test run on a fairly flat piece of grass. My initial observation was that the cut, even on the lowest setting was not as close to the ground as on my previous mower and the self-propelled cut-in was a trifle harsh. I'm sure I'll get used to it.
The batteries were reduced to 50% after 15-20 minutes, so I will have to get used to mowing in more than one session from now on, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. The mower itself felt sturdy and certainly seemed like it had enough power for the job at hand. A double battery charger would be useful, but would of course add considerably to the cost.
I will review again should I change my opinion, but this seems like a good replacement and hopefully will last me for many years to come.

Let down by the nuts & bolts!

The gazebo parts arrived quickly and were all present and correct. They even seem much stronger and sturdier than the original plastic parts that they're replacing. All good, and 10 out of 10 so far.
However, they were let down by the nuts and bolts!
I thought it would be a good idea to order these from GSP as well, to save me having to go out and buy them from a hardware shop, although their price was a little bit high! When they arrived it was obvious that they would "do," but they weren't really the correct parts for the job. The bolts (through the bracket) were of a smaller diameter than they should have been and therefore the corresponding nut wasn't held snugly inside its cutout, necessitating the use of an additional screwdriver to hold it in place whilst tightening. It is likely that these parts were only a few pence cheaper than the correct ones, so what was the point?
I'm disappointed in that for my own peace of mind I'm going to have to replace all these "wrong" parts!

Getting worse by the day

Increasingly poor service.
They do not answer the phone for hours.
There is no facility to contact them by email.
There is an online "chat" facility but in the two years I have been with Plusnet that has never worked.
They never do what they promise and they have a confusing ticket system which raises a complaint but then does nothing about it, then adds further tickets with made-up facts.
They also send emails closing the tickets because of various reasons - again made up by them - and bearing no relevance to the problem in hand.
And they change dates to suit their own narrative, not actually reflecting the real dates.
Does all this sound too far-fetched? Well it has all happened to me in just the last couple of weeks.
I am getting increasingly desperate as I try and get to the bottom of an ongoing problem. Secretly I think they know that they do not have the ability or knowledge to fix it so they are throwing up this smokescreen of obfuscation and lies.
If only I could talk to someone who was prepared to take ownership of the problem, but that's not going to happen.
So why can't I just leave? Because they keep sending me emails telling me that the problem is my fault (it's not) that I haven't done the tests they ask (I have) and that I haven't responded (only about a dozen times!) and my right to leave free of charge is not permitted.
But I will press on. Wish me luck. Please!
