Being a Varifocal eyeglass wearer, I hadn't worn contact lenses for many years. Recently, I made an appointment - 050226 - to visit my Optician - Emma Pearce, Boots Swansea - and see if she could assist me in finding the best lens for both comfort and excellent vision. A very charming young lady who was so pleasant and attentive and explained all the options. She proceeded to identify the correct 'soft' varifocal lens prescription to suit me and I came away with 5 sets of the prescription. I am still waiting contact from the store to collect a further 10 pairs as a trial. Another appointment has been made for me to see Emma - 200226 - and decide if this current lens is suitable or if not to try a different combination. I am at present 'eking' out the 5 set of lenses given, as know I have to wear a set on my follow up appointment. Thank you Emma for your professionalism, care and empathy in helping me, and I am sure together we will get the right prescription and plan to suit me.

I would like to praise Liam at the St. Stephens Boots Opticians in Hull. I went into the store for a repair on my spectacles. His efforts were over and above my expectations. He came up with an ingenious repair which I was extremely satisfied with. I would say that Liam is an asset to the department.

Update to previous review, I would like to thank April, the manager at the Golden Square, Warrington branch. Following my visit in January, I wasn’t happy but now I am. I was contacted by April who did everything to make me feel better and addressed each of my issues in a professional manner. She listened to all of my concerns and I was invited back today for a review of my optical scans with a senior optometrist who explained everything I needed to know and put my mind at rest. I was also assured that my Advantage card had been updated automatically with the points earned. And I was assured that my review with Boots had not been completed by a member of staff - for which I apologise. I was very happy with my new glasses I collected today but, more importantly, thrilled that I was given a partial refund due to the fact that I receive Guaranteed Pension Credit which helps towards my glasses prescription.

Went for my prescription sunglasses. As usual Susan in particular but all the staff were brilliant. I’ve been using Boots opticians for years and I’ve built up a rapport with all the staff. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. 10 out of 10 for service.

Great experience at Boots Opticians (Ilford, London) last Friday.
Staff was really nice from the first moment I entered the shop until I left. The person at the door kindly pointed me to the Optician's area where I was greeted by an assistant who quickly and efficiently checked my appointment and details were all in order.
My Contact lenses check up was done by a young practician named Naghilla. She was really knowledgeable and with people skills. She took her time to have a proper (non rushed) check up.
I wear contact lenses for around 40 years now and seen all kinds of services. I can say that Friday I had one of the best experiences in many years.

This review is for the Elgin branch.
The optician who has been helping me with my contact lenses has been brilliant 10/10. BUT, I have had my appointments cancelled so many times that I have now given up in despair and anger. As a full-time worker, I cannot just swap appointment days ad hoc So their phone calls to say that they've had to cancel my Wednesday appointment (yet again) but can do tomorrow is of no use to me. They then tell me that the next Wednesday appointment is in March. I have no faith that they will honour this appointment either. I do not recommend this branch at all as they are totally unreliable.

For most of us changing glasses is a nessecity, but for some of us, it can also be a nightmare, especialy chosing the right pair. Today, at Gravesend, I was plesantly surprised with the professionalism, friendliness, and efficiency of the person that helped me. Emily's helpfulness throughout the entire process made my day.

Eye test on 18th Dec. was fine.
On 9th Jan. received TWO envelopes with identical reminders (dated 23rd Dec.) that I was due for eye test.
Took envelopes to local branch: told I'd received duplicates as they'd moved to new software.
6th Feb. received email: "your eye test is overdue!"
This morning I reported this by 'phone. Poor connexion: was she using some trendy but useless device? NO offer to check my records in their database. Concluded by asking me, "OK?" -- NO, it's NOT OK!

Went to the Braintree store today (8th Feb) to see if I could find 2 pairs of glasses (normal and sunglasses). From the moment I walked in, everything seemed to be an inconvenience for the 3 ladies who were serving in the shop. I asked to see the sunglasses as they were all locked so I couldn't try them on. The woman who came to unlock them huffed and puffed and asked which ones I wanted to see. They were all on different locks so I had to ask her to open more than one and she didn't seem happy about it. Then, despite it being only 2.50pm (the shop was closing at 4pm), I was told: we probably won't be able to dispense you today.
Then I asked for an overall price for 2 pairs of glasses only to be given an approximate price : so the thinning is between that price and price... what I wanted was the price I was going to pay today.
I could see I was bothering the lady with my questions so I walked out of the shop and went to Specsavers instead where I received an outstanding service.
It was a Sunday and I clearly got the impression that the lady who served me wanted to go home.

After going into Boots Opticians Romsey to have a course of IPL and Red Light Therapy I was in the care of Charlie who was an absolute pleasure to deal with he was extremely friendly and easy to talk to which put me at ease…I looked forward to going to each session and now my course is finished I will be booking back in for my top up in the summer…Thank you Boots but especially Charlie :)

The team at Boots Opticians, Dorking were friendly, skilful and well-organised. They refitted a lens that had popped out of my glasses and my wife's at no charge, which seemed like 'going the extra mile'. We were delighted with their service. They were also very thorough with my eye test, and gave me good advice when I asked them to look at my very-bloodshot eye. All in all they came across as very caring, model professionals.
